Bicester Town Oxfordshire

About Bicester

Welcome to the Bicester edition of The Oxford Magazine.

This historic market town is expanding quickly, building new homes for commuters working in London, Birmingham and Oxford. It’s, perhaps, the fastest-growing town in the county, in large part because of its proximity to junction 9 of the M40.

But Bicester is much more than just a bedroom community, as the fabulous architecture around the marketplace will show you, including gorgeous 17th-century townhouses and a smattering of older half-timbered buildings.

Yet, for many holidaymakers, the town’s reputation is preceded by Bicester Village, the outlet mall that pulls in a staggering 6.3 million shoppers a year. It’s hard to believe that more visitors from China come to these luxury shops than to any other attraction in the country apart from Buckingham Palace.
