About Chandlings School: Whole School Open Morning

Sadly our Open Event on Saturday 19 September has been cancelled as a result of the latest guidance from Public Health England.

However we would be delighted to arrange a virtual meeting with our Head, Christine Cook. Please email Mrs Francesca Gentili at admissions@chandlings.org.uk who will be happy to arrange a convenient time.

Have a little peak at our video which will give you a snapshot of life at Chandlings.

We have many Open Mornings and visits throughout the year for all prospective parents and their families, where you will have the chance to meet our Head, current pupils and teachers as well as experience what Chandlings has to offer both inside and outside in our beautiful grounds.

This year, with the Covid restrictions in place, we will be having separate, individual family tours that will give you a flavour of our wonderful warm school set in 60 acres of stunning grounds giving your children the space to learn. At the end of the tour you will have the opportunity to meet the Head and other senior members of staff.

Our Nursery also hold Open Mornings for all Early Years children under 5.  This is for children who want to either come to our Nursery or enter at Reception.  Children will have the chance to experience a little bit of life at Chandlings.  You will see some lessons in action, join in with Nursery gymnastics and at our next Easter Open Morning  there might even be a chance to go hunting for eggs! Do also ask us about our places for Reception and other Years.

You can also book a personal tour or a virtual tour. You will be able to see our facilities, meet the Head, staff and pupils and ask any questions you may have.

Previously at our whole school Open Morning which takes place every September some of things families have experienced are:

  • Riding on the Ponies
  • Visiting the French Cafe
  • Trying out the Low Ropes Course in the Bluebell Wood
  • Listening to stories from Teresa Heapy, an award-winning author, in the library
  • Having a go in the Nursery Gym
  • Trying out the laser cutter in the DT room and make a bag tag

Chandlings is only 5 miles from Oxford, just off the A34 between Abingdon and Boars Hill.

Please complete the enquiry form to attend our Open Mornings or to arrange an individual visit.  Alternatively you can contact Mrs Francesca Gentili on 01865 730771 or by email.
