Charlbury Beer Festival is one of the largest independent, one-day beer festivals in England.
Each year, the festival welcomes thousands of guests to the Cotswolds sunshine to sample from over 50 ales and craft beers and enjoy the Aunt Sally Open Singles World Championship.
It’s not just beer, though. There is cider, wine, gin, and Pimm’s. Live music until late, multiple food vendors, a culture tent, and a children’s tent. It’s an event for all the family*.
The event is entirely non-profit, run by volunteers, with 100% of profits going to local groups and causes, plus an overseas cause each year.
Charlbury Beer Festival is once again proud to host the Aunt Sally Open Singles World Championship. The championship is a highlight of the festival day, with players travellings from over the country (and world!) to compete. Entries for the 2022 championship are now open on the festival website.
Entry only (adult) – £5.00 each
Entry with beer glass and £8.00 of tokens – &15.00 each
If you you want to drink beer or cider at CBF, you must buy one of our commemorative glasses. You will not be served if you bring your own glass.
The beer festival takes place at Charlbury Cricket Club, opposite Charlbury railway station OX7 3QG.
We recommend getting a train to Charlbury . However, car parking is available at the station (operated by APCOA).
Sorry, because of the rules concerning the cricket club hosting the festival, no dogs are allowed on the site except for assistance animals.
On the day, entry to the festival is £5.00 (free for under 18s). Beer and cider drinkers are required to purchase a glass (you will not be served without one) and tokens. £15.00 gets you entry, a glass, and £8.00 of drink tokens.
So, it’s £15.00 for beer/cider drinkers and £5.00 for other adults.
The festival operates a token system at most of the bars. Most ale is £2.00 for a half pint, while cider and craft beer is £2.50.
No. The organisers will not allow alcoholic drinks to be brought onto the festival site. This is primarily for licensing reasons but also because they’re trying to raise money for local causes.
You will only be served beer and cider in the official glass. This is make sure everyone pays the right entry fee and to make sure the correct measures are served. Of course, there’s nothing to stop you pouring that beer into a tankard afterwards!
Absolutely. Charlbury Beer Festival is a child-friendly, family event. Bring everyone (except pets please)!
Please take a card along for your entrance and drink tokens. Some food vendors may accept cash, as well as the soft drink and tea stalls.
No parking is allowed at the cricket club. You can park across the road at the railway station (operated by APCOA).
We expect that Beers will run out through the day. So the earlier you arrive, the more likely you’ll be able to choose from all the beers.
