Headington Market is a weekly Saturday Market featuring local produce and produce from further afield. The market is organised by Headington Action, a charity representing residents’ associations and other bodies with links to Headington. The market will continue to trade during lockdown, providing a Covid-secure outdoor environment for purchase of fresh food and other essentials, and take-away food and drink.
The market takes place on both sides of London Road, from the Royal Standard as far as Kennett Road, with some stalls in New High Street. The pedestrian crossing links the two sides of the market. During lockdown, the market temporarily took place at Quarry Hollow Park, off Quarry Road, Headington OX3 8NX.
Produce, much sourced locally, including fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and sausages, eggs, British cheese, bread, cakes and pastries, jams pickles and preserves, fresh fish and hot and cold street food and drinks.
The people of Headington get the opportunity to buy fresh, local produce; the stall fees are used by Headington Action to fund local community causes and to fulfil their mission of improving life for those who live, work and study in Headington. In short, almost everyone benefits!
Every Saturday from 9.30am to 2.00pm.
More information is available on the market’s website and their Facebook page.
