About Knight School at Oxford Castle & Prison
You are cordially invited to enrol on to Knight School at Oxford Castle & Prison.
Do you have what it takes to become a knight?
This summer, Empress Matilda is preparing to take back her sieged throne and has enlisted us at the castle to train her latest recruits for medieval battle. Our Knight School programme consists of an hour-long training session covering the essential skills needed to defeat Stephen, Empress Matildas’ cousin.
The apprentice knights will be trained in the following areas:
- Sword handling and fighting
- Archery skills
- Jousting skills
At the graduation ceremony, at the end of the session, our knights will be awarded their very own sword that they can keep and take home.
Knight Specifications
Our Knight School programme is recommended for children aged between 5 and 10 years old. Children must be accompanied by a parent/carer for the duration of the session
- Each session lasts an hour and is conducted by our qualified staff.
- All weapons used are safe and child-friendly.
- Tickets to our Knight School workshops do not include admission to the castle. Guided tours must be booked separately.
Date: From 26th July to 2nd September 2019
Time: 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Price: £9.50 per child, £16 for 2 children or £22.50 for 3 children
