About Nocturne Live 2021 at Blenheim Palace

Nocturne Live 2021 will turn The Great Court at Blenheim Palace into a grand arena with world-class acts and 7,000 seats. It can be an all-day affair with VIP dining in the famous State Rooms, a stroll in the palace’s vast grounds, or a waterside picnic. It can also be an evening gig for those who just want to hear their favourite live music.

Line-up

Headlining at next summer’s Nocturne Live are Lionel Richie, UB40 feat. Ali & Astro, and David Gray celebrating 20 years of ‘White Ladder’. Joining them across this series of one-off concerts are Deacon Blue, Jimmy Cliff, James Morrison and more.

Thursday 17 June

David Gray will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the wildly successful ‘White Ladder’ album. Featuring the hit singles ‘Babylon’, ‘Sail Away’ and ‘This Year’s Love’, ‘White Ladder’ is one of the top 10 best-selling albums of the 20th century in the UK. James Morrison will join the bill as a special guest, with Nerina Pallot to complete the lineup.

Friday 18 June

Simple Minds will perform to a greatest hits set featuring a selection of their best-known songs including, ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’, ‘Alive And Kicking’ and ‘Sanctify Yourself’. Support will come from fellow Scottish pop-rock band Deacon Blue, who enjoyed widespread success throughout the 1980s and ‘90s.

Saturday 19 June

Lionel Richie will perform to a sold out performance of his timeless hits include “Endless Love”, “Lady”, “Truly”, “All Night Long”, “Penny Lover”, “Stuck on You”, “Hello”, “Say You, Say Me” and “Dancing on the Ceiling”. His catalogue also includes his early work with The Commodores, whose smashes include “Three Times a Lady”, “Brick House”, “Still”, and “Easy.” Macy Gray will appear as a special guest for this concert. Completing the bill is emerging R&B vocalist Rob Green.

Sunday 20 June

UB40 feat. Ali & Astro will take the stage on Sunday to perform some of their best-known hits from their string of chart-topping albums. Expect ‘Red Red Wine’, ‘I Got You Babe’, ‘(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You’, ‘Kingston Town’ and many more hits. Opening the night will be Aswad, one of the UK’s most successful reggae bands. Grammy Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Jimmy Cliff will perform as a special guest.

Your Nocturne Live ticket will also allow you to do this when you arrive on the day. The Palace opens to the general public at 10.30 am and the last entry is 3.45pm. How to get to Nocturne Live 2021

Bus:
If you are travelling from the local Oxford area, the Oxford Bus Company will run a Special 500 Bus service which will pick up from Oxford Rail Station and stop at Summertown, Oxford Parkway Station and Kidlington en route to Blenheim Palace. The bus will return via the same route and will also stop at Pear Tree on the return journey. Buses will depart approximately every 30 minutes from Oxford Station between 9.00 am and 8.00 pm. After the concert, buses will leave when they are full. The last bus will depart 45 minutes after the concert finishes. You will have the opportunity to buy your bus tickets at the same time as your concert tickets.

Car:
If you do decide to drive, please be aware that Blenheim Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage site and its infrastructure wasn’t designed for a large number of cars to depart simultaneously at the end of a concert. There are three main exit roads that lead to a common main road which, despite our best efforts, can become congested at peak times.
