Oxford’s Christmas Light Festival 2019
Friday 15 November - Sunday 17 November
About Oxford's Christmas Light Festival 2019
Oxford's Christmas Light Festival 2019 is a 3-day festival of Arts, Culture and Christmas fun.
This annual festive celebration draws in local communities and visitors into Oxford’s city centre and is a highlight of Oxford’s cultural calendar. In 2018 the festival delivered 149 events to over 160,000 people in partnership with more than 30 cultural organisations and engaged with thousands of participants in festival projects and events.
Starting in 2009 as a single evening with a lantern parade at its heart, the festival now takes place over 3 days and includes light and sound installations, a festive market, music, dance and lots of free activities in venues across the city. The dfestival organisers are passionate about bringing free cultural experiences into the city centre for all to enjoy.
Hotspots of activity are in Broad Street’s Christmas market, Gloucester Green’s live dance stage, magical installations in the Castle Quarter and this year we were delighted to include Westgate Oxford into the mix as the lantern parade weaved through new spaces as well as historic ones.
