Pavlova Wind Quintet return for our traditional Christmas concert – that is sure to include well know carols, lollipops and some surprises – as part of Abbey Chamber Concerts.
The Pavlova Winds Quintet, based in Oxford and Abingdon, give concerts throughout Oxfordshire. The group was formed in 1999 by Simon Payne, along with fellow-founder members Carolyn King and Chris Britton.
The quintet has an impressively broad repertoire that includes music in several styles, from arrangements of light-hearted favourite tunes to the more substantial classics for wind quintet.
The Abbey Chamber Concerts is a series of chamber concerts by top-quality local musicians on one Sunday each month at the St Nicolas’ Church in Market Place, Abingdon from 3.00pm to 4.00pm.
Tickets cost £10 and accompanied children attend free. Tickets are available from Abbey Chamber Concerts website, at door, from 07775 904626, and from the performers.
There is free tea and coffee and an opportunity to talk to the musicians, after each concert.
