About the Service of Thanksgiving for the late Queen Elizabeth II

The University Church welcomes parishioners and the people of Oxford to a service of thanksgiving for the late Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday 15 September at 5.30pm.

The Rt Revd Steven Croft, the Bishop of Oxford, will deliver the sermon.

Everyone is welcome to attend. There will be no ticket required.

The Vicar, the Revd Dr William Lamb, said, “At a time of national mourning, it is important that there is an opportunity for the people of Oxford to gather together to honour the memory of Queen Elizabeth II.

St Mary’s is a place of welcome and hospitality, a place where Her Majesty visited in the course of her long reign. We look forward to welcoming you to the University Church for this service of prayer and remembrance.”

The University of Oxford will hold a Service of Thanksgiving and Commemoration on Sunday, 18 September. This will be a ticketed event for members of the University of Oxford.
