The Spooky Men's Chorale at New Theatre Oxford

About The Spooky Men’s Chorale

The man-choir emerged blinking-eyed from the Blue Mountains of NSW fifteen years ago and armed with no more than their impressively cavernous vocal cords, a nice line in deadpan, improbable facial hair and an ill-matched set of hats, have been gleefully wooing audiences throughout Australia, New Zealand and the UK ever since.

Renowned for a combination of Visigothic bravado, absurdist humour and eye-moistening tenderness, the Spookies, in middle age, are more masters of their territory than ever before, with five critically-acclaimed albums under their belt.

Brandishing a shiny brand new CD Welcome To The Second Half, the magnificent, craggy ensemble of heavenly singing male bodies return to the UK in 2019, ever more comfortable with their whimsical humour and musical breadth – a winning spectrum of Georgian songs, pin-drop beautiful ballads, highly inappropriate covers, and immaculate man anthems.
