About The Tempest at Laurence Hall Gardens, Cholsey
Theatre company This Is My Theatre are bringing their production of The Tempest to Cholsey this Summer. The socially distanced, open-air show will run at the Laurence Hall Gardens, Cholsey, on Saturday 19 June at 8.00pm.
“Hell is empty, and all the devils are here.”
For twelve years, Prospero, the rightful duke of Milan, has dwelt on an island after his brother Antonio betrayed him and cast him adrift in a small boat. For twelve years, he has plotted revenge on those who overthrew him...
The show will see classical language combined with live music and choral sea shanties to bring what is thought to be the bard’s final play to life. A tale of revenge, love and forgiveness, this is sure to delight audiences of all ages.
This Is My Theatre are very excited to be one of the first theatre companies dusting themselves off and getting back on the road and are sure that their fun-filled show (packed with action and live music) will bring some much-needed joy this Summer.
The production will be all that This Is My Theatre audiences have come to love about their shows, and they are excited to be re-engaging communities with the arts after these past few months of lockdown.
The Tempest at Laurence Hall Gardens is an open-air performance, so please bring chairs/blankets and picnics to enjoy whilst watching. The show will go on in all but the very worst weather.
