About Creation Theatre’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
There is no place like home!
Just like Dorothy, we might have been whisked away to a new reality we barely recognise, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be together at Christmas. Dial in to a brand new adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, with all the storytelling, songs, magic and togetherness that make a Creation Christmas show a tradition worth clinging on to.
For the first time you’ll be able join the same audience on Christmas Eve as your auntie in Australia or the cousins in Canada. This year we’re choosing to fill your homes with festive cheer, reaching out to more people than ever. Our online performance won’t exclude anyone who’s shielding, or ask you to take any risks to enjoy some festive fun.
Featuring the usual Creation Christmas team, live matinee and evening performances will take place online from 19 December – 3 January. Tickets are £30 per device, and if you book the same show as someone you know you’ll be able to spot them in the audience (Christmas hats optional!).

FAQs
Both the actors and the audience are creating the show in real time. You’re not watching a pre-recorded show, but a live performance being made as you see it. We have lots of clever tricks so the actors can have different effects and backgrounds, and of course, being Creation we’re working with Costume, Lighting and Sound Designers to bring that extra sprinkle of magic.
Because we think we can make the most exciting performances for our audiences using this Live Digital Theatre model. We can keep the sense of experiencing something together as an audience, as well as the excitement of watching a performer take risks and make choices at every show.
Rather than charging per person, we’ve decided to price our tickets ‘per device’. This means that you essentially purchase a login to the show on one computer or TV and as many people as you choose can watch that one device. Generally the per device price is roughly equivalent to one ticket to an in-person show.
