Both the exhibition and the book reflect on the decline of bird populations while celebrating their cultural and natural significance. \n\n\n\nCurated by Antonia Harrison\, the exhibition unfolds through seven themed sections – from nest and egg to feather\, flight and migration – combining original artwork and writing with treasures from the Bodleian’s extensive collections. \n\n\n\nVisitors can explore rare and historic material\, including previously unseen glass plate negatives by pioneering wildlife photographer Emma Louisa Turner\, alongside early nature photography from Richard Kearton and his brother Cherry. \n\n\n\nAlso on display are striking life-size illustrations from Birds of America by John James Audubon\, as well as a rare Great Auk egg on loan from Oxford University Museum of Natural History. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition also highlights birds’ enduring influence on culture\, featuring works such as Maya Angelou’s ‘Caged Bird’ and Percy Bysshe Shelley’s handwritten notes on ‘To a Skylark’. DESCRIPTION:Dinosaurs Are Forever at Blenheim Palace\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Dinosaurs Are Forever Exhibition  at Blenheim Palace\n\n\n\nFrom 11 August to 01 November 2026\, Blenheim Palace will host Dinosaurs Are Forever\, a major new exhibition by artist Jay Jay Burridge\, created in partnership with the Museum of Natural History\, University of Oxford.  \n\n\n\nAt the heart of the exhibition are five monumental sculptures of Megalosaurus\, the first dinosaur ever to be scientifically named.  \n\n\n\nDiscovered in Oxfordshire in 1824\, Megalosaurus changed our understanding of the natural world and helped lay the foundations of modern palaeontology. \n\n\n\nThe fossil remains of Megalosaurus are now on display at the Museum of Natural History\, University of Oxford. \n\n\n\nThese sculptures are not traditional museum reconstructions. Built from advanced modern materials and designed to be fully articulated\, the sculptures reimagine dinosaurs through a contemporary lens.  \n\n\n\nMaking their public debut at Blenheim Palace\, the exhibition offers visitors a rare opportunity to encounter the world’s first named dinosaur reimagined for the 21st century. DESCRIPTION:Sounds Of The 60s Live – Hosted By Tony Blackburn OBE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Sounds Of The 60s Live – Hosted By Tony Blackburn OBE\n\n\n\nBroadcasting legend Tony Blackburn OBE has announced a run of dates for his much-loved Sounds of the 60s Live Tour\, bringing the music\, memories and magic of the 1960s to theatres and concert halls across the UK in 2026. \n\n\n\nFollowing sold-out shows and standing ovations throughout 2025\, Sounds of the 60s Live Tour 2026 will kick off in March and run right through to November\, packed with the biggest hits from music’s most iconic decade.  \n\n\n\nThe show\, an adaptation of Tony’s longstanding BBC Radio 2 Sounds of the 60s slot which attracts millions of listeners every week\, will feature live music and stories from the most iconic decade in fashion\, music and pop culture.  \n\n\n\nThe setlist will feature fresh medleys from The Rolling Stones\, The Walker Brothers\, and some of the greatest soul tracks ever recorded\, alongside timeless classics from Diana Ross & The Supremes\, The Beatles\, The Beach Boys\, Stevie Wonder and much more. \n\n\n\n\n			\n				\n			\n		Sounds Of The 60s Live – Hosted By Tony Blackburn OBE\n\n\n\nTony Blackburn OBE said: “The reaction to these shows has been amazing — it’s pure joy seeing audiences singing and dancing along to the greatest decade of music.  \n\n\n\nEvery night feels like a celebration\, not just of the songs\, but of the memories they bring back. 2026 is going to be another fantastic year for the tour\, and I can’t wait to travel the country with this amazing band\, sharing the music I’ve loved my whole life.” \n\n\n\nJust over 60 years ago in the summer of 1964\, Tony started his incredible broadcasting journey off the coast of Essex on the airwaves of pirate station Radio Caroline. He then went on to launch and be the very first voice ever heard on BBC Radio 1 in 1967.  \n\n\n\nTony is widely regarded as a true pioneer of British broadcasting. His passion for soul music has defined much of his career and helped shape the UK’s music landscape.  \n\n\n\nOver the decades\, he has become a beloved figure on both radio and television. His illustrious career has seen him receive 37 industry awards\, among them two Gold Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Radio—first awarded in 1989 and again in 2014\, making him the only recipient of two lifetime achievement honours.  \n\n\n\nHe also received the Sony Award for Best Breakfast Show (Contemporary Music) in 1993 and the Radio Academy’s Music and Media Award in 1997.
