SUMMARY:Richard Ayoade - Afterthoughts
DESCRIPTION:Richard Ayoade – Afterthoughts \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Richard Ayoade – Afterthoughts \n\n\n\nJoin BAFTA-winning actor\, comedian\, director\, and writer Richard Ayoade for an evening of reflections as he shares insights from his latest book\, Afterthoughts\, or Some Pistachios Won’t Open: Wisdom for the Unreflective. \n\n\n\nPartially recognisable for being in The IT Crowd\, his acclaimed films Submarine and The Double\, he has also hosted TV landfill like Travel Man and The Crystal Maze\, and lent his nasal voice to The Boxtrolls\, Early Man\, Soul and The Bad Guys. \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n Richard Ayoade – Afterthoughts \n\n\n\nBut you may well know him best for his role as ‘photographer’ in The Life and Death of Peter Sellers in which he delivered the iconic line: ‘Please\, Mer Sellers\, can I get a shot of you and your mum?’ \n\n\n\nNow\, in the midst of some self-inflicted financial difficulty\, he turns to the stage\, inviting you to explore over 500 of his colossal notions. Thoughts like… \n\n\n\nWhere’s the box to tick if you are a robot? \n\n\n\nIf\, when one door shuts\, another door opens\, there’s something wrong with your doors. They shouldn’t be doing that. \n\n\n\nTV detectives need a gimmick. Mine would be not caring who did it. \n\n\n\nAfterthoughts goes beyond rumination\, past pondering\, probing further than ever before. Drawing from a deeply private pool of questions—a reservoir so refreshing you may never need to think again. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\n£36.16 – £103.98 \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee of £3.95 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nFriday 19 June 2026 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\nThis show has an interval \n\n\n\nAge guidance: \n\n\n\n16+ at the discretion of a parent or guardian. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout New Theatre Oxford\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nThere has been a theatre on George Street for almost 170 years.
