SUMMARY:Stewart Lee vs The Man-Wulf
DESCRIPTION:Stewart Lee vs The Man-Wulf\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Stewart Lee vs The Man-Wulf\n\n\n\nOxford Playhouse patron Stewart Lee is again back by popular demand with a brand-new show. \n\n\n\nLee shares his stage with a tough-talking werewolf comedian from the dark forests of the subconscious who hates humanity. The Man-Wulf lays down a ferocious comedy challenge to the culturally irrelevant and physically enfeebled Lee. \n\n\n\nCan the beast inside us all be silenced with the silver bullet of Lee’s unprecedentedly critically acclaimed style of stand-up? \n\n\n\nStewart Lee (“The world’s greatest living stand-up comedian” The Times)\, is in danger of being left behind. He’s approaching sixty with debilitating health conditions\, his TV profile has diminished\, and his once BAFTA award-winning style of stand-up seems obsolete. \n\n\n\nBut can Lee unleash his inner Man-Wulf to position himself alongside comedy legends like Dave Chappelle\, Ricky Gervais\, and Jordan Peterson at the forefront of side-splitting stadium-stuffing sh*t-posting? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“Basically\, back-to-basics Basic Lee is anything but”.  \n\n\n\nMail on Sunday on Stewart Lee: Basic Lee\, 2023 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n£29.50 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices:£29.50 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nMonday 03 February at 7.30pmTuesday 04 February at 7.30pmWednesday 05 February at 7.30pmThursday 06 February at 7.30pmFriday 07 February at 8.00pmSaturday 08 February at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time:140 minutes\, including an interval \n\n\n\nAge guidance:14+ \n\n\n\nContent guidance:This show includes strong language \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Oxford Playhouse\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nOxford Playhouse and its Burton Taylor Studio present and produce several live performances and feature a rich array of British and international dramas\, family entertainment\, contemporary dance and music\, student and amateur shows\, comedy\, lectures and poetry. \n\n\n\nThe Playhouse not only produces and tours its own theatrical productions\, but it also fosters creativity through its Artists in Residence program and the Playhouse Plays Out series\, which brings unique events to various locations across the county. \n\n\n\nThe theatre’s Participation Team engages over 15\,000 individuals annually\, offering an extensive range of activities\, including post-show discussions\, workshops\, work experience opportunities\, holiday programs\, a youth theatre\, and a company for young performers. \n\n\n\nOxford Playhouse stands dedicated to its mission of being a Playhouse for all\, striving to ignite inspiration and bring about transformative experiences through its commitment to creativity on its stages\, within its community and online. \n\n\n\nDiscover more about Oxford Playhouse\, including travel\, access and venue information.

SUMMARY:Zoe Lyons: Werewolf
DESCRIPTION:Zoe Lyons: Werewolf\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Zoe Lyons: Werewolf\n\n\n\nIf life is a journey\, Zoe’s has had more than its share of potholes and diversions: from diving with sharks to sitting in a shed in Vietnam with a former health secretary (and discovering that MPs aren’t the only parasites she has to worry about). \n\n\n\nNavigating the road to happiness can be exhausting and baffling; Zoe’s begun to think that even Wim Hof would prefer to be tucked up with a nice hot water bottle every now and then. \n\n\n\nBut Zoe’s been on that road long enough now that she’s felt a change – not as in the menopause. A real change. If happiness ends up being the best version of yourself\, Zoe is finally getting there. She is where she needs to be. She is… werewolf. \n\n\n\nThe host of BBC’s ‘Lightning’\, a regular on ‘Have I Got News For You’\, ‘QI’\, and ‘Mock The Week’ and a survivor of ‘Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins’ and ‘World’s Most Dangerous Roads’ on Dave – Zoe is one of the country’s best-loved comedians. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“A hugely enjoyable mix of brutal put-downs and richly funny stories\, Lyons has what it takes to delight any crowd.” \n\n\n\nGuardian \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n£19.00 \n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTickets prices:£19.00 \n\n\n\nAll prices include any booking fees \n\n\n\nDates & times:Friday 31 January 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nAge guidance:14+ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Theatre Chipping Norton\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Theatre Chipping Norton\, sometimes called The Theatre\, Chipping Norton or Chipping Norton Theatre\, is a theatre\, an arthouse cinema\, a gallery and a concert hall in Chipping Norton. \n\n\n\nThe theatre has has 217 seats\, including stalls and a balcony. It is a resource for the community\, and it is also a professional venue\, welcoming over 55\,000 customer visits every year. \n\n\n\nIt is something unique\, but it is also different things to different people. It is the cause and subject of many arguments and debates; and a fair amount of acclaim and affection. It is complicated and a little eccentric. \n\n\n\nIt is not a little theatre. SUMMARY:Ben Elton: Authentic Stupidity
DESCRIPTION:Ben Elton: Authentic Stupidity\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Ben Elton: Authentic Stupidity\n\n\n\nFollowing the huge success of Ben Elton’s critically acclaimed sold-out UK tour in 2019\, which marked his return to live comedy after a fifteen-year hiatus\, the undisputed godfather of modern stand-up is going back on the road with his new show – Authentic Stupidity. \n\n\n\nBen Elton first exploded into the national consciousness back in the 1980’s hosting Channel 4’s groundbreaking Saturday Live\, and he’s been setting the standard for gag-filled\, taboo-busting\, tonsil-rattling\, mind-expanding stand-up comedy ever since! \n\n\n\nBen Elton: Authentic Stupidity\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBen says: “Since my last live tour a whole new existential threat has emerged to threaten humanity! Apparently\, Artificial Intelligence is going to destroy us all!  \n\n\n\n“Well I reckon our real problem isn’t Artificial Intelligence it’s good old-fashioned Authentic Stupidity! Forget AI! SUMMARY:Alfie Moore: A Face for Radio
DESCRIPTION:Alfie Moore: A Face For Radio\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Alfie Moore: A Face for Radio\n\n\n\nThis is the true story of ‘Fair Cop’ Alfie’s big plan to transition from the BBC radio waves to TV star. Could it be done? Or had Father Time decided that his time had passed? \n\n\n\nSomewhere in a parallel universe\, little Alfie’s natural comedic performance skills were recognised by his doting parents\, who encouraged and developed his blossoming talent. After several years as a stage school brat\, Alfie’s angelic face was launched on stage and screen\, and the rest is history. \n\n\n\nMeanwhile\, in this universe\, Alfie Moore was told to stop messing about in class before being ‘encouraged’ into the grinding\, grimy world of an apprenticeship in the Sheffield steelworks. When the recession hit\, he traded steel for copper by joining Humberside Police. \n\n\n\nThirty years of shift work\, initially in the Sheffield steelworks and then as a copper on the beat (where he was punched in the face quite a lot)\, has left him with “a face for radio”. A face is not so much ‘lived in’ as inhabited by a settlement of squatters with little regard to property maintenance and repair. \n\n\n\nIn his 40s\, a surprising career shift turned middle-aged Alfie from street cop to BBC radio star. But when TV fame beckoned\, could he grasp it\, or was he past it? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“…offbeat\, revealing and very funny.” \nYou Magazine\n\n\n\n\n“…thoroughly engaging\, endlessly funny.” \nMature Times\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nAge guidance: 14+ \n\n\n\nDuration: 120 minutes\, including an interval \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Oxford Playhouse\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nOxford Playhouse and its Burton Taylor Studio present and produce several live performances and feature a rich array of British and international dramas\, family entertainment\, contemporary dance and music\, student and amateur shows\, comedy\, lectures and poetry.
