SUMMARY:Alfie Moore: A Face for Radio
DESCRIPTION:Alfie Moore: A Face For Radio\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Alfie Moore: A Face for Radio\n\n\n\nThis is the true story of ‘Fair Cop’ Alfie’s big plan to transition from the BBC radio waves to TV star. Could it be done? Or had Father Time decided that his time had passed? \n\n\n\nSomewhere in a parallel universe\, little Alfie’s natural comedic performance skills were recognised by his doting parents\, who encouraged and developed his blossoming talent. After several years as a stage school brat\, Alfie’s angelic face was launched on stage and screen\, and the rest is history. \n\n\n\nMeanwhile\, in this universe\, Alfie Moore was told to stop messing about in class before being ‘encouraged’ into the grinding\, grimy world of an apprenticeship in the Sheffield steelworks. When the recession hit\, he traded steel for copper by joining Humberside Police. \n\n\n\nThirty years of shift work\, initially in the Sheffield steelworks and then as a copper on the beat (where he was punched in the face quite a lot)\, has left him with “a face for radio”. A face is not so much ‘lived in’ as inhabited by a settlement of squatters with little regard to property maintenance and repair. \n\n\n\nIn his 40s\, a surprising career shift turned middle-aged Alfie from street cop to BBC radio star. But when TV fame beckoned\, could he grasp it\, or was he past it? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“…offbeat\, revealing and very funny.” \nYou Magazine\n\n\n\n\n“…thoroughly engaging\, endlessly funny.” \nMature Times\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nAge guidance: 14+ \n\n\n\nDuration: 120 minutes\, including an interval \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Oxford Playhouse\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nOxford Playhouse and its Burton Taylor Studio present and produce several live performances and feature a rich array of British and international dramas\, family entertainment\, contemporary dance and music\, student and amateur shows\, comedy\, lectures and poetry. \n\n\n\nThe Playhouse not only produces and tours its own theatrical productions\, but it also fosters creativity through its Artists in Residence program and the Playhouse Plays Out series\, which brings unique events to various locations across the county. \n\n\n\nThe theatre’s Participation Team engages over 15\,000 individuals annually\, offering an extensive range of activities\, including post-show discussions\, workshops\, work experience opportunities\, holiday programs\, a youth theatre\, and a company for young performers. \n\n\n\nOxford Playhouse stands dedicated to its mission of being a Playhouse for all\, striving to ignite inspiration and bring about transformative experiences through its commitment to creativity on its stages\, within its community and online. \n\n\n\nDiscover more about Oxford Playhouse\, including travel\, access and venue information.

SUMMARY:Jo Caulfield: Here Comes Trouble
DESCRIPTION:Jo Caulfield: Here Comes Trouble\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Jo Caulfield: Here Comes Trouble\n\n\n\nVoted ‘Comedians’ Comedian of The Year 2022’\, Jo Caulfield is “quite simply\, a damn funny woman.” (The Guardian) \n\n\n\nJo has appeared on Mock The Week\, Have I Got News For You\, The John Bishop Show\, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow\, The Royal Variety Performance\, and Richard Osman’s House of Games. \n\n\n\nNominated as “the best female Stand Up in the country” (Chortle) and “one of the Top 100 Comedians” (Channel 4)\, Jo is a regular on Radio 4 and a returning guest on Breaking The News. Jo’s first book\, “The Funny Thing About Death”\, was published in August 2023. \n\n\n\nHere Comes Trouble is 90 minutes of razor-sharp observations and scandalous one-liners as Jo gets her claws into everything (and everyone) that annoys her. \n\n\n\nFrom stories about arguing with strangers on trains to dealing with over-enthusiastic supermarket staff and trying to recapture the magic in a long-term relationship to “helping” organise her newly divorced friend’s dating life\, this is pure stand-up\, delivered with nothing more than a microphone and a bad attitude. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTrailer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“One of the finest female comedians at work.” \nThe Observer\n\n\n\n\n“Sharp-witted urban comedy that goes down a treat… like a sociology textbook but with jokes.” \nThe Times\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll prices include any booking fees. \n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nAge guidance: 16+ \n\n\n\nDuration: 1 hour 45 minutes\, including an interval. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Theatre Chipping Norton\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Theatre Chipping Norton\, sometimes called The Theatre\, Chipping Norton or Chipping Norton Theatre\, is a theatre\, an arthouse cinema\, a gallery and a concert hall in Chipping Norton. \n\n\n\nThe theatre has has 217 seats\, including stalls and a balcony. It is a resource for the community\, and it is also a professional venue\, welcoming over 55\,000 customer visits every year. \n\n\n\nIt is something unique\, but it is also different things to different people. It is the cause and subject of many arguments and debates; and a fair amount of acclaim and affection. It is complicated and a little eccentric. \n\n\n\nIt is not a little theatre. It likes to make a big noise. \n\n\n\nDiscover more about The Theatre Chipping Norton\, including travel\, access and venue information.

\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nAge guidance: 14+ \n\n\n\nDuration: 110 minutes\, including an interval. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Kenton Theatre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nSituated in the centre of Henley-on-Thames\, the Kenton Theatre is the fourth-oldest working theatre in the UK and a registered charity.
