She has been returning ever since. \n\n\n\nElisabeth often includes music by Robert Schumann in her programmes and her finale tonight is his Carnival-Jape from Vienna. Schumann was staying in the city\, trying without any success to interest the Viennese publishers in his music journal. \n\n\n\nIt was a bleak time\, he was homesick and missing his beloved Clara. SUMMARY:St John’s International Piano Series: Yuko Sano
DESCRIPTION:About St John’s International Piano Series: Yuko Sano\n\n\n\nRobert Schumann (arr. Busoni) Chaconne from Violin Partita no.2\, BWV 1004 \n\n\n\nJapanese pianist Yuko Sano gave her first international recital at the age of 8 and has since performed at venues across Europe\, South America and Asia. In April 2026\, she made her recital debut at Suntory Hall\, Tokyo\, with the programme that she presents tonight. \n\n\n\nIt is a lovely programme: sunny Mozart\, sparkling Scarlatti\, Chopin strutting proudly\, Schubert’s Theme and Variations\, and the excitement of a UK premiere. Framing all this\, are arrangements of works originally composed for other instruments. \n\n\n\nWidmung is the love song that Robert Schumann gifted to Clara on the eve of their long-delayed marriage. The Chaconne started life as a partita for solo violin – Busoni took just the final movement and transformed it into a wonderfully dramatic and dignified stand-alone piece for piano. A splendid finale. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £15.00 \n\n\n\nAll orders will be subject to a per transaction booking fee of £1.50 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nSaturday 01 October at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nDoors open at 7.00pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n2 hours including an interval \n\n\n\nGood to know: \n\n\n\nBuying a season ticket (top three price bands only)Buy a ticket for every concert in the series\, within the same transaction\, to benefit from a 20% discount. Growing up in a musical family\, Holly honed her craft for over a decade performing semi-professionally before an audition on ITV’s Starstruck changed her life. “I had to audition as three of my musical icons\, and Tina was an obvious choice for me. During lockdown\, I studied her performances obsessively\, getting into her moves\, her walk\, and her energy.” \n\n\n\nIt wasn’t long before the team behind What’s Love Got To Do With It? noticed Holly’s raw talent and passion. Initially cast as a backing singer and understudy\, Holly quickly stepped into the spotlight\, making the lead role her own and earning standing ovations night after night. \n\n\n\nAudiences can expect a show bursting with energy\, emotion\, and that signature Tina fire. The production kicks off with hits like Private Dancer\, as Holly fully inhabits Tina’s powerful vocals and unmistakable moves\, transporting fans to the heart of a live Tina Turner concert experience. Then\, in the show-stopping second half\, the audience is guaranteed to be on their feet\, dancing and singing along to high-octane classics like Nutbush City Limits. \n\n\n\nWhat’s Love Got To Do With It? isn’t just a concert – it’s a celebration of Tina Turner’s legacy\, a night of unrelenting joy\, and a tribute to one of the most electrifying performers in music history. \n\n\n\nPlease note that this is a tribute production and is not endorsed by or affiliated with the Tina Turner Estate. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat’s Love Got To Do With It?
