SUMMARY:The Dung Beatles: 60th Anniversary of 'Help!' And 'Rubber Soul'
DESCRIPTION:The Dung Beatles: 60th Anniversary of ‘Help!’ And ‘Rubber Soul’\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Dung Beatles: 60th Anniversary of ‘Help!’ And ‘Rubber Soul’\n\n\n\nThe Dung Beatles are regarded as one of the best Beatles bands in the UK and indeed the world. Formed in Aylesbury in 2013 the band has created a big fanbase\, having played extensively in the UK and France. \n\n\n\nThe band played their first Friars gig at the Waterside in March 2018\, playing a set as part of the Earthly Messenger Bowie Statue unveiling concert. A year later in Friars Aylesbury’s 50th Anniversary year\, they headlined the Waterside playing the Abbey Road album in its entirety. \n\n\n\nIn 2022 Friars presented the band at two special sold-out Ukraine benefit concerts in St Mary’s Church\, Aylesbury which raised over £20\,000 for the DEC Ukraine appeal. The Dung Beatles have also played the Beatles spiritual home\, the iconic Cavern in Liverpool\, on two occasions. \n\n\n\nThe Dung Beatles: 60th Anniversary of ‘Help!’ And ‘Rubber Soul’\n\n\n\nThe band is Steve Hillier (guitars/vocals)\, Phil Toler (bass/harmonica/vocals)\, Danny Prendergast (guitars/vocals)\, Mike Ashton (drums/vocals) and Martin Kent (keyboards/vocals). Their joyous live performances\, which feature superb harmonies and attention to musical detail (without any use of backing tracks or programming)\, are the hallmarks of their success. \n\n\n\nThe Beatles Help! album was released in the UK on 6 August 1965 and their Rubber Soul album was released just 4 months later on 3 December 1965. Rubber Soul\, with hits such as In My Life\, Norwegian Wood\, Drive My Car\, Michelle\, and Nowhere Man is regarded by many Beatles fans to be their finest album. \n\n\n\nThe Help album with hits such as Ticket to Ride\, You’ve Got to Hide Yourself Away\, I’ve Just Seen a Face\, Yesterday\, and Help! was part of the soundtrack of the sixties not only in the UK but all around the world. It’s a testament to John\, Paul\, George\, and Ringo that they could write and record two such classic albums in just a few months. They were at the height of their creative powers which established them as the world’s most iconic band of the twentieth century. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTickets prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £18.70 \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee of £3.95 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nFriday 03 October 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nMain auditorium \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Aylesbury Waterside Theatre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nAylesbury Waterside Theatre is a stunning modern venue at the heart of Buckinghamshire’s cultural scene. \n\n\n\nOpened in 2010\, its striking wooden interior takes inspiration from the rolling Chiltern Hills\, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. SUMMARY:LEVEL 42 - World Machine 40th Anniversary Tour
DESCRIPTION:LEVEL 42 – World Machine 40th Anniversary Tour\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout LEVEL 42 – World Machine 40th Anniversary Tour\n\n\n\nLevel 42 are delighted to announce that they will embark upon The ‘World Machine’ 40th Anniversary Tour in 2025. \n\n\n\n‘World Machine’ was the album that changed everything for Level 42\, and set them on the path to true super-stardom. Released in 1985\, it was a hit both here and in the States\, and has now been certified double Platinum. It was on this album\, the band’s sixth\, that arguably they nailed down the sound and the style that made them one of the biggest groups in the world. \n\n\n\nOn this album\, they refined the funky pop fusion that had grown from their jazz roots – and had already brought them serious success – and truly made it their own. ‘World Machine’ features the singles Something About You (the band’s only American top 10 hit) and Leaving Me Now\, and it showed the band’s progression in style and confidence that would lead to their massive Running In The Family album the following year. \n\n\n\nLEVEL 42 – World Machine 40th Anniversary Tour\n\n\n\nMark King said\, “I am so excited to be able to announce The ‘World Machine’ 40th Anniversary Tour for 2025. As our amazing fans will know\, World Machine marked a turning point in the band’s career\, not least in the international success the album gave us. So\, I am looking forward to seeing you all out there next Autumn when we can romp through all those songs again together. Love to all\, Mark X”. \n\n\n\nFour decades on from the release of‘ World Machine’\, Level 42 are still in demand the world over. SUMMARY:The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican: The Winter Woollies Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican: The Winter Woollies Tour \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican: The Winter Woollies Tour\n\n\n\nFounded in Barnsley Rock City in 2006 by their outspoken and energetic ringleader\, Scott Doonican\, The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican are on a mission! \n\n\n\nFar from being your typical folk ensemble\, this cult-like collective of like-minded knit-wear enthusiasts are determined to follow in their spiritual father’s immortal footsteps and keep his legacy alive. \n\n\n\nScott and his brothers-from-other-mothers\, Alan\, J.R.\, and Mo-Jo\, have quite the talent for Bar-Stewardizing other famous people’s songs with new satirical comedy lyrics\, on folk instruments\, and to complete their outrageously understated image\, the Doonicans have become instantly recognisable for their immaculate hair and their stylish choice of sexy knitwear\, and instantly memorable for their lairy\, no-holds-barred\, anarchic live shows. \n\n\n\nA group that is both perpetually on the move\, ever-evolving\, and joyously independent\, they have played close to 1300 side-splitting shows to date\, and have brought smiles and belly laughs to audiences across the UK; from Barnsley to Barnstaple\, from Glastonbury to Glasgow. \n\n\n\nThey continue to wow audiences with a fine selection of their greatest hits\, including the likes of ‘Jump Ararnd\,’ ‘The Lady In Greggs\,’ ‘How Deep Is Your Glove?’ ‘Paint ’em Back\,’ ‘Goat Yoga\,’ and ‘If I Could Punch A Face… It’d Be Justin Bieber’s.’ \n\n\n\nThey have written and recorded eleven studio albums\, independently released over 40 live recordings\, successfully crowd-funded nine separate independent vinyl releases\, played on top of mountains\, wowed-festival goers across the length and breadth of the UK\, had six different beers brewed and named in their honour by four different breweries (one of which\, ‘Doonicans’ is an award winning part of the brewery’s core range of ales). \n\n\n\nThey have sold outaward-winnin six consecutive shows on a Mississippi paddle-steamer on the Norfolk Broads in less than 20 seconds\, hosted their own sell-out music and comedy festivals\, written & performed in their musical\, are featured in the Experience Barnsley Museum Music Archives\, hold the bar-takings record for at least ten theatres\, and have been the recipients of six different individual awards as voted for by the public in the Barnsley Music Awards. \n\n\n\nThey played the Avalon Stage at Glastonbury Festival\, and to 20\,000 people at Fairport’s Cropredy Convention (twice!). They even scaled the dizzy heights of a #1 and a #2 single and a #2 album on the iTunes Comedy Charts (plus a National chart position in the Top 100)! That’s not too shabby for a daft little unsigned comedy folk band from Barnsley\, who manage themselves\, eh? \n\n\n\nThe Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican can’t wait to bring their shindig (and their new line-up) to the Mill Arts Centre\, and they promise they will rock you… but gently! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“The greatest thing to come out of Barnsley\, since the A61 to Sheffield.” \n\n\n\nJarvis Cocker\, Pulp \n\n\n\n\n\n“Always enjoy the boys from The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican. When the North goes independent I am suggesting ‘ Too Good To Be Jus’ is our national anthem. Great fun.” \n\n\n\nJason Manford\, comedian \n\n\n\n\n\n“The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican are very\, very funny… parodists extraordinaire. One of the hardest working and best live acts on the planet. Bringing light to dark corners and joy to babes and toothless mumblers alike. Lovely stuff.” \n\n\n\nMike Harding\, comedian\, folk musician\, author & broadcaster \n\n\n\n\n\n“An act that you will wanna go and see over and over again. Absolutely hilarious.” \n\n\n\nDave Pegg\, Fairport Convention \n\n\n\n\n\n”The 8th wonder of the world is actually in Yorkshire… a wonderful Yorkshire genius collective known as The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican. To see them is to know true magnificence.” \n\n\n\nKate Rusby\, Multi-Award Winning Folk-Musician. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices:From £23.00 \n\n\n\nDates & times:Saturday 11 October 2025 at 8.00pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Mill Arts Centre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Mill Arts Centre is the cultural hub for Banbury and the surrounding area. \n\n\n\nAs the only dedicated arts provision in the area\, it aims to inspire creativity and enrich the lives of the communities by providing a high-quality\, varied artistic\, educational and participatory programme. \n\n\n\nIt plays a significant role in the town’s cultural\, social and economic development by offering the community the chance to engage with and be entertained by several art forms. \n\n\n\nThe Mill Arts Centre offers an exciting live events programme\, including theatre\, dance\, music\, comedy\, film\, workshops and classes. SUMMARY:Rick Wakeman - Six Wives + King Arthur
DESCRIPTION:Rick Wakeman -Six Wives + King Arthur\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Rick Wakeman – Six Wives + King Arthur\n\n\n\nIn February 2023\, Rick Wakeman CBE and the English Rock Ensemble performed three classic works from his prog rock back catalogue over two nights in what have since become legendary sell-out concerts at the London Palladium. \n\n\n\nThe response from fans and critics alike was so enthusiastic that Rick subsequently decided to take the band on the road for a UK tour\, The Return Of The Caped Crusader\, the following year\, comprising of the programme from the second night’s concert Journey To The Centre Of The Earth\, combined with a medley of YES hits. \n\n\n\nRick Wakeman -Six Wives + King Arthur\n\n\n\nAgain\, the response was rapturous with standing ovations at every show\, but it left fans demanding: what about a repeat performance of the programme from the first night at the Palladium? That wish will be granted in October 2025\, when Rick and the English Rock Ensemble will take to the road again\, this time performing The Six Wives Of Henry VIII and The Myths And Legends Of King Arthur And The Knights Of The Round Table. \n\n\n\nThe musical line-up will be the same as on the first tour\, with Rick\, of course\, leading the band on keyboards\, brilliantly supported by Dave Colquhoun (guitars and backing vocals)\, Adam Falkner (drums)\, Lee Pomeroy (bass and backing vocals) and Adam Wakeman (keyboard\, guitars and backing vocals). Mollie Marriott will again be lead vocalist\, with three yet-to-be-announced backing singers. \n\n\n\nRick comments\, “For me\, historical events\, myths and legends\, and great stories\, should never have a date stamped on them\, as they will be talked about for centuries to come. Henry’s wives and King Arthur are great examples of ‘here forever’. \n\n\n\n“Writing music for all these fascinating people was magical and thoroughly enjoyable in every aspect\, and so to still be playing both of these suites of music at the age of 76 is also another remarkable milestone in my life. \n\n\n\n“With a stunning array of musicianship surrounding me\, I only wish I could be in the audience watching and listening\, so all those sitting out there will have to do it for me!” \n\n\n\nDon’t miss this unlikely-to-be-repeated opportunity to hear two classic epics by one of the true legends of progressive rock\, Rick Wakeman\, and his band of superb musicians when they tour the UK. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTickets prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £52.08 \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee of £3.95 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nSunday 12 October 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nMain auditorium \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Aylesbury Waterside Theatre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nAylesbury Waterside Theatre is a stunning modern venue at the heart of Buckinghamshire’s cultural scene. \n\n\n\nOpened in 2010\, its striking wooden interior takes inspiration from the rolling Chiltern Hills\, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. SUMMARY:Carmen Rose Davidson album launch: Sincerely Yours
DESCRIPTION:Carmen Rose Davidson – Album Launch of Sincerely Yours\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Carmen Rose Davidson – Album Launch of Sincerely Yours\n\n\n\nSinger-songwriter Carmen Rose Davidson brings her new album ‘Sincerely Yours’ to Oxford this October\, marking the culmination of a decade-long creative journey. \n\n\n\nThe evening promises to showcase Davidson’s unique approach to music – what she calls “contradiction as art form.” Blending theatrical glamour with raw authenticity\, her sound refuses categorisation\, drawing from Gospel\, Blues Rock\, Country\, and 80s influences with equal passion. \n\n\n\n‘Sincerely Yours’ represents Davidson’s most personal work yet\, exploring mental health\, the impact of eating disorders\, scars of domestic violence\, relationships\, faith\, love\, and resilience with unflinching honesty. \n\n\n\nThe album was expedited following a personal loss earlier this year\, adding urgency to songs that were already deeply felt. \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n Carmen Rose Davidson – Album Launch of Sincerely Yours\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDavidson’s credentials speak for themselves – performances at the BBC\, The Roundhouse\, Camden\, and The Queen’s Jubilee have established her as a strong live performer. Her multicultural background and genre-blending approach create something distinctly her own in today’s music landscape. \n\n\n\nThe Bullingdon provides the perfect intimate setting for an artist who describes her mission as creating “real music for real feelings.” Expect powerhouse vocals\, genuine storytelling\, and an evening that celebrates both the beautiful and broken aspects of human experience. \n\n\n\nThis isn’t just an album launch – it’s an invitation into Davidson’s world\, where vulnerability meets strength and authenticity reigns supreme. \n\n\n\nTo check out Carmen’s vibe please visit carmenrosedavidson.co.uk & Youtube @carmenrosedavidson \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nThe event will run on a donation basis.
