SUMMARY:Jack Savoretti
DESCRIPTION:Jack Savoretti\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Jack Savoretti\n\n\n\nJack Savoretti’s ninth studio album\, We Will Always Be The Way We Were\, is a bold return to his musical roots\, recorded at Eastcote Studios in West London. \n\n\n\nMarking 20 years since his debut album Between the Minds\, the record finds Savoretti reconnecting with the raw storytelling and cinematic soul that defined his earliest work. \n\n\n\nWritten and recorded with his long-time touring band\, the album celebrates the craft\, camaraderie and creative freedom that have carried him through two decades at the forefront of British songwriting. \n\n\n\n“This is a full-circle album\,” says Jack. “It’s going back to my roots\, to the neighbourhood where I first started making music – with the same friends and musicians I met around Ladbroke Grove and Portobello Road. It’s the album I always wanted to make when I was starting out but didn’t yet have the courage or experience to make. Now I do.” \n\n\n\nJack’s current single\, the title track from the album\, has just been added to the BBC Radio 2 A List and the beginning of the month saw him performing the track on Graham Norton. \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n Jack Savoretti\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nDate & time: \n\n\n\nSaturday 07 November 2026 \n\n\n\nDoors open at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nAge guidance: \n\n\n\nU16s must be accompanied by an adult 18+.                                       \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout New Theatre Oxford\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nThere has been a theatre on George Street for almost 170 years. DESCRIPTION:Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective: Making Chamber Music Part I\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective: Making Chamber Music Part I\n\n\n\nAn early evening concert that brings together musicologist Professor Laura Tunbridge and the brilliant Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective.  \n\n\n\nThis special performance invites audiences to explore the intimate side of chamber music\, with works written for one to five players. \n\n\n\nFrom the quiet intensity of solo performance to the rich interplay of small ensembles\, the programme explores how chamber music thrives in small-scale settings.  \n\n\n\nIncluding a solo work from Bach\, a Corelli Trio Sonata\, and Ligeti’s Six Bagatelles for wind quintet\, Professor Tunbridge will introduce each piece\, sharing historical and musical insights to reveal how the number of players shapes the music.  \n\n\n\nThis is music at its most personal: no conductor\, one player per part\, and every voice heard.  \n\n\n\nPerformers: \n\n\n\nAdam Walker flute \n\n\n\nArmand Djikoloum oboe \n\n\n\nCristina Mateo Sáez clarinet \n\n\n\nAmy Harman bassoon \n\n\n\nAnnemarie Federle horn \n\n\n\nElena Urioste violin \n\n\n\nRosalind Ventris viola \n\n\n\nLaura van der Heijden cello \n\n\n\nCarina Cosgrave double bass \n\n\n\nTom Poster piano \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“Fierce and assertive\, fragile and ecstatic\, all done with textural clarity and exemplary control of pacing.” \n\n\n\nThe Strad \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £15.40 – £30.80  \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nTuesday 10 November 2026 at 5.00pm \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nSohmen Concert Hall

DESCRIPTION:Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective: Making Chamber Music Part II\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective: Making Chamber Music Part II\n\n\n\nProfessor Laura Tunbridge and the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective return to the stage for an evening of music that explores larger chamber music ensembles.  \n\n\n\nThis concert continues the journey begun earlier in the evening\, gradually expanding the ensemble to include up to nine players. As more musicians join the stage\, the music becomes richer and more layered.  \n\n\n\nIncluding extracts from Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire\, Warlock’s The Curlew and Schubert’s Octet\, and culminating in a rare performance of Louise Farrenc’s Nonet\, Professor Tunbridge will introduce the works and share insights on how ensemble size shapes the character\, structure\, and emotional impact of the music.  \n\n\n\nWhether you’re attending both concerts or just the evening performance\, this is a chance to experience chamber music in all its depth and diversity and to discover something new along the way. \n\n\n\nPerformers: \n\n\n\nAdam Walker flute \n\n\n\nArmand Djikoloum oboe \n\n\n\nCristina Mateo Sáez clarinet \n\n\n\nAmy Harman bassoon \n\n\n\nAnnemarie Federle horn \n\n\n\nElena Urioste violin \n\n\n\nRosalind Ventris viola \n\n\n\nLaura van der Heijden cello \n\n\n\nCarina Cosgrave double bass \n\n\n\nTom Poster piano \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“Fierce and assertive\, fragile and ecstatic\, all done with textural clarity and exemplary control of pacing.” \n\n\n\nThe Strad \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £15.40 – £30.80  \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nTuesday 10 November 2026 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nSohmen Concert Hall

SUMMARY:Monteverdi Choir and Orchestras: Handel’s Theodora
DESCRIPTION:Monteverdi Choir and Orchestras: Handel’s Theodora\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Monteverdi Choir and Orchestras: Handel’s Theodora\n\n\n\nHandel’s great oratorio is one of the most celebrated choral works of the 18th century. A radical vision of faith and freedom. \n\n\n\nPerformed by the Monteverdi Choir and English Baroque Soloists\, under the direction of Christophe Rousset\, this concert staging brings new light to Handel’s masterpiece.  \n\n\n\nTheodora is a much loved oratorio and a powerful 18th-century vision of utopia. Set in Roman-occupied Antioch\, it tells the story of a Christian martyr who defies empire in the name of faith and freedom. \n\n\n\nTheodora offers a vision of moral clarity\, spiritual courage\, and inner freedom. Its radiant music and intimate drama offer a vision of a better world: one governed by conscience\, not coercion.  \n\n\n\nPerformers: \n\n\n\nMarie Lys Theodora \n\n\n\nIestyn Davies Didymus \n\n\n\nAlice Coote Irene \n\n\n\nGuy Cutting Septimius \n\n\n\nJohn Chest Valens \n\n\n\nJonathan Hanley Messenger \n\n\n\nMonteverdi Choir and English Baroque Soloists \n\n\n\nChristophe Rousset conductor \n\n\n\nRepertoire: \n\n\n\nHandel Theodora \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“The Monteverdi Choir has dominated the choral scene worldwide … their singing remains wonderfully committed and scrupulously focused.” \n\n\n\n\nThe Guardian \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nAdult – From £34.65 \n\n\n\nStudent – From £15.00 \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nWednesday 18 November 2026 at 7.00pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n3 hours\, including an interval \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nSohmen Concert Hall

SUMMARY:St John’s International Piano Series: Benjamin Grosvenor
DESCRIPTION:About St John’s International Piano Series: Benjamin Grosvenor\n\n\n\nSofia Gubaidulina Chaconne \n\n\n\nWolfgang Amadeus Mozart Piano Sonata no.13\, K.333 \n\n\n\nLudvig van Beethoven Piano Sonata no.14\, op.27 no.2 ‘Moonlight’ \n\n\n\nInterval \n\n\n\nAlexander Scriabin Piano Sonata no.2\, op.19 \n\n\n\nFerenc Liszt Three Petrarch Sonnets \n\n\n\nFrédéric Chopin Piano Sonata no.2\, op.35 \n\n\n\nBenjamin Grosvenor programmes some all-time favourites – Beethoven’s lovely ‘Moonlight’ sonata for one – but he also springs surprises. The opening Chaconne is by Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina\, who died recently. \n\n\n\nThe piece was a commission from a prize-winning pianist and\, as Gubaidulina explained\, she kept the pianist’s specific abilities very much in mind as she worked. The result is wonderfully virtuosic. \n\n\n\nScriabin’s reputation for being difficult came late\, his sonata no.2 is readily accessible and filled with delicate imagery. \n\n\n\nThe sea was his inspiration: he has sunlight dancing on waves\, gentle moonbeams in the dark of night and sombre agitation from the depths. The piece is fiendishly challenging\, a treat to hear it performed live. \n\n\n\nAccess to St John’s College Auditorium \n\n\n\nConcert-goers are asked to enter St John’s College via the back gate at 8 Parks Road\, OX1 3PD (shortly before the traffic lights with South Parks Road). This accessible entrance provides quick and direct access to the Auditorium. The gate will be open from 7.00 pm on concert evenings. Please note\, concert-goers will not be permitted access via the St John’s Main Lodge on St Giles. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFrom 30.00 \n\n\n\nAll orders will be subject to a per transaction booking fee of £1.50 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nWednesday 18 November at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nDoors open at 7.00pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n2 hours\, including an interval \n\n\n\nGood to know: \n\n\n\nBuy a ticket for every concert in the series\, within the same transaction\, to benefit from a 20% discount. SUMMARY:Instruments of Time and Truth - Baroque: Celestial Art
DESCRIPTION:About Instruments of Time and Truth – Baroque: Celestial Art\n\n\n\nAn 80th Birthday Celebration of Edward Higginbottom \n\n\n\nOn the eve of St Cecilia’s Day\, Instruments of Time & Truth and the Oxford Consort of Voices gather in the University Church under Edward Higginbottom for an evening that marks three occasions at once. \n\n\n\nHenry Purcell’s peerless ode Hail! Bright Cecilia\, first heard in 1692\, stands beside the Dies irae of Michel-Richard de Lalande\, written in 1690 for the funeral rites of the French Dauphine and performed here in the tercentenary year of the composer’s death. \n\n\n\nComposed within two years of one another\, the two works catch the English and French baroque at their height and reveal how differently each tradition spoke. The evening closes with the last of Handel’s coronation anthems\, My heart is inditing. \n\n\n\nThe occasion is also a celebration of Edward Higginbottom’s eightieth year. He is joined by fourteen soloists from the Oxford Consort of Voices and a large period-instrument ensemble of strings\, oboes\, flutes\, bassoon\, trumpets\, timpani and organ\, with additional singers in the Handel. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £15.00 \n\n\n\nAll orders will be subject to a per transaction booking fee of £1.50 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nSaturday 21 November at 6.30pm \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6.00pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n2 hours\, including an interval

Now\, he juggles studies on the dual degree programme at Harvard-New England Conservatory with an international concert career. \n\n\n\nRyan starts his programme with Mozart’s delightful set of variations on the French folk song ‘Ah vous dirai-je\, Maman’ (a melody also used for Twinkle Twinkle Little Star). \n\n\n\nNext come the set of Impromptus that Schubert wrote around a year before his early death. Four distinct pieces that can range from despair to joy in the space of a few bars. \n\n\n\nTwo works by Chopin follow the interval\, first a nocturne and then Piano Sonata no.3. SUMMARY:Corvus Consort: Welcome Joy + A Ceremony of Carols
DESCRIPTION:Corvus Consort: Welcome Joy + A Ceremony of Carols\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Corvus Consort: Welcome Joy + A Ceremony of Carols\n\n\n\nCorvus Consort’s upper voices with Louise Thomson (harp)\, directed by Freddie Crowley \n\n\n\nCorvus Consort’s upper voices join with harpist Louise Thomson to present a festive concert\, featuring music celebrating women’s voices from their acclaimed album ‘Welcome Joy’ alongside Benjamin Britten’s iconic Ceremony of Carols. \n\n\n\nThe first half of the programme comprises a selection of music from ‘Welcome Joy’\, which was released in 2024 on Chandos Records. A celebration of women’s voices\, both as singers and composers\, the album received five stars from BBC Music Magazine\, who also named it one of their ’13 best classical albums of 2024’. \n\n\n\nImogen Holst’s characterful Keats setting Welcome Joy and Welcome Sorrow opens the programme\, before a set of beautiful works by living composers Judith Weir\, Olivia Sparkhall and Hilary Campbell\, all commissioned by Multitude of Voyces to mark International Women’s Day in 2019. \n\n\n\nThen comes Elizabeth Poston’s remarkable An English Day-Book\, a cycle of eleven short movements charting the course of a day in the English countryside\, packed with strikingly vivid depictions of bells\, clocks\, songbirds\, owls\, and a mischievous bumblebee. \n\n\n\nThe second half is where things get festive\, opening with a selection of a cappella Christmas pieces by Elizabeth Poston\, Howard Skempton and Peter Maxwell Davies\, as well as the medieval carol Ther is no rose of swych vertu. Harp and voices will also sound together in the magical Peace on Earth by current Master of the King’s Music Errollyn Wallen. \n\n\n\nFinally\, Corvus and Louise will perform Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols\, undoubtedly the most famous composition that exists for women’s voices and harp. \n\n\n\nMirroring Poston’s cycle at the end of the first half\, the Ceremony of Carols also consists of eleven movements\, in this case setting a series of medieval carol texts\, with perfectly judged musical moods shifting between the lyrical\, poignant\, and joyful. \n\n\n\nIt is one of the best-loved works in the English Christmas repertory\, and will bring the concert to a fabulous festive close. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“Dazzling … under its founder-director Freddie Crowley\, Corvus Consort is always full of fresh thinking.”  \n\n\n\nBBC Music Magazine \n\n\n\n\n\n“Clean\, clear voices\, impeccable intonation and a direct\, engaged way with the texts.”  \n\n\n\nLimelight Magazine \n\n\n\n\n\n“An innovative and top-drawer ensemble.”  \n\n\n\nThe Arts Desk \n\n\n\n\n\n“The 12 superb sopranos and altos of the Corvus Consort sing the complex\, close-knit textures of these works with delicacy and pinpoint accuracy. Louise Thomson’s immaculate\, virtuosic harp playing conjures scenes that take us from scented gardens to sun-baked landscapes and haunted moonlit forests.”  \n\n\n\nBBC Music Magazine \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFull price – £20.00 \n\n\n\nAges 18 to 25 and disability – £15.00 \n\n\n\nUnder 18 – £8.00 \n\n\n\nAll orders will be subject to a per transaction booking fee of £1.50 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nThursday 26 November 2026 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nDoors open at 7.00pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n2 hours\, including an interval
