With balloon and flight-themed crafts\, channel your inner pilot and watch your creations fly. \n\n\n\nThese sessions are led by Dr Kate Castleden. \n\n\n\nThere are 3 sessions\, each session is 1 hour: 11.00am-12.00pm\, 1.00pm-2.00pm\, 2.30pm-3.30pm. \n\n\n\nPlease make sure to arrive on time. We allow a 10-minute grace period for late arrivals. After this point\, we cannot guarantee admission to the activity. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is suitable for ages 5-11. \n\n\n\nTickets cost £3.00 per child and can be purchased online via Eventbrite (booking fee applies) or at the Museum Shop. Each child ticket includes free entry for one accompanying adult. Head to MOX to create and play board games based on archaeological finds. \n\n\n\nCreate paper board games and tokens based on those found by archeologists. Take your games away with you to play at home! \n\n\n\nThis session runs from 11.00am-1.00pm. You can drop in and out any time during these 2 hours. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is suitable for ages 5+ \n\n\n\nTickets cost £1.50 per child. A child ticket includes access for one accompanying adult. Tickets can be purchased online via Eventbrite (booking fee applies) or at the Museum Shop. \n\n\n\nChildren must be supervised by an adult at all times. \n\n\n\nWe recommend booking in advance to secure your place. \n\n\n\nSales from tickets help support our work to deliver fun and accessible family activities\, community engagement projects\, schools workshops\, exhibitions and special events for Oxford’s people in our Museum spaces. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFurther information\n\n\n\nScaffolding at Oxford Town Hall: \n\n\n\nFrom August 2025\, scaffolding will be in place outside Oxford Town Hall. Both entrances to the Town Hall (main steps and level access entrance) will remain fully open and accessible while these essential maintenance works are carried out. More information can be found on our Plan Your Visit page. \n\n\n\nAccess: \n\n\n\nThere is step-free\, level entry access to the Town Hall via the entrance closest to Carfax Tower (to the left of the main steps as you face the Town Hall). Inside the Museum\, Museum Makers is accessible via a platform lift to the Galleries and then a lift to the basement. \n\n\n\nAccessible toilets are available in the Museum (close to Museum Makers) and in the Town Hall on the ground floor\, before entering the Museum. Please contact the Museum team if you’d like to talk to a member of staff about your access requirements. DESCRIPTION:Summer Family Fun: Treasured\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Summer Family Fun: Treasured\n\n\n\nFamilies are invited to enjoy a summer of free activities at Blackwell Hall in Weston Library\, inspired by the Bodleian’s Treasured exhibition.  \n\n\n\nChildren can take part in trails\, storytime sessions\, crafts and keepsake printing\, with plenty to discover for all ages.  \n\n\n\nHighlights include doodling on a giant colouring roll\, exploring the Toddleian space for little ones\, and trying out hands-on activities such as matching book-making materials through history. \n\n\n\nSpecial pop-up events will also run on selected dates\, including a curator’s mini tour\, meet-and-greet sessions with guide dogs\, and a visit to the Bodleian Book Hospital where conservation experts share tips on caring for books. \n\n\n\nSessions take place on Thursday 31 July\, Friday 8 August\, Friday 15 August\, Friday 22 August and Thursday 28 August 2025\, between 11am and 3pm.
