SUMMARY:Rave On For The Avon with Director Q&A (12A)
DESCRIPTION:Rave On For The Avon with Director Q&A (12A)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Rave On For The Avon with Director Q&A (12A)\n\n\n\nDirected by Charlotte Sawyer \n\n\n\nOne-off screening featuring a panel discussion and Q&A with director Charlotte Sawyer and ‘Big Oil’ whistleblower Caroline Dennett. \n\n\n\n‘Rave On For The Avon’ is a compelling documentary that delves into the heart of the River Avon community\, highlighting the passionate efforts of local swimmers\, scientists\, and even a mermaid as they unite to protect and preserve their cherished river. \n\n\n\nThe film underscores themes of environmental activism\, community resilience\, and the profound connection between people and their natural surroundings. \n\n\n\nEngland is one of only two countries in the world with a fully privatised water and sewage system. With just 14% of its rivers in good ecological health\, the effort to keep them clean is falling short. \n\n\n\nIn this inspiring documentary\, director Charlotte Sawyer follows a community of wild swimmers in Bristol as they grapple with the impact of raw sewage pollution in the River Avon. Determined to reclaim their waters\, they take on water companies and local authorities in a fight for cleaner\, healthier rivers. \n\n\n\nAbout Caroline Dennett \n\n\n\nCaroline Dennett is an environmental activist and whistleblower committed to corporate accountability. After witnessing sewage dumping in her hometown of Weymouth\, she launched the #DontPayForDirtyWater campaign in 2023\, urging consumers to boycott water bills in protest. \n\n\n\nAn Extinction Rebellion activist since 2019\, she has secured media coverage in The Telegraph\, The Observer\, iNews\, the BBC\, and local press. As a Shell Oil whistleblower\, Caroline publicly resigned in 2022 after 11 years as a safety consultant\, exposing the company’s environmental harm and greenwashing\, a move that went viral. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWatch the trailer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“Campaigning never looked so fun and friendly as it does in this joyous documentary.” ★★★★ \n\n\n\nCath Clarke\, The Guardian \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nAdult – £11.50 \n\n\n\nSenior Citizen – £10.50 \n\n\n\nStudent – £9.50 \n\n\n\nClaimant – £9.50 \n\n\n\nChild – £6.50 \n\n\n\nFamily (multiples of 4) – £7.50 x 4 = £30.00 \n\n\n\n15 – 25 Member – £6.50 \n\n\n\nCarer (CEA Card) – £11.50 \n\n\n\nA 75p online booking fee per ticket applies. \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nThursday 24 April 2025 at 6.15pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n1 hour 26 minutes \n\n\n\nFilm rating: \n\n\n\n12A

SUMMARY:Exhibition on Screen: Dawn Of Impressionism - Paris 1874
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition on Screen – Dawn Of Impressionism: Paris 1874\, 90′\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Exhibition on Screen – Dawn Of Impressionism: Paris 1874\, 90′\n\n\n\nThe Impressionists are the most popular group in art history – millions flock every year to marvel at their masterpieces. But\, to begin with\, they were scorned\, penniless outsiders. \n\n\n\n1874 was the year that changed everything; the first Impressionists\, “hungry for independence”\, broke the mould by holding their own exhibition outside official channels. Impressionism was born and the art world was changed forever. \n\n\n\nExhibition on Screen – Dawn Of Impressionism: Paris 1874\, 90′\n\n\n\nWhat led to that first groundbreaking show 150 years ago? Who were the maverick personalities that wielded their brushes in such a radical and provocative way? The spectacular Musée d’Orsay exhibition brings fresh eyes to this extraordinary tale of passion and rebellion. The story is told not by historians and curators but in the words of those who witnessed the dawn of Impressionism: the artists\, press\, and people of Paris\, in 1874. See the show that changed everything on the big screen. \n\n\n\nMade in close collaboration with the Musee d’Orsay and National Gallery of Art\, Washington D.C. \n\n\n\nThis is a screening\, not a live performance. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTickets prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £14.85 \n\n\n\nNo transaction fees \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nTuesday 18 March 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nNorman Bragg Studio \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Aylesbury Waterside Theatre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nAylesbury Waterside Theatre is a stunning modern venue at the heart of Buckinghamshire’s cultural scene. \n\n\n\nOpened in 2010\, its striking wooden interior takes inspiration from the rolling Chiltern Hills\, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. SUMMARY:Hard Truths
DESCRIPTION:Hard Truths\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Hard Truths\n\n\n\nLegendary filmmaker Mike Leigh returns to the contemporary world with a fierce\, compassionate\, and often darkly humorous study of family and the thorny ties that bind us. \n\n\n\nReunited with Leigh for the first time since multiple Oscar-nominated Secrets and Lies\, the astonishing Marianne Jean-Baptiste plays Pansy\, a woman wracked by fear\, tormented by afflictions\, and prone to raging tirades against her husband\, son\, and anyone who looks her way. \n\n\n\nMeanwhile\, her easygoing younger sister\, played by Michele Austin (Another Year)\, is a single mother with a life as different from Pansy’s as their clashing temperaments – brimming with communal warmth from her salon clients and daughters alike. \n\n\n\nThis expansive film from a master dramatist takes us into the intensities of kinship\, duty\, and the most enduring human mysteries: that even through lifetimes of hurt and hardship\, we still find ways to love those we call family. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n”Mike Leigh’s latest is a scorchingly funny drama of depression\, rage – and love.” ★★★★ \n\n\n\nThe Telegraph \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n£8.00 – £11.00 \n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTickets prices:Standard tickets – £11.00Under 16s – £8.00 \n\n\n\nAll prices include any booking fees \n\n\n\nDates & times:Sunday 09 March 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time:1 hour 37 minutes \n\n\n\nFilm rating:15 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Theatre Chipping Norton\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Theatre Chipping Norton\, sometimes called The Theatre\, Chipping Norton or Chipping Norton Theatre\, is a theatre\, an arthouse cinema\, a gallery and a concert hall in Chipping Norton. \n\n\n\nThe theatre has has 217 seats\, including stalls and a balcony. SUMMARY:Royal Ballet and Opera: Swan Lake
DESCRIPTION:Royal Ballet and Opera: Swan Lake\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Royal Ballet and Opera: Swan Lake\n\n\n\nPrince Siegfried chances upon a flock of swans in the swan lake while out hunting.
