SUMMARY:Exhibition on Screen: Dawn Of Impressionism - Paris 1874
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition on Screen – Dawn Of Impressionism: Paris 1874\, 90′\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Exhibition on Screen – Dawn Of Impressionism: Paris 1874\, 90′\n\n\n\nThe Impressionists are the most popular group in art history – millions flock every year to marvel at their masterpieces. But\, to begin with\, they were scorned\, penniless outsiders. \n\n\n\n1874 was the year that changed everything; the first Impressionists\, “hungry for independence”\, broke the mould by holding their own exhibition outside official channels. Impressionism was born and the art world was changed forever. \n\n\n\nExhibition on Screen – Dawn Of Impressionism: Paris 1874\, 90′\n\n\n\nWhat led to that first groundbreaking show 150 years ago? Who were the maverick personalities that wielded their brushes in such a radical and provocative way? The spectacular Musée d’Orsay exhibition brings fresh eyes to this extraordinary tale of passion and rebellion. The story is told not by historians and curators but in the words of those who witnessed the dawn of Impressionism: the artists\, press\, and people of Paris\, in 1874. See the show that changed everything on the big screen. \n\n\n\nMade in close collaboration with the Musee d’Orsay and National Gallery of Art\, Washington D.C. \n\n\n\nThis is a screening\, not a live performance. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTickets prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £14.85 \n\n\n\nNo transaction fees \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nTuesday 18 March 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nNorman Bragg Studio \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Aylesbury Waterside Theatre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nAylesbury Waterside Theatre is a stunning modern venue at the heart of Buckinghamshire’s cultural scene. \n\n\n\nOpened in 2010\, its striking wooden interior takes inspiration from the rolling Chiltern Hills\, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The theatre regularly hosts top touring productions\, offering audiences the chance to enjoy big-name shows and world-class entertainment without heading to London. \n\n\n\nDesigned for comfort and accessibility\, the venue features step-free access\, wheelchair spaces\, and hearing loop systems. SUMMARY:Hard Truths
DESCRIPTION:Hard Truths\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Hard Truths\n\n\n\nLegendary filmmaker Mike Leigh returns to the contemporary world with a fierce\, compassionate\, and often darkly humorous study of family and the thorny ties that bind us. \n\n\n\nReunited with Leigh for the first time since multiple Oscar-nominated Secrets and Lies\, the astonishing Marianne Jean-Baptiste plays Pansy\, a woman wracked by fear\, tormented by afflictions\, and prone to raging tirades against her husband\, son\, and anyone who looks her way. \n\n\n\nMeanwhile\, her easygoing younger sister\, played by Michele Austin (Another Year)\, is a single mother with a life as different from Pansy’s as their clashing temperaments – brimming with communal warmth from her salon clients and daughters alike. \n\n\n\nThis expansive film from a master dramatist takes us into the intensities of kinship\, duty\, and the most enduring human mysteries: that even through lifetimes of hurt and hardship\, we still find ways to love those we call family. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n”Mike Leigh’s latest is a scorchingly funny drama of depression\, rage – and love.” ★★★★ \n\n\n\nThe Telegraph \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n£8.00 – £11.00 \n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTickets prices:Standard tickets – £11.00Under 16s – £8.00 \n\n\n\nAll prices include any booking fees \n\n\n\nDates & times:Sunday 09 March 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time:1 hour 37 minutes \n\n\n\nFilm rating:15 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Theatre Chipping Norton\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Theatre Chipping Norton\, sometimes called The Theatre\, Chipping Norton or Chipping Norton Theatre\, is a theatre\, an arthouse cinema\, a gallery and a concert hall in Chipping Norton. \n\n\n\nThe theatre has has 217 seats\, including stalls and a balcony.
