Whether you are looking for music\, theatre\, comedy nights\, lectures\, conferences or even weddings\, it is the venue for you. \n\n\n\nThe Corn Exchange\, Witney\, was built by the private Corn Exchange Company in 1863\, replacing a 16th-century building used in the 1850s as a corn returns office. This beautiful stone building was designed by architect J. Collier of Putney in an Italianate style and\, by 1875\, was Witney’s leading building. \n\n\n\nFrom the outset\, it was used for social events and meetings as well as corn dealings and housed several clubs and societies. The building continues to fulfil this purpose and will continue to do so in the future. \n\n\n\nWith the 19th-century building incorporating all the character you would expect\, plus the addition of modern facilities\, and not forgetting the in-house café and bar 1863\, The Corn Exchange is a destination and focal point for the people of West Oxfordshire and beyond. \n\n\n\nDiscover more about the Corn Exchange\, Witney\, including travel\, access and venue information.

Well\, here’s The Man With No Shame. \n\n\n\nJulian Clary\, renowned homosexual and national trinket\, is fixing to saddle up and head on out for his 2024 UK tour. \n\n\n\n“Yes\, it has a Western theme\,” the old buckaroo confirms\, sipping Bourbon from a pint tankard. “It was only a matter of time before I eased myself into some chaps”\, he adds\, dabbing his temples with a damp flannel. \n\n\n\nJulian is sure that the men in the audience will be so eager to join his posse they won’t be able to keep their hands off his Rawhide.  \n\n\n\nThe lucky few will play with him on stage in the Hang ‘em Low saloon\, where Wild Bill Hickok used to meet his special friend\, Raving Clarence la Fruit.  \n\n\n\nBut life in the Old West was tough. SUMMARY:Dorchester-on-Thames Festival
DESCRIPTION:About the Dorchester-on-Thames Festival\n\n\n\nThe biennial Dorchester-on-Thames Festival is one of Oxfordshire’s leading Festivals and is based in and around the stunning location of Dorchester Abbey. \n\n\n\nThe Dorchester Festival takes place this Spring from 03 to 12 May\, with an exciting collection of over 50 events packed into just 10 days at the Abbey. \n\n\n\nThis year\, the festival is partnering with the incredible local charity Restore\, who support individuals to live with increased freedom from the constraints of mental ill health through therapeutic activity\, coaching and learning. \n\n\n\nHighlights in 2024 include the return of world-class classical group The Tallis Scholars\, the BBC Elstree Concert Band\, the now legendary abseil down the Abbey’s 100ft tower\, cookery workshops by top chefs\, comedy\, folk and jazz nights\, a gift and food fair\, and even a duck race. \n\n\n\nRestore will be adding its own activities focused on mental health and wellbeing. \n\n\n\nDorchester Festival was started in 2005 following a significant restoration of Dorchester Abbey. It was initially a way of encouraging new people into the building and showing the potential of the Abbey as a venue for different events. \n\n\n\nOver time\, this event has evolved into a significant community gathering. It provides members of the rural South Oxfordshire community with the chance to create\, participate in\, and enjoy large-scale professional arts events that are typically not accessible in their locale. \n\n\n\nThe organisers raise money across the festival and then share the profits equally between the Abbey and a different local charity every time. It is run entirely by volunteers who take on roles such as organising events\, taking tickets or simply pouring tea. \n\n\n\nSince 2005\, the festival has regularly attracted over 3\,000 people each year\, from followers of the arts to schools\, families and children of all ages and has raised £250\,000 for Dorchester Abbey and local charities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVisit the festival box office to book your tickets. \n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nDates\, times & prices:Please see individual event lisitings on the box office website for dates\, times and prices.
