DESCRIPTION:Canal Crafts\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Canal Crafts\n\n\n\nBe inspired by the history of Oxford’s canals and try your hand at a unique traditional craft! Decorate a wooden spoon in the famous ‘Roses and Castles’\, or come up with your own design. \n\n\n\nThis event will run from 10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm (closed for lunch between 12.30pm-1.30pm). You are able to drop into the Museum Makers space at any time when the canal craft activity session is running. \n\n\n\nThis activity is suitable for ages 5+. \n\n\n\nTickets cost £1.50 and can be booked online via Eventbrite or at the Museum Shop. Each child’s ticket includes entry for one accompanying adult. Please ensure children are supervised at all times. \n\n\n\nThere is one spoon available for each ticket purchased. We recommend booking in advance to secure your wooden spoon! \n\n\n\nSales from tickets help support our work to deliver fun and accessible family activities\, community engagement projects\, schools workshops\, exhibitions\, and special events for Oxford’s people in our Museum spaces. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFurther information\n\n\n\nScaffolding at Oxford Town Hall: \n\n\n\nFrom August 2025\, scaffolding will be in place outside Oxford Town Hall. Both entrances to the Town Hall (main steps and level access entrance) will remain fully open and accessible while these essential maintenance works are carried out. More information can be found on our Plan Your Visit page. \n\n\n\nAccess: \n\n\n\nThere is step-free\, level entry access to the Town Hall via the entrance closest to Carfax Tower (to the left of the main steps as you face the Town Hall). Inside the Museum\, Museum Makers is accessible via a platform lift to the Galleries and then a lift to the basement. \n\n\n\nAccessible toilets are available in the Museum (close to Museum Makers) and in the Town Hall on the ground floor\, before entering the Museum. Please contact the Museum team if you’d like to talk to a member of staff about your access requirements. Seating 240\, the theatre today offers a varied programme of comedy\, drama\, music\, talks and more – as well as being available for hire. \n\n\n\nThe theatre is home to annual performances from Henley Amateur Operatic and Drama Society (HAODS)\, Henley Children’s Theatre\, Henley Drama Festival\, Henley Literary Festival\, Henley Players\, Henley Youth Festival\, Mike Hurst\, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO)\, Woodley Light Operatic Society\, amongst others.
