DESCRIPTION:About Pick your own Pumpkins at Millets Farm\n\n\n\nMillets Farm’s pumpkin field is set to open again this Autumn\, offering families the chance to pick plump pumpkins\, explore spooky props\, and enjoy a fun-filled seasonal experience.  \n\n\n\nWith a range of Halloween-themed decorations and plenty of photo opportunities\, visitors can grab a wheelbarrow and choose pumpkins of all shapes\, sizes\, and colours—perfect for cooking or carving. \n\n\n\nThe pumpkins are homegrown at Millets Farm. Early in the season\, visitors may see the original stalks where pumpkins were harvested\, and the patch is regularly topped up from other parts of the farm to ensure a plentiful supply for all. \n\n\n\nSpecial sessions are also available\, including SEND sessions with reduced noise and exclusive early access\, and a Dog Day for four-legged friends. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPick your own Pumpkins at Millets Farm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTicket prices vary depending on the date attending. Online prices start from £1.50 to £3.00 per person. Families can wander through the pumpkin field to pick their own farm-grown pumpkins and squashes in a rainbow of colours\, perfect for Halloween. \n\n\n\nThe experience offers plenty to keep everyone entertained. Guests can admire creative displays and installations in the beautifully decorated pumpkin tunnel\, enjoy a variety of interactive fete games\, whizz around the track on mini tractors\, and try their hand at mini golf.  \n\n\n\nStory corner and song time will run throughout the day\, while tractor and trailer rides provide the best view of the pumpkin patch. Children can also climb and play on the bale stack and are encouraged to dress up for a chance to win in the daily fancy dress competition. \n\n\n\nLive music will add to the festive atmosphere each day\, alongside a wide choice of food and drink. Guest food trucks and a licensed bar will complement the Tractor Café\, which will be serving Halloween-inspired specials all day long. \n\n\n\nRectory Farm promises an October experience full of fun\, festivity\, and seasonal charm—one not to be missed. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking and visitor information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTickets are priced at £8.50 per person (inclusive of booking fee). Children under 2 go free and don’t require an entry ticket. \n\n\n\nBooking tickets in advance is strongly advised as they cannot guarantee availability on the day. \n\n\n\nTickets give you access to: \n\n\n\n\n6.6 acres of pumpkin fields\, with 25\,000+ pumpkins grown this year (20+ different varieties)\n\n\n\nUndercover garden games\n\n\n\nFun photo opportunities all over the farm\n\n\n\nEntertaining farm characters\n\n\n\nTractor and trailer rides (weather dependent)\n\n\n\nStraw bale maze\n\n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\n\nThe event runs on weekends of 04/05\, 11/12\, 18/19 and then daily from 25 to 31 October.\n\n\n\nOn days outside this in October\, visitors are welcome to visit the pumpkin fields and choose pumpkins without a ticket\, but please note there will be no entertainment on these days.\n\n\n\n\nOpening times: \n\n\n\n\nThe café opens at 9.00am and closes at 5.00pm daily (4.00pm on Sundays).\n\n\n\nYour ticket is valid for the whole day.\n\n\n\nFirst entry is at 9.30am\, and the event finishes daily at 5.00pm.\n\n\n\nThe last entry is at 4.00pm. No refunds will be given to those arriving after this time.\n\n\n\nOn Sundays\, the event closes at 4.00pm\, with the last entry at 3.00pm.\n\n\n\nThe farm shop will be open from 9.00am to 5.30pm daily (4.00pm on Sundays).\n\n\n\nThe kitchen closes at 2.00pm daily.\n\n\n\nThe Pumpkin Patch opens at 8.30am every day\, with 30 minutes entry slots bookable until 3.30pm. The event closes daily at 5.00pm\, with last entry at at 5.00pm. Your ticket is valid for the whole day.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVisitor information\n\n\n\n\nTickets are non-refundable or transferable to another day. If you cannot attend on the day you have booked\, you are welcome to pass your tickets on to friends and family who can enter the event with your booking reference – no need to let us know in advance.\n\n\n\nIf Rectory Farm cancels the event you are booked on\, a full refund will be issued.\n\n\n\nDogs on leads are allowed in the cafe and play area but not in the Pumpkin Patch event.\n\n\n\nOn event days\, there will be no access to the PYO field or site without a ticket. The shop\, cafe and wooden play area will be open as usual for all visitors\, and ready-picked pumpkins can be purchased here if preferred.\n\n\n\nWristbands will be issued to all visitors and inspected around the site.\n\n\n\nRectory Farm cannot guarantee that all pumpkin varieties will be available for picking every day.\n\n\n\nRectory Farm has made every effort to grow quality pumpkins. However\, they cannot guarantee that all pumpkins will last until 31 October.\n\n\n\nThe ground will be wet and uneven\, so wear wellies and bring weather-appropriate clothing.\n\n\n\nThe fields will not be closed on rainy days\, and tickets will not be transferable because of the weather.\n\n\n\nAll children under 16 must be closely supervised at all times.\n\n\n\nPumpkins can be paid for in the farm shop or the outdoor payment huts before leaving the site. Cash and card payments are accepted.\n\n\n\nThe ground is uneven in places on the farm\, making it likely difficult for pushchairs or wheelchairs.\n\n\n\nIn addition to the café offering snacks\, hot and cold lunches\, and hot and cold drinks\, there will be a coffee van and food vendors on site close to the pumpkin fields and some indoor and outdoor seating.\n\n\n\nPlease note that only food purchased on the premises can be consumed during your visit. No picnics\, please.\n\n\n\nThere is ample parking on site. Please be prepared for a ten-minute walk from your parking space to the ticket entry.\n\n\n\nPlease bring strong carrier bags to carry your pumpkins home. Rectory Farm can provide lightweight plastic bags for 10p each.\n\n\n\nStandard orange pumpkins and crown prince squashes will be charged at £1.20/kg\, reduced to £1/kg if a single pumpkin is over 8kg in weight. Any other varieties are charged at £2.50/kg.\n\n\n\nTractor/trailer rides are included in the ticket price but depend on the weather. They are run at the discretion of Rectory Farm based on weather and ground conditions.\n\n\n\nToilets can be found close to the event hub\, with additional toilet facilities in the play area behind the shop and café and in the pumpkin field.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGetting there\n\n\n\nPut postcode OX33 1HF in your Sat Nav then follow the road signs as you get closer. The  farm shop\, pick your own and cafe entrance is opposite to our main farm yard so you might even spot a tractor. \n\n\n\nThere’s plenty of free parking and disabled spaces near the top of the car park by the shop. There are several varieties and sizes\, which are priced between £1.00 and £10.00 each. \n\n\n\nThe Pumpkin BarnHere\, you can collect a carving kit to transform your pumpkins. Please note that pumpkin carving can be dangerous and is only for adults over 16. Under 16s can get involved in designing the pumpkin and removing the inside pulp and seeds. There will also be pens available to decorate your pumpkin. You can chat with the cooks\, taste the delicious dishes (from pumpkin soup to pumpkin cake to pumpkin pickle) and take away new ideas for pumpkin feasting.​ \n\n\n\nGoblin HuntIt is well known that every pumpkin patch is plagued by Pumpkin Goblins searching for and stealing pumpkins. The Goblins are terrible\, messy creatures\, and they cause a lot of damage. The farmers spend hours each night chasing them away. We ask our visitors to help in the mission\, and you may even catch sight of one. \n\n\n\nThe Goblin LaunchGoblins are notoriously hard to catch. But when caught\, the farmers launch them in the Trebuchet (a type of catapult). This doesn’t hurt the Goblins; it gets rid of them for a short while!. \n\n\n\nSpooky Sensory TrailUse your five senses to explore the wooded area on the farm. The trail is approximately 400m long; although it is flat\, off-road pushchairs are advised. \n\n\n\nBuild A ScarecrowHelp scare the Goblins away by teaming up with your friends/family to build a scarecrow. Don‘t forget to take a scarecrow selfie! \n\n\n\n​​The Pumpkin Bale MazeFind your way through the maze and find the multi-coloured pumpkins. Designed for smaller children.​​​​​ \n\n\n\n​The Golden PumpkinEvery day\, a Golden Pumpkin appears on the farm. The sessions are led by artist Kate Castleden. \n\n\n\nThere are 3 sessions\, each session is 1 hour: 11.00am to 12.00pm\, 1.00pm to 2.00pm\, 2.30pm to 3.30pm. \n\n\n\nPlease make sure to arrive on time. A 10 minute grace period is allowed for late arrivals.
