Little nature enthusiasts can make their very own bug home for insects to stay cosy in during the colder months. \n\n\n\nHead to Adventure Play for hours of fun and exploring as well as Pip and Posy’s Rainbow Treasure Hunt to follow. For a bit of calm time\, come along to one of our Pip and Posy-themed storytelling or friendship bracelet making sessions too.  \n\n\n\nExplore the 2\,000-acre ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland including the Gardens  – why not take a winter stroll to see if you can spot any snowdrops peeking through?  \n\n\n\nVenture through the ancient oak woodland for a longer walk\, then download the Blenheim Bird Bingo sheet and try to get a full house of feathered friends\, keeping your eyes and ears open for the wonderful wildlife such as deer\, muntjacs or even otters as well as red kites\, herons\, robins\, blackbirds and blue tits. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBeyond the Walled Garden\n\n\n\nIf you’re after even more fun and adventure\, head through the secret door in the wall to the Adventure Play\, where a whole other world of excitement awaits. \n\n\n\nAlongside the watercourse\, slides\, swings and tunnels\, energetic youngsters can stay even more active with the dance sessions led by staff\, and mini artists can take part in pebble painting to create their own natural masterpieces. Don’t forget to settle down for the animal-themed storytelling sessions afterwards. \n\n\n\nEveryone of all ages can enjoy the excitement of the Adventure Play area – whether you’re zooming along the zip-lines or exploring the twisting tunnels\, we want you to have fun and create memories with your loved ones. \n\n\n\nExplorers will love playing in all of the different zones of the Adventure Play\, from the vegetable patch to the wilderness. DESCRIPTION:Thames Valley Early Music Forum\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Thames Valley Early Music Forum\n\n\n\nHenry Purcell  \n\n\n\nMovements from Come\, ye Sons of Art and the symphony and choruses from Ode to St Cecilia’s Day \n\n\n\nA workshop for voices and baroque orchestra (A=415) \n\n\n\nDirected by Benjamin Nicholas \n\n\n\nSingers and baroque instrumentalists are invited to a day of choruses and other highlights from two of Purcell’s best-known odes – Come ye Sons of Art\, composed for Queen Mary’s birthday in 1694\, and Hail\, bright Cecilia! First performed at Stationers’ Hall on St Cecilia’s Day in 1692.  \n\n\n\nApplications are invited from singers and instrumentalists who play strings (viol and violin families)\, oboe\, bassoon\, and continuo (you will need to bring your own plucked or keyboard instrument). \n\n\n\nTo be sure\, the natural trumpets and timpani have already been invited. Wind players – please indicate on the form if you would be happy to sing if places for your instrument are full. \n\n\n\nAlthough\, the number of wind instruments will be limited\, expect that extra wind will be allowed\, including recorders\, to play in the short session after lunch when we do the Symphony from the Ode to St Cecilia’s Day. These extra wind players will need to sing in the other sessions. \n\n\n\nThe pitch will be A=415. The plan is to do movements from Come\, ye Sons of Art in the morning\, including the chorus Come ye sons of art\, Sound the trumpet\, The day that such a blessing gave\, See nature rejoicing\, and probably the Symphony. \n\n\n\nIn the afternoon\, there is an aim to do movements from the Ode to St Cecilia: 1 Symphony (rehearsed straight after lunch)\, 2 Hail Bright Cecilia\, 5 Soul of the World\, 6 Thou tuned’st this world 1-34 Symphony\, and 69-102 chorus\, and 13 Hail bright Cecilia chorus. Any solo sections that we do will be sung tutti. \n\n\n\nSingers are encouraged to download and print their scores or read them from a tablet\, but we can provide you with a printed copy. Please indicate your preference when you book.  \n\n\n\nThese two CPDL editions will be used: \n\n\n\n\nHenry Purcell: Come\, ye Sons of Art\n\n\n\nHenry Purcell: Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day\n\n\n\n\nAll instrumental parts will be provided on the day\, but can be found on CPDL if you want to look at them in advance. \n\n\n\nThe Thames Valley Early Music Forum is for people who play early instruments or sing early music\, both amateurs and professionals.  About once a month we put on one-day workshops with professional conductors\, often well-known experts in their field\, covering a wide range of baroque and renaissance music.   \n\n\n\nEvery two months\, members receive our newsletter ‘Tamesis’ which contains information about our workshops and those in other parts of the UK\, as well as a list of local early music concerts\, articles and members’ advertisements.   \n\n\n\nMembers have cheaper admission to our own workshops and those of other forums.  The area officially covered includes London and Oxford and the counties in between but there are members from all over southern England. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nWorkshop fee: \n\n\n\n\nEarly Music Forum and Keble members – £16.00\,  \n\n\n\nFull time students – £5.00\, \n\n\n\nNon-members – £20.00.\n\n\n\n\nTVEMF membership to the end of 2025 costs £6.00 by Standing Order (£9.00 by BACS or cheque) –  Application Form. \n\n\n\nDates & times:Saturday 21 February 2026 at 11.00amDoors open at 10.30am \n\n\n\nRunning time:6 hours 30 minutes\, including an interval
