SUMMARY:St Giles’ Fair 2026
DESCRIPTION:St Giles’ Fair at Oxford City Centre\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout St Giles’ Fair 2026\n\n\n\nSt Giles’ Fair 2026 will take place on Monday 07 and Tuesday 08 September\, from 11.00am to 11.00pm on both days. \n\n\n\nSt Giles’ Fair is one of the greatest and most prestigious in the country. The fair dates back to 1625 when it was a parish festival to celebrate the feast of the patron saint\, St Giles\, and is held on the Monday and Tuesday following the first Sunday after St Giles’ Day (01 September). \n\n\n\nIn the 18th century\, it was a toy fair\, and then in the early 19th century\, it was a general children’s fair. The funfair grew during mid and late Victorian times when improved means of transport meant that large numbers of people could be brought into the city to attend the festivities. It was also when the forerunners of today’s rides were first developed following advances in mechanical engineering. \n\n\n\nNow run by Oxford City Council\, the St Giles’ fair is probably the largest of its kind in Europe taking up all of St Giles’ even Magdalen Street by Elliston and Cavell’s right up to and beyond the War Memorial\, at the meeting of the Woodstock and Banbury roads. \n\n\n\nThe street is closed to traffic on the two days in September for this traditional fair. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVideo montage\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrequently Asked Questions (FAQs)\n\n\n\nWhen is the St Giles’ Fair in 2026?In 2025\, the St Giles’ Fair will take place on Monday 07 and Tuesday 08 September\, from 11.00am to 11.00pm on both days. The fair normally takes place on the first Monday and Tuesday after the first Sunday after St Giles’ Day (01 September). \n\n\n\nHow much does the St Giles fair cost?Attending the fair is free\, but the rides and amusements have their own individual costs. There will also be a plethora of street food\, snacks and treats on sale. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGallery\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nClick to expand

Their medals will still be waiting for them at the finish line. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow do I get to the Oxford Half Marathon?+\n\n\n\n\nAs always\, if you can’t get there by foot\, we advice you to travel by public transport. Any runners relying on travelling by car\, however\, should use either the Redbridge Park & Ride or Thornhill Park & Ride sites because the city centre will have various road closures in place on the day (more on these later). \n\n\n\nIN previouse events\, parking and bus tickets were available in advance (up to four days before the date of travel) via the RingGo app. Tickets provide return travel to central Oxford and 12 hours of parking. Anyone who has purchased in advance will just need to show the driver their RingGo app confirmation. Up to two adult tickets per car can be purchased in this way; if you have more than two adults travelling\, additional return travel can be bought in person on the day. \n\n\n\nThere are no train services from London that arrive in Oxford in time for you to make the start line on time. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAre there any road closures?+\n\n\n\n\nYes\, there will be a lot of road closures in place during the event – with the majority closing from 8.00am on Sunday (Holywell Street\, however\, will shut at 6.00am). Others will be closed from Saturday. \n\n\n\nRoads will then begin reopening gradually from 11.00am (Magdalen Street East and St Giles) until the final roads (Broad Street\, Museum Road\, and Parks Road) reopen at 6.0pm. \n\n\n\nFull details of road closures – including details of closures the day before the race – can be found at \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhere are the best places for spectators?+\n\n\n\n\nBeing a city centre half marathon\, there is no bad place from which to cheer the runners as they go by. \n\n\n\nThere are plenty of places where the route will provide an amazing backdrop for photos of friends and family out on the course and other spots where you’ll be able to see people go by twice as they loop back down the same road. \n\n\n\nCheck out the map for a better idea of where to stand – it may depend on where you think the person you’re supporting could most do with seeing a friendly face in the crowd. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWill there be on-course entertainment?+\n\n\n\n\nPlenty. There will be numerous bands\, choirs\, DJs\, and performers dotted along the route\, offering runners some much-needed encouragement\, and adding to the fantastic atmosphere on race day. \n\n\n\nDetails of acts and their locations will be published closer to the event date. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRead more about the Oxford Half Marathon\n\n\n\n Retail and Leisure\nOxford Half outpaces competition as 2026 race sells out in weeks\n\n Community & Charity\nHelen & Douglas House named headline charity partner for Oxford Half 2026\n\n Things To Do\nThe unmissable annual events in Oxford taking place in 2026\n\n Arts & Culture\nOxford bus driver overcomes illness and injury to complete Oxford Half Marathon \n \n\n\n\n\nView All

SUMMARY:Everybody’s Talking About Jamie
DESCRIPTION:Everybody’s Talking About Jamie\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Everybody’s Talking About Jamie\n\n\n\nFollowing a record-breaking three-year West End residency\, two sold-out UK & Ireland Tours and Amazon Studios award-winning film\, the smash-hit and critically acclaimed musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie returns for the 10th Anniversary Tour. \n\n\n\nJamie New is sixteen and lives on a council estate in Sheffield. Jamie doesn’t quite fit in. Jamie is terrified about the future. Jamie is going to be a sensation. \n\n\n\nSupported by his brilliant loving mum and surrounded by his friends\, Jamie overcomes prejudice\, beats the bullies and steps out of the darkness into the spotlight. This ‘Funny\, outrageous\, touching’ (Daily Telegraph) musical sensation is to be experienced by all the family and not to be missed! \n\n\n\nWith an original score of catchy pop tunes that will ‘blow the roof off the Theatre’ (Mail on Sunday) by lead singer-songwriter of The Feeling\, Dan Gillespie Sells and writer Tom MacRae (Doctor Who)\, this ‘Sparkling coming-of-age musical’ (The Times) will have everybody talking about Jamie for years to come. \n\n\n\nSixteen: the edge of possibility.
