DESCRIPTION:https://youtu.be/78Baxj77eI4\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Treehouse Music and Arts Festival\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTreehouse is a boutique Music & Arts festival centred around the magnificent Treehouse in the heart of Curtis’ Copse in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside near Faringdon. Lose yourself amongst the trees and forget about the chaos for a magical weekend of revelry. \n\n\n\nTreehouse is curated by Treehouse AF\, a group of passionate festival aficionados who are on a mission to create the most intimate\, experiential music festival. Inspired by the likes of Burning Man\, Secret Garden Party and Wilderness\, Treehouse AF is building something special\, and they hope you’ll join them on this journey. \n\n\n\nThe Treehouse AF team’s been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that the festival is bigger and better than ever before. Grab a ticket and prepare for another truly unique weekend of dancing in the shadow of the Uffington White Horse. \n\n\n\nMusic \n\n\n\nThe music of Treehouse is as eclectic as the experiences. With no fixed genre\, they value spectacle\, entertainment and pure talent in their musicians and performers. Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to groove to Treehouse regulars and new faces alike. \n\n\n\nWorkshops \n\n\n\nWorkshops and experiences are the lifeblood of Treehouse. Whether it’s a life drawing class\, meditation\, yoga\, ecstatic dance or Wim Hof breathing\, a full schedule awaits you throughout the weekend. You’re encouraged to dive in\, leave your preconceptions at the door and surrender to the carefully curated experiences. \n\n\n\nConnection \n\n\n\nTreehouse will always hold intimacy at its heart. Over time\, the festival will mature alongside the guests\, keeping pace with expectations in an ever-changing world. \n\n\n\nTreehouse is a family\, and everyone is welcome. You can expect to bump into the same friendly faces over and over throughout the weekend\, and they’re confident you’ll leave with more than a handful of new friends. \n\n\n\nNew for 2022 \n\n\n\nThe festival is increasing capacity in 2022 to bring even more Treehousers into the family. SUMMARY:Mohammed Sami: ‘After the Storm’
DESCRIPTION:Mohammed Sami: ‘After the Storm’ Exhibition\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Mohammed Sami: ‘After the Storm’\n\n\n\nBlenheim Art Foundation is pleased to announce a major solo exhibition by Mohammed Sami coming to Blenheim Palace. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition\, ‘After the Storm’\, will take place from Tuesday\, 09 July\, to Sunday\, 20 October\, 2024\, marking a decade of Blenheim Art Foundation’s award-winning contemporary art programme. \n\n\n\nThrough exploring retroactive memories\, his paintings capture a world shaped not just by the weight of the past but also the present\, creating scenarios that are often left to the viewer to interpret through the lens of their own experiences. \n\n\n\nAs Sami has previously written\, “Painting becomes the only medium to grasp what is not there in painting anymore”. \n\n\n\nSami’s paintings feature landscapes\, interiors and more abstracted scenes whilst always being devoid of the human figure. They blur the line between reality and artifice\, conjuring the disquieting sensation of both presence and absence. \n\n\n\nBlenheim Palace\, a gift from Queen Anne to the First Duke of Marlborough in recognition of his triumph at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704 and later the birthplace of wartime prime minister Winston Churchill\, stands as an architectural testament to military glory. \n\n\n\nPlaced within the context of Blenheim Palace and its world-renowned collection of portraiture and narrative artworks\, Sami’s enigmatic paintings challenge viewers to reconsider the didactic nature of these traditional genres. \n\n\n\nMichael Frahm\, Director of Blenheim Art Foundation\, said: “We are thrilled to bring the exceptional work of Mohammed Sami to Blenheim Palace for his major solo exhibition. \n\n\n\n“Sami’s unique visual language\, which merges the personal and historical\, the fragmented and the surreal\, is set to engage audiences in a profound dialogue with the Palace’s storied past and its impressive art collection.  \n\n\n\n“This exhibition not only celebrates a decade of contemporary art within our walls but also reaffirms our commitment to showcasing groundbreaking artists whose work resonates with the times and places they inhabit.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see below for important booking information. \n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation:Inside the Palace. \n\n\n\nTickets required:Entry is valid with an Annual or Privilege Pass or a Palace\, Park and Gardens day ticket. \n\n\n\nDogs:No dogs allowed in the Palace. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Mohammed Sami\n\n\n\nMohammed Sami was born in Baghdad in 1984\, later immigrating to Sweden in 2007\, and now lives and works in London. In 2023\, Sami’s work was the subject of a solo exhibition at Camden Art Centre\, London\, his first solo institutional exhibition in the UK\, which toured to De La Warr Pavilion\, Bexhill-on-Sea. \n\n\n\nHe has participated in group exhibitions at the Carnegie Museum of Art\, Pittsburgh (2022); Aichi Triennale (2022); the Whitechapel Gallery\, London (2022); the Hayward Gallery\, London (2021); and Towner Eastbourne (2020) and his paintings are held in many notable places such as the Tate\, London; Museum of Modern Art\, New York; and Moderna Museet\, Stockholm.
