DESCRIPTION:Art Late Spring 2025\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Art Late Spring 2025\n\n\n\nThe North Wall\, Turrill Sculpture Garden\, and Sarah Wiseman Gallery are collaborating once again to bring you an evening of exhibition viewings and wine tastings. The experts at Grape Minds will present two different wines to taste in each gallery\, Art-K will run an interactive art-making session\, White Coco will be open for late-night shopping and there will be coffee and Indian food at The Meet Point. \n\n\n\nEach venue will conduct a guided tour – starting at Turrill Sculpture Garden at 5.45pm\, then the North Wall at 6.15pm\, then Sarah Wiseman Gallery at 6.45pm. Can’t make the tour times? Not to worry – guests are still welcome to make their own way around if they wish. \n\n\n\nThe Exhibitions \n\n\n\nThe North Wall will present a retrospective of the work of Marjorie Collins; paintings Marjorie has completed since moving to Oxford from Chicago in 1975 until 2025. Although Marjorie started out painting people and places\, she is better known for her colourful contemporary watercolours of still lifes and florals often painting objects larger than life. \n\n\n\nTurrill Sculpture Garden is celebrating their 25th Silver Anniversary. Their show this Art Weeks features silver metal sculpture in many forms by several very talented sculptors\, all set in a peaceful leafy setting. \n\n\n\nSarah Wiseman Gallery are pleased to present Glitch\, a solo show by printmaker Ade Adesina. Growing up in Nigeria and then moving to Aberdeen\, Ade’s works are imaginary compositions of the juxtaposing landscapes.  \n\n\n\nHeavy machinery sits among safari wildlife\, clouds are often found suspended from metal chains in a bleak sky\, and baobab trees dominate man-made cityscapes. This is a lovely place to meet up and take a break from shopping. \n\n\n\nThe market is wheelchair accessible both inside and outside. \n\n\n\nThe East Oxford Farmers’ & Community Market is a non-profit making organisation (a Society for the Benefit of the Community). It is run by a committee and a group of volunteers. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGetting there\n\n\n\nThe market takes place every Saturday from 10.00am to 1.00pm at East Oxford Primary School. Head down Cowley Road until you reach Tesco – the school borders on the car park directly behind it.

DESCRIPTION:Hands-on history!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Hands-on history!\n\n\n\nCome and have a go at handling some of the museum objects at a hands-on history drop-in session! \n\n\n\nVolunteers will help you to touch\, feel\, and handle objects ranging from Roman pottery to Second World War helmets. You’ll also get to learn about the stories behind the objects and what they can tell us about our city’s amazing past. \n\n\n\nFind the hands-on history station in Gallery One of the Museum of Oxford. \n\n\n\nPlease note this activity is subject to volunteer availability. \n\n\n\nAccess \n\n\n\nThere is step-free\, level entry access to the Town Hall via the entrance closest to Carfax Tower (to the left of the main steps as you face the Town Hall). Inside the Museum\, Museum Makers is accessible via a platform lift to the Galleries and then a lift to the basement. \n\n\n\nAccessible toilets are available in the Museum (close to Museum Makers) and in the Town Hall on the ground floor\, before entering the Museum. Please contact the Museum team if you’d like to talk to a member of staff about your access requirements.
