SUMMARY:Tim Rice - My Life in Musicals - I Know Him so Well
DESCRIPTION:Tim Rice – My Life in Musicals – I Know Him so Well\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Tim Rice – My Life in Musicals – I Know Him so Well\n\n\n\nDue to popular demand\, following his sell-out tour\, Sir Tim Rice\, the multi-award-winning\, internationally renowned lyricist\, will return to theatre stages with his extraordinary live musical theatre event – My Life In Musicals – I Know Him So Well. \n\n\n\nThe show will see Tim Rice reflect on his illustrious career at the heart of musical theatre\, sharing anecdotes behind the songs – the hits and the misses along with stories of his life and live performances from the wonderful catalogue of songs that are synonymous with his name and that of his collaborators. Musical accompaniment will be from an array of some of the UK’s leading West End singers and musicians led by Musical Director Duncan Waugh. \n\n\n\nTim is associated with writing the lyrics for so many of the world’s much-loved hit musicals – Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat\, Jesus Christ Superstar\, Evita\, Chess\, and the Disney productions The Lion King\, Aladdin\, and Beauty and the Beast. His work has not been limited to musical theatre alone with Evita transferring to the big screen and theme music for the James Bond movie Octopussy. \n\n\n\nWith the show packed full of songs including Don’t Cry For Me Argentina\, Any Dream Will Do\, A Whole New World\, Can You Feel The Love Tonight\, I Don’t Know How To Love Him\, Circle of Life\, Chess\, Hakuna Matata\, Another Suitcase in Another Hall\, I Know Him So Well\, All Time High\, Must Love Me\, One Night In Bangkok\, My Life In Musicals is an absolute must for fans of musical theatre and brilliant music. \n\n\n\nRegarded by many as one of the world’s greatest lyricists Tim Rice commented: “My Life in Musicals is a show in which I reveal all (well\, nearly all) of the secrets behind the creation of some of the best-known songs featuring my lyrics. I have had the good fortune to work with some of the greatest composers of our time\, including Andrew Lloyd Webber\, Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson\, Elton John\, and Alan Menken\, without whose wonderful melodies I’d be at home watching television. \n\n\n\nYou’ll probably know quite a few of the songs – and will therefore be relieved to hear I won’t be singing them. All musical aspects of the show I hand over to the outstanding Duncan Waugh Band and West End Singers. There will be plenty of stops in between the hits during which I’ll tell you how they happened and\, in some cases\, nearly didn’t. Actually\, I might sing a little – but not Don’t Cry For Me Argentina.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWatch the trailer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £32.00 \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee of £3.95 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nThursday 08 May 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\nThis show has an interval \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nMain auditorium \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Aylesbury Waterside Theatre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nAylesbury Waterside Theatre is a stunning modern venue at the heart of Buckinghamshire’s cultural scene. \n\n\n\nOpened in 2010\, its striking wooden interior takes inspiration from the rolling Chiltern Hills\, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. SUMMARY:Heka - Gandini Juggling
DESCRIPTION:Heka – Gandini Juggling\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Heka – Gandini Juggling\n\n\n\nDirected by Sean Gandini and Kati Ylä-Hokkala \n\n\n\nEverything is not as it seems. \n\n\n\nJuggling and Magic are like long lost sisters. So similar and yet so different. \n\n\n\nGandini Juggling returns to Oxford with their new show\, Heka which means the Egyptian goddess of magic. \n\n\n\nThis captivating performance blurs the lines between juggling and illusion\, transporting audiences to a mesmerizing realm where objects materialize\, vanish\, and transform. The show poses a tantalizing question: what is real\, and what is simply a trick of perception? \n\n\n\nHeka blends humour and philosophy with contemporary choreography and world-class juggling as it reimagines magic through repetition and misdirection. \n\n\n\nAbove it all it is a celebration of the silliness and absurdity of entertainment\, a homage to the delights of the absurd.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWatch the trailer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices:From £14.00 \n\n\n\nDates & times:Saturday 10 May 2025 at 2.30pm (Relaxed Performance) and 7.30pm. \n\n\n\nRunning time:60 minutes \n\n\n\nAge guidance: 8+ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Oxford Playhouse\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nOxford Playhouse and its Burton Taylor Studio present and produce several live performances and feature a rich array of British and international dramas\, family entertainment\, contemporary dance and music\, student and amateur shows\, comedy\, lectures and poetry. \n\n\n\nThe Playhouse not only produces and tours its own theatrical productions\, but it also fosters creativity through its Artists in Residence program and the Playhouse Plays Out series\, which brings unique events to various locations across the county. \n\n\n\nThe theatre’s Participation Team engages over 15\,000 individuals annually\, offering an extensive range of activities\, including post-show discussions\, workshops\, work experience opportunities\, holiday programs\, a youth theatre\, and a company for young performers. \n\n\n\nOxford Playhouse stands dedicated to its mission of being a Playhouse for all\, striving to ignite inspiration and bring about transformative experiences through its commitment to creativity on its stages\, within its community and online. \n\n\n\nDiscover more about Oxford Playhouse\, including travel\, access and venue information.

SUMMARY:Francis Rossi
DESCRIPTION:Francis Rossi\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Francis Rossi\n\n\n\n‘An Evening of Francis Rossi’s Songs from the Status Quo Songbook and more…’ Brand New Show for 2025 \n\n\n\nThe show will feature songs that Francis has not ever played before in this format and offer firsthand backstage tales about appearing over 100 times on Top Of The Pops\, why they went on first at Live Aid\, life with Rick Parfitt\, the hits\, fellow stars\, and misadventures across the world\, all cut through with Francis’ wit and humour. \n\n\n\nThe story starts with ‘Pictures of Matchstick Men’ but continues right up to the present day. The show will lift the curtain on what life is really like in one of Britain’s biggest and best bands\, and also provide some context for all the crazy stuff that has happened along the way. \n\n\n\nFrancis himself says: “This show lays out the story of Quo – some of the things that have happened I can barely believe myself – and it tells my own story too.” \n\n\n\nFrancis will mostly be playing his Acoustasonic guitar which\, as he says\, “is basically a Telecaster but is more compatible with a show of this nature – it still has the ring and sound of a Tele”. \n\n\n\nFeaturing many of his signature hits that made the Quo name\, plus some personal favourites and deeper cuts\, this is an opportunity to see one of Rock’s greatest performers! \n\n\n\n“This is a brand new show\, I have been experimenting with the catalogue and I know what works best. It’s been fascinating and I have been amazed how well some songs work in a lower key\, or with a different arrangement. In 2025 there will be plenty of songs included that I haven’t done before: Army\, Dirty Water\, Don’t Waste My Time\, Roll Over Lay Down; and even Down Down – which I was very surprised to find worked this way\, but it’s fantastic. \n\n\n\nThese shows are a real treat for me\, they suit my voice really well\, and I don’t have to yell. Plus I know people enjoy the likes of Caroline\, Paper Plane\, Break The Rules\, What You’re Proposin’\, and Rockin’ All Over The World so I’ll be putting those in again too!” \n\n\n\nWith ‘An Evening of Francis Rossi’s Songs from the Status Quo Songbook and more…’ Francis Rossi promises a refreshing take on some of his most loved and enduring material\, and indiscreet fresh tales from across the incredible career of one of Rock’s great performers and raconteurs. \n\n\n\nVIP tickets are available. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £46.26 \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee of £3.95 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nSaturday 10 May 2025 at 7.00pm \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nMain auditorium \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Aylesbury Waterside Theatre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nAylesbury Waterside Theatre is a stunning modern venue at the heart of Buckinghamshire’s cultural scene. \n\n\n\nOpened in 2010\, its striking wooden interior takes inspiration from the rolling Chiltern Hills\, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
