DESCRIPTION:Blazin’ Fiddles\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Blazin’ Fiddles\n\n\n\nOne of the world’s most prolific fiddle groups\, Blazin’ Fiddles formed for a one-off tour of the Scottish Highlands in 1999 and is still raising roofs far and wide well over two decades later. \n\n\n\nEncompassing a rare and virtuosic selection of the fiddle’s diverse Highland and island voices\, with ensemble and solo-led sets both backed by powerhouse guitar and piano\, the Blazers pack all the power\, passion\, and sensitivity of Scotland’s traditional music\, into a single show. \n\n\n\nThe four-fiddle frontline of Inverness’ Bruce MacGregor\, Shetlander Jenna Reid\, Nairn’s Rua Macmillan\, and Orkney’s Kristan Harvey ignites atop second-to-none accompaniment from Anna Massie and Angus Lyon. SUMMARY:Tess
DESCRIPTION:Tess by Turtle Key Arts\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Tess\n\n\n\nFollowing the hugely successful sold-out tour in 2024\, Ockham’s Razor\, return to Oxford with Tess\, a groundbreaking\, circus adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s classic novel Tess of the D’Urbervilles. \n\n\n\nAn ensemble of performers weave together Hardy’s words and the extreme physicality of circus to tell this tale of power\, loss and endurance. \n\n\n\nAgainst a backdrop of projections\, the cast wield wooden planks\, climb shifting walls and move through ropes and swathes of linen to evoke the vast landscapes and interior worlds of Hardy’s Wessex. \n\n\n\nIt is a story which still has extraordinary relevance for our times in its incredibly nuanced evocation of female relationships\, sexual desire\, consent\, privilege and poverty. \n\n\n\nThis retelling captures the beauty\, heartbreak and yearning of the novel and draws upon the incredible strength of the circus body to create a Tess as heroic as Hardy intended. \n\n\n\nOckham’s Razor produced by Turtle Key Arts. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTrailer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n★★★★ “Full of joy\, wonder and delight.” \n\n\n\nThe Guardian \n\n\n\n\n\n★★★★ “Captivating and exhilarating\, this production is hypnotic and teeming with physical creativity. SUMMARY:The Count of Monte Cristo
DESCRIPTION:The Count of Monte Cristo\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Count of Monte Cristo\n\n\n\nAlexandre Dumas’ celebrated novel is a favourite of readers all over the world\, but it rarely makes an appearance on our stages or screens. And certainly never like this… So join 3 intrepid actors in this fast-paced and furiously funny retelling of the greatest revenge tale ever told. \n\n\n\nThe year is 1815. France is divided\, Napoleon plots his return to power\, and humble sailor Edmond Dantes is living a simple honest life. Or so he thinks. Betrayed by those who know him\, and accused of treason\, Edmund is imprisoned in the depths of the prison island The Chateau D’If. Forsaken and forgotten\, he begins to weave an intricate web of vengeance. \n\n\n\nExpect revenge\, redemption\, and a whole load of ridiculousness as all 1200 pages of French epic are stuffed onto the stage in this brand-new comedy adaptation. Bringing to life the original jailbreak story… probably… I mean it’s fairly old. \n\n\n\nThe Count of Monte Cristo is an epic tale of vengeance\, redemption\, and how far one man will go for justice. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n£15.00 – £18.00 \n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTickets prices:Standard tickets – £18.00Concessions – £15.00 \n\n\n\nAll prices include any booking fees \n\n\n\nDates & times:Thursday 06 March 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time:2 hours 30 minutes \n\n\n\nAge guidance:8+ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Theatre Chipping Norton\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Theatre Chipping Norton\, sometimes called The Theatre\, Chipping Norton or Chipping Norton Theatre\, is a theatre\, an arthouse cinema\, a gallery and a concert hall in Chipping Norton. \n\n\n\nThe theatre has has 217 seats\, including stalls and a balcony. It is a resource for the community\, and it is also a professional venue\, welcoming over 55\,000 customer visits every year. \n\n\n\nIt is something unique\, but it is also different things to different people. It is the cause and subject of many arguments and debates; and a fair amount of acclaim and affection. It is complicated and a little eccentric. \n\n\n\nIt is not a little theatre.
