SUMMARY:Fault Lines – Lila Dance
DESCRIPTION:Fault Lines – Lila Dance\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Fault Lines – Lila Dance\n\n\n\nAs our planet’s voice gets louder\, are we ready to listen? \n\n\n\nFault Lines pulls at the tension in our relationship with nature. Our constant pursuit of progress\, increasing the speed of life\, has left us out of sync with the natural world. \n\n\n\nA scorched earth\, from the rubble and the ruin\, the survivors emerge. A new world\, a second chance. Within changing landscapes created from striking digital illustrations and evocative music\, our survivors navigate the world\, racing towards an unknown future. \n\n\n\nFault Lines explores the environmental damage we’ve inflicted\, but asks what happens when we stand together with hope? What will that take? \n\n\n\nNew writing by Nick Walker (award-winning writer\, BBC) gives voice to both the existential panic\, alongside the everyday problem-solving needed to live on a hotter\, more crowded\, and less predictable planet. \n\n\n\nWith an original sound score by Dougie Evans\, the projection of digital imagery by Zach Walker (MakeAmplify)\, and digital moving illustrations by Courtney McCarthy\, the natural world enters the space to create a rich sensory world for the performers. \n\n\n\nFault Lines is performed by the professional dance company Lila Dance who will be joined for some pieces by dancers from Henley College. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“Fault Lines refuses to lose hope\, and offers an alternative view of the future in this sincere and well-crafted piece.” \n\n\n\nThe Guardian \n\n\n\n\n\n“One of the most evocative pieces of dance theatre I have seen for quite a while.” \n\n\n\nseeingdance.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nAdult\, Senior Citizen\, and Friends – £25.00 \n\n\n\nStudent and Child – £13.50 \n\n\n\nTicket prices include a £1.00 Restoration Levy\, a £1.50 Booking Fee\, and a 25p Community Fund Levy \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nSunday 22 June 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time:  \n\n\n\n1 hour 5 minutes \n\n\n\nAge guidance: \n\n\n\n12+ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Kenton Theatre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nSituated in the centre of Henley-on-Thames\, the Kenton Theatre is the fourth-oldest working theatre in the UK and a registered charity. SUMMARY:The Myth of Medea: Medea and Medos
DESCRIPTION:The Myth of Medea: Medea and Medos\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Myth of Medea: Medea and Medos\n\n\n\nThe classic story of betrayal and revenge retold and continued in a startling new tragedy by Oxford playwright Nick Thomas.  \n\n\n\nAn Asian sorceress exiled in the Greek city of Corinth\, when Medea is callously betrayed by her husband\, Jason\, she uses her powers of magic and prophecy to exact the worst revenge imaginable. First dramatised by Euripides in 431 BC\, this ancient myth pursues the themes of love and loss\, superstition and piety\, and loyalty and hatred to a terrifying conclusion. But Medea’s story isn’t finished yet…  \n\n\n\nNick Thomas first presented his one-hour reworking of Medea at the OFS in 2004\, when the Oxford Times called it “a first class modern tragedy.” This June Nick returns to direct a revival of his Medea\, now paired with its sequel\, Medos. This new play continues the story of Medea into her second exile in Athens and involves her in a different strand of tragic Greek myth that has never been dramatised before.   \n\n\n\nThe ancient Greek myths are some of the most colourful and gripping stories ever told\, driven by timeless human motivations and full of magic\, suspense\, and drama. This new production is a must for students of Greek literature and modern theatre alike\, as Nick Thomas uses English dramatic verse to take the cast and audience on a thrilling ride into the depths of our cultural past.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nStandard – £15.00 \n\n\n\nPay more – £20.00 \n\n\n\nPay less – £10.00 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nWednesday 25 to Saturday 28 June 2025 \n\n\n\nWednesday to Friday at 7.30pm\, Saturday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm   \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n1 hour 50 minutes \n\n\n\nAge guidance: \n\n\n\n14+  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Old Fire Station\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Old Fire Station in Oxford is an arts centre with a unique social mission\, combining creativity with community impact.
