Formed in 2017 with support from Arts Council England (ACE)\, the company have had the experience of working with professional choreographers and dance companies including Uchenna Dance\, Yorke Dance and Chhaya Collective to develop their practice and create one-off curtain-raiser performances. \n\n\n\nSince 2023\, led by the company’s Artistic Director Luca Braccia\, the company have created their first full-scale piece Let’s Play Forever and showcased their work at festivals including Host in Ipswich and Dancin’ Oxford’s Summer Festival. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFree \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nSunday 11 May 2025 at 2.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n1 hour \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Mill Arts Centre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Mill Arts Centre is the cultural hub for Banbury and the surrounding area. \n\n\n\nAs the only dedicated arts provision in the area\, it aims to inspire creativity and enrich the lives of the communities by providing a high-quality\, varied artistic\, educational and participatory programme. \n\n\n\nIt plays a significant role in the town’s cultural\, social and economic development by offering the community the chance to engage with and be entertained by several art forms. \n\n\n\nThe Mill Arts Centre offers an exciting live events programme\, including theatre\, dance\, music\, comedy\, film\, workshops and classes. SUMMARY:The Rheingans Sisters
DESCRIPTION:The Rheingans Sisters\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Rheingans Sisters\n\n\n\nThe Rheingans Sisters’ new album Start Close In was released in September 2024 to enthusiastic acclaim; The Guardian declaring it Folk Album of the Month – “a radical leap into darkness” – and MOJO Magazine hailing it one of the Top 10 Folk Albums of 2024.  \n\n\n\nProduced by New York-based Adam Pietrykowski (whose genre-diverse work spans rock\, contemporary classical\, and prog folk)\, the visionary duo’s new album is “wildly expressive; at the forefront of the recent upsurge in experimental\, drone-led folk” (KLOF)   \n\n\n\nThe sisters’ new live show is an immersive and uplifting musical journey. Taking in baroque fiddle tunes and trance beats\, metal-inspired arrangements of traditional ballads and improvisations with phone voicenotes\, Rowan and Anna once again make music like painters; revealing in bold colours the next soaring chapter in their unmistakable brand of avant-garde trad\, blending ancient song and universal stories with future imaginings\, dystopias and dreams.  \n\n\n\nPrevious winners of BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for ‘Best Original Track’ and nominees for ‘Best Band’\, with their uniquely blended sound of fiddles\, voices\, feet\, banjos\, electric guitar\, synths and the powerful bass drones of the medieval tambourin à cordes\, The Rheingans Sisters remain one of the most visionary acts on the British folk scene today. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWatch the trailer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“A radical leap into darkness.” ★★★★ \n\n\n\nGuardian \n\n\n\n\n\n“Gorgeous\, vivid songwriting.” ★★★★★ \n\n\n\nMark Radcliffe\, BBC Radio \n\n\n\n\n\n“Joyous – take a bow.” ★★★★ \n\n\n\nMOJO \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\n£18.00 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nTuesday 13 May 2025 at 8.00pm

SUMMARY:Bill Prosser & Sarah Blair: Inside Out
DESCRIPTION:Bill Prosser & Sarah Blair: Inside Out\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Bill Prosser & Sarah Blair: Inside Out\n\n\n\nAn exhibition of drawings\, book pieces\, prints\, and poster poems\, relating in different ways to the notions of outside and in. \n\n\n\nOutside \n\n\n\nSarah Blair specialises in text-image works. Her series of poster poems on the theme of weather invites conversation around our changing climate and any accompanying shifts in our consciousness. \n\n\n\nThis project responds to archival ‘weather diaries’ of the 18th and 19th centuries\, when weather-watching was also becoming something of a fashionable national pastime. Amateur enthusiasts were reaching for barometers and thermometers on verandas and in bedrooms\, confecting a new type of language to pin down observations and hunches. \n\n\n\nThe work featured in this show focuses on the year 1824-25\, precisely 200 years ago. \n\n\n\nInside \n\n\n\nAfter fifty years of trying\, Bill Prosser is still making matter-of-fact drawings about things that don’t matter. \n\n\n\nTalk and tea with the artist Sarah  Blair \n\n\n\n17 May 2.00pm – 3.00pm \n\n\n\nJoin Sarah for a slice of cake and a tour of the exhibition. \n\n\n\nFree Entry / Booking Required \n\n\n\nIn Conversation: Bill Prosser & Sarah  Blair \n\n\n\nThursday 29 May 6.00pm – 7.30pm \n\n\n\nJoin us for drinks at 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start. \n\n\n\nFree Entry / Booking Required \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFree entry \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nWednesday 14 to Saturday 31 May 2025 \n\n\n\nOpening hours: Monday to Saturday at 10.00am – 4.00pm \n\n\n\nClosed: Sunday and Bank Holidays \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The North Wall Arts Centre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe North Wall Arts Centre is an an award-winning theatre\, gallery and performing arts centre located in Summertown\, North Oxford. SUMMARY:Lunchtime Talk: 'Lost in the Woods: The Story of Slade Camp'
DESCRIPTION:Lost in the Woods: The Story of Slade Camp\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Lunchtime Talk: ‘Lost in the Woods: The Story of Slade Camp’\n\n\n\n‘Lost in the Woods: The story of Slade Camp and a rediscovered Oxford community’ \n\n\n\nThe Slade Camp was set out in open fields on the edge of Shotover in the late 1930s as part of the military preparations for war. The camp saw action during WWII: as a training centre\, for housing returning troops from Dunkirk and assisting in demobbing soldiers. \n\n\n\nBut it was after 1945 that the wooden huts and network of tarmacked roads served their most useful function when the camp was used to help deal with the post-war housing crisis. Army buildings became family homes as hundreds of people arrived to set up a new community. \n\n\n\nThe neighbourhood grew and thrived with Shotover Woods becoming a playground for the children who lived there. The last residents left the camp in the early 1970s\, but the history of the place and the people who lived there mirrors the development of modern-day Oxford and tells us much about social and cultural changes in the city. \n\n\n\nJoin Maurice East to hear how ordinary people built a community in the aftermath of war and how the fascinating story was rediscovered during lockdown fifty years later. \n\n\n\nComplimentary tea and coffee will be available to enjoy during the talk. We recommend arriving before the start of the talk if you would like to grab a refreshment. \n\n\n\nSales from tickets help support our work to deliver fun and accessible family activities\, community engagement projects\, school workshops\, exhibitions\, and special events for Oxford’s people in our Museum spaces. \n\n\n\nMaurice East is a local historian who was born and raised in Oxford. He interprets the social history of the city through the lens of growing up as a ‘townie’ and shines a spotlight on stories far off the usual tourist trail. His main area of research is the history of car making at Cowley and how the arrival of industry\, cars\, and blue-collar workers changed Oxford forever in the early twentieth century. \n\n\n\nAccess: \n\n\n\nThere is step-free\, level entry access to the Town Hall via the entrance closest to Carfax Tower (to the left of the main steps as you face the Town Hall). Inside the Museum\, Museum Makers is accessible via a platform lift to the Galleries and then a lift to the basement. \n\n\n\nAccessible toilets are available in the Museum (close to Museum Makers) and in the Town Hall on the ground floor\, before entering the Museum. Please contact the Museum team if you’d like to talk to a member of staff about your access requirements. Further access information can be found on our page dedicated to access at the museum. \n\n\n\nPhoto consent: \n\n\n\nPlease be aware that photographs will be taken at this event for use in marketing. If you (or a member of your group) would prefer not to be photographed\, please let a member of staff know during the event. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £5.00 \n\n\n\nTickets can be purchased online via Eventbrite (booking fee of £1.13 applies) or at the Museum Shop. \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nWednesday 14 May 2025 at 1.00pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n1 hour \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Museum of Oxford\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Museum of Oxford is the only museum dedicated to telling the story of Oxford and its people. Located inside the Oxford Town Hall\, it explores the city’s rich history beyond the university\, focusing on the lives\, industries\, and communities that have shaped Oxford over time. \n\n\n\nThe museum features interactive exhibits\, local artefacts\, and personal stories\, covering topics such as Oxford’s medieval origins\, its diverse communities\, and key moments in its development. It also hosts temporary exhibitions\, events\, and activities for all ages. \n\n\n\nDiscover more about the Museum of Oxford.

SUMMARY:SJE Arts International Piano Series: Elisabeth Brauß
DESCRIPTION:SJE Arts International Piano Series: Elisabeth Brauß\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout SJE Arts International Piano Series: Elisabeth Brauß\n\n\n\nBach Capriccio in B-flat major BWV 992 \n\n\n\nBeethoven Piano Sonata no. 26\, op. 81a ‘Les Adieux’ \n\n\n\nInterval \n\n\n\nR. Schumann Geistervariationen ‘Ghost Variations’ \n\n\n\nProkofiev Piano Sonata no. 7\, op. 83 ‘Stalingrad’ \n\n\n\nBorn in Hannover in 1995\, Elisabeth Brauß is one of the most exciting musicians of her generation. She performs across Europe and\, as a former BBC New Generation Artist\, is a frequent visitor to the UK. \n\n\n\nHer current season includes a return to Wigmore Hall for a solo recital and concerto engagements with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. It also sees her touring North America with concerts in Montreal and across the USA\, ending at the Phillips Collection Museum\, Washington DC. \n\n\n\nElisabeth’s performance of Robert Schumann’s Carnaval in the 2024 Piano Series was so popular that she was instantly invited back. This time she plays his ‘Ghost Variations’\, a work composed in the period immediately before his admission to the asylum for the insane. Schumann was suffering hallucinations\, voices were playing music to him and allowing him\, in his own words\, ‘magnificent revelations’. \n\n\n\nWorks with titles are intriguing\, and Elisabeth gives us two more. ‘Les Adieux’ was Beethoven’s farewell to his patron Archduke Rudolph\, when he was forced to leave Vienna as Napoleon’s army took the city. ‘Stalingrad\,’ one of Prokofiev’s three War Sonatas\, is hard to pin down. It contains some of Prokofiev’s most dissonant and brutal writing but also some of his warmest. The contrast is a perpetually interesting one. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWatch Elisabeth perform Mozart’s Piano Sonata in A minor\, Wigmore Hall\, January 2022\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“Following a spell as a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist\, German pianist Elisabeth Brauß is making a name for herself in the UK. Stylistically assured\, her playing bristles with vitality. I recall a terrific Prokofiev Second Piano Sonata at Wigmore Hall…..” \n\n\n\nBachtrack – Rising Stars: ten to watch in 2024-25 \n\n\n\n\n\n“The maturity and sophistication of her thoughtful interpretations would be the pride of any pianist twice her age.”  \n\n\n\nGramophone \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nUnder 30s – £15.00-£30.00 \n\n\n\nStudents and carers – £5.00-£20.00 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nWednesday 14 May 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n2 hours \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout SJE Arts Oxford\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSJE Arts Oxford is a concert venue and arts organisation based at St John the Evangelist Church on Iffley Road\, Oxford. \n\n\n\nThe church itself was built in the 19th century as part of a monastery established by the Cowley Fathers\, an Anglican religious community. SUMMARY:Tim Rice - My Life in Musicals - I Know Him so Well
DESCRIPTION:Tim Rice – My Life in Musicals – I Know Him so Well\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Tim Rice – My Life in Musicals – I Know Him so Well\n\n\n\nDue to popular demand\, following his sell-out tour\, Sir Tim Rice\, the multi-award-winning\, internationally renowned lyricist\, will return to theatre stages with his extraordinary live musical theatre event – My Life In Musicals – I Know Him So Well. \n\n\n\nThe show will see Tim Rice reflect on his illustrious career at the heart of musical theatre\, sharing anecdotes behind the songs – the hits and the misses along with stories of his life and live performances from the wonderful catalogue of songs that are synonymous with his name and that of his collaborators. Musical accompaniment will be from an array of some of the UK’s leading West End singers and musicians led by Musical Director Duncan Waugh. \n\n\n\nTim is associated with writing the lyrics for so many of the world’s much-loved hit musicals – Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat\, Jesus Christ Superstar\, Evita\, Chess\, and the Disney productions The Lion King\, Aladdin\, and Beauty and the Beast. His work has not been limited to musical theatre alone with Evita transferring to the big screen and theme music for the James Bond movie Octopussy. \n\n\n\nWith the show packed full of songs including Don’t Cry For Me Argentina\, Any Dream Will Do\, A Whole New World\, Can You Feel The Love Tonight\, I Don’t Know How To Love Him\, Circle of Life\, Chess\, Hakuna Matata\, Another Suitcase in Another Hall\, I Know Him So Well\, All Time High\, Must Love Me\, One Night In Bangkok\, My Life In Musicals is an absolute must for fans of musical theatre and brilliant music. \n\n\n\nRegarded by many as one of the world’s greatest lyricists Tim Rice commented “My Life in Musicals is a show in which I reveal all (well\, nearly all) of the secrets behind the creation of some of the best-known songs featuring my lyrics. I have had the good fortune to work with some of the greatest composers of our time\, including Andrew Lloyd Webber\, Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson\, Elton John\, and Alan Menken\, without whose wonderful melodies I’d be at home watching television. \n\n\n\nYou’ll probably know quite a few of the songs – and will therefore be relieved to hear I won’t be singing them. All musical aspects of the show I hand over to the outstanding Duncan Waugh Band and West End Singers. There will be plenty of stops in between the hits during which I’ll tell you how they happened and\, in some cases\, nearly didn’t. Actually\, I might sing a little – but not Don’t Cry For Me Argentina.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking Information\n\n\n\nTicket Prices:From £29.50 \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee of £3.95. \n\n\n\nDate & time:Thursday 15 May 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout New Theatre Oxford\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nThere has been a theatre on George Street for almost 170 years. (the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts). \n\n\n\nA consummate entertainer\, Friedman will be performing solo\, on guitar and keyboard\, featuring songs from throughout his four-decade career\, including familiar radio hits and fan favourites\, drawn from his eight studio albums. Invite family and friends and join Friedman for an evening of powerful\, poignant\, and hilarious songs about the ordinary and extraordinary lives we share. \n\n\n\nWith special guest Boothby Graffoe \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews for Dean Friedman\n\n\n\n\n“Soundtrack of our lives!” \n\n\n\nNY Times \n\n\n\n“Songsmith extraordinaire!” \n\n\n\nMusicWeek \n\n\n\n“Dean Friedman is entirely unique and utterly brilliant.” \n\n\n\nThreeWeeks \n\n\n\n“Stunning Musicianship!” \n\n\n\nHot Press \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews for Boothby Graffoe\n\n\n\n\n“Boothby Graffoe is a multi-talented\, darkly hilarious\, grade A British eccentric\, who can twist your funny bone one minute\, and break your heart the next. A musical comedy act who is more musical than most musicians\, and funnier than most comedians.”  \n\n\n\nStewart Lee \n\n\n\n“If I had to compare him to anyone\, it would be Spike Milligan.”  \n\n\n\nOmid Djalili \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\n£29.50 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nThursday 15 May 2025 at 7.30pm
