Her recent engagements include Assistant Conductor for La Bohème (Longborough Festival Opera)\, Deputy Conductor for Messiah (The Merry Opera Company)\, Assistant Chorusmaster for Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 (Royal Academy of Music)\, and Assistant Musical Director for Hansel and Gretel (British Youth Opera). She was a Grand Finalist in the London International Choral Conducting Competition 2024. \n\n\n\nOlivia graduated with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music\, receiving the DipRam award for outstanding performance and the Sir Thomas Armstrong Choral Leadership Prize. Subsequently\, she was appointed as a Fellow at the Academy\, where she founded The CONVENTional Project\, a professional early music ensemble specialising in Italian convent music. \n\n\n\nOlivia sings professionally with Tenebrae\, London Voices\, and at the Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula. \n\n\n\nJulie Cooper \n\n\n\nJulie has been a regular member of The Sixteen for nearly 30 years. It has provided her with a husband (Ben Davies\, Baritone)\, career highlights\, and the very best musical family. \n\n\n\nJulie started her musical journey aged four\, singing along to her Dad’s opera recordings. Much to his disappointment\, she has never sung the role of Brunnhilde\, but never say never. \n\n\n\nSince completing her postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music\, Julie has performed as a consort singer and soloist around the world\, singing with most of the UK’s choral ensembles. Equally at home singing Brahms’ Requiem or Arvo Part’s Stabat Mater\, it is always her love of choral music and live performance that remains. \n\n\n\nHighlights with The Sixteen include singing James Macmillan’s Stabat Mater in the Sistine Chapel and performing as the soprano soloist in the world premiere of his Le Grand Inconnu. \n\n\n\nAs well as performing\, Julie is a vocal coach and Nutritional Therapist\, with a particular interest in vocal health and wellbeing. The city is well known around the world. This tour identifies some of the features that have made the city so special. From the Saxon period when the city was already an important settlement\, through the development of the university\, the important role played by the city in the English Civil Wars\, to more recent features such as the growth of the car industry under the leadership of William Morris\, the Covered Market and the important literary figures linked to the city\, the tour will give you an insight which should stimulate interest in finding out more. This is always optional and you can choose to just sit and listen if you’d prefer. \n\n\n\nWe will then explore a simple\, mindful creative activity together\, where the focus is the doing\, rather than putting pressure on an outcome. \n\n\n\nMonthly on Tuesdays 7.00pm – 9.00pm \n\n\n\nFor your safety \n\n\n\nThis session includes an optional mindfulness meditation to help you relax. You can always choose to just listen rather than take part. \n\n\n\nIt will last around 10-15 minutes.
