SUMMARY:Suddenly Last Summer
DESCRIPTION:Suddenly Last Summer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Suddenly Last Summer\n\n\n\nBy Tennessee Williams \n\n\n\n‘Suddenly last summer… beneath the white-hot blazing sun of Cabeza de Lobo… I saw Cousin Sebastian die…’ \n\n\n\nA summer afternoon. The aging Mrs Venable brings her niece\, Cathy\, to the monstrous garden of her recently deceased son – a mysterious figure rumoured to have died in grotesque circumstances. The only witness to his death\, the source of these rumours\, and seemingly mad\, Cathy has been brought here to be silenced once and for all… \n\n\n\nSuddenly Last Summer is Tennessee Williams’ most shocking play\, a Southern Gothic drama about saintliness\, insanity\, and cannibalism\, but also a tender exploration into the loneliness common to all humanity and the way it can distort our love. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\n£6.00 – £8.00 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nTuesday 20 to Saturday 24 May 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n1 hour 20 minutes \n\n\n\nAge guidance: \n\n\n\n16+ \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nBT Studio \n\n\n\nWarning: \n\n\n\nIncludes some sexual references\, violence\, and mild swearing \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Oxford Playhouse\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nOxford Playhouse and its Burton Taylor Studio present and produce several live performances and feature a rich array of British and international dramas\, family entertainment\, contemporary dance and music\, student and amateur shows\, comedy\, lectures and poetry. \n\n\n\nThe Playhouse not only produces and tours its own theatrical productions\, but it also fosters creativity through its Artists in Residence program and the Playhouse Plays Out series\, which brings unique events to various locations across the county. \n\n\n\nThe theatre’s Participation Team engages over 15\,000 individuals annually\, offering an extensive range of activities\, including post-show discussions\, workshops\, work experience opportunities\, holiday programs\, a youth theatre\, and a company for young performers. \n\n\n\nOxford Playhouse stands dedicated to its mission of being a Playhouse for all\, striving to ignite inspiration and bring about transformative experiences through its commitment to creativity on its stages\, within its community and online. \n\n\n\nDiscover more about Oxford Playhouse\, including travel\, access and venue information.

SUMMARY:Daphne’s Flight 2025
DESCRIPTION:Daphne’s Flight 2025\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Daphne’s Flight 2025\n\n\n\nChris While\, Julie Matthews\, Helen Watson\, Melanie Harrold\, Miranda Syke \n\n\n\nFeaturing five of the finest singer-songwriters of their generation\, the music of Daphne’s Flight is a unique and magical blend of their individual styles\, but together they create a unique and unparalleled force\, empowering audiences of all ages\, producing music that is relatable\, moving and uplifting and creating a chemistry on stage that is both joyful and contagious. \n\n\n\nDaphne’s Flight is on tour in May 2025. \n\n\n\nImagine\, if you can\, the instrumental sparkle and songwriting creds of The Traveling Wilburys combined with the striking vocal prowess of Sweet Honey In The Rock. Then add the warmth and down-to-earth humour of The Derry Girls and you’ll be somewhere in Daphne’s territory. They create a unique sound and energy that unites singer-songwriters\, folk\, blues\, and more. \n\n\n\nCrossing a huge range of topics and genres\, blending folk\, blues\, jazz\, and pop all woven together with striking harmonies and supported by a range of instrumentation and percussion. \n\n\n\nThe music of Daphne’s Flight is a magical layering of sensitivity\, beauty\, experience\, and empowerment. Their songs are thought-provoking\, uplifting\, empowering and relatable. They continue to inspire audiences with the warmth\, energy\, and sheer joy they bring to their performances. \n\n\n\nThey are\, quite simply\, a force to be reckoned with. \n\n\n\nWhen Daphne’s Flight completed their tour in 2018 and after a handful of euphoric festival performances in 2019 which garnered them an army of new followers\, the stage was set for a 25th anniversary tour in 2020 with a brand new album to launch and celebrate. \n\n\n\nThen the world turned upside down. What followed were two frustrating years of postponed dates and a career sitting idle\, unable to capitalise on the momentum that had been building since their 2017 reunion tour. \n\n\n\nNow the heavy cloud of the pandemic has lifted and the stage is set for a euphoric return to touring for Daphne’s Flight. With a heavy heart\, Christine Collister pulled out of the band for personal reasons at the beginning of 2022 so Chris\, Helen\, Julie\, and Mel asked Miranda Sykes (Show of Hands) to join the band. \n\n\n\nThe result in rehearsals couldn’t be better\, the blend of personalities and musical synergy has given new energy and hope to Daphne and so a new chapter begins. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“Daphne’s Flight\, you were magnificent\, thank you.”  \n\n\n\nStephen Sorrell \n\n\n\n\n\n“You made our Cambridge.”  \n\n\n\nAnnie \n\n\n\n\n\n“You won’t hear many better singers than these all on the same stage.” \n\n\n\nKit Bailey \n\n\n\n\n\n“Setting Cambridge alight with Pride. SUMMARY:Royal Ballet and Opera: Ballet to Broadway - Wheeldon Works
DESCRIPTION:Royal Ballet and Opera: Ballet to Broadway – Wheeldon Works\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Royal Ballet and Opera: Ballet to Broadway – Wheeldon Works\n\n\n\nFool’s Paradise \n\n\n\nLuminescent and shimmering\, Fool’s Paradise marked the first of Wheeldon’s many collaborations with composer Joby Talbot. It was created in 2007 for Wheeldon’s own company\, Morphoses\, and first performed in 2012 by The Royal Ballet. \n\n\n\nThe Two Of Us \n\n\n\nThe wistful songs of Joni Mitchell set the scene for the UK premiere of The Two of Us\, a duet of deep intimacy and yearning. It was created in 2020 for the Fall for Dance Festival in New York\, and had American ballet dancers Sarah Mearns and David Hallberg in its original cast. \n\n\n\nUs (Duet) \n\n\n\nUs is a tender duet danced by two men. It was created in 2017 for BalletBoyz and is set to Keaten Henson’s music. \n\n\n\nAn American In Paris (Ballet) \n\n\n\nThe Royal Ballet celebrates Wheeldon’s extraordinary success in musical theatre by performing the ballet scene from his Tony Award-winning musical An American in Paris. Set to Gershwin’s jazzy melodies\, the musical is inspired by the 1951 film of the same name starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron. The musical went on to win four Tony awards. \n\n\n\nThe full musical depicts a blossoming romance between the American G.I. Jerry Mulligan and a French ballerina\, Lise Dassin. The ballet excerpt was Wheeldon’s take on one of the most memorable scenes from the film – an extended sequence in which the two central characters dance through Paris. \n\n\n\nCast: \n\n\n\nTo be confirmed \n\n\n\nCreatives: \n\n\n\nChoreography Christopher Wheeldon \n\n\n\nConductor Koen Kessels \n\n\n\nOrchestra Orchestra of the Royal Opera House \n\n\n\nMusic: \n\n\n\nJoby Talbot \n\n\n\nJoni Mitchell \n\n\n\nKeaton Henson \n\n\n\nGeorge Gershwhin \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWatch the trailer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nGeneral – £18.50 \n\n\n\nUnder 16s – £13.50 \n\n\n\nAll prices include any booking fees \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nThursday 22 May 2025 at 7.15pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n3 hours \n\n\n\nFilm rating: \n\n\n\n12A \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nThe Theatre \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Theatre Chipping Norton\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Theatre Chipping Norton\, sometimes called The Theatre\, Chipping Norton or Chipping Norton Theatre\, is a theatre\, an arthouse cinema\, a gallery and a concert hall in Chipping Norton. \n\n\n\nThe theatre has has 217 seats\, including stalls and a balcony. It is a resource for the community\, and it is also a professional venue\, welcoming over 55\,000 customer visits every year. \n\n\n\nIt is something unique\, but it is also different things to different people. It is the cause and subject of many arguments and debates; and a fair amount of acclaim and affection. It is complicated and a little eccentric. \n\n\n\nIt is not a little theatre. It likes to make a big noise. \n\n\n\nDiscover more about The Theatre Chipping Norton\, including travel\, access and venue information.

SUMMARY:The Prat Pack 2025 UK Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Prat Pack 2025 UK Tour\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Prat Pack 2025 UK Tour\n\n\n\nFour of the country’s greatest comedy entertainers will tour the UK in 2025 with their own special take on the Rat Pack – Bradley Walsh (The Chase\, Gladiators)\, Brian Conley (The Brian Conley Show\, EastEnders)\, Shane Richie (EastEnders\, I’m a Celebrity…) and Joe Pasquale (I’m a Celebrity…\, Dancing On Ice) are ‘The Prat Pack’. \n\n\n\nInspired by the performances of Frank Sinatra\, Dean Martin\, Sammy Davis Jr\, Joey Bishop\, and Peter Lawford\, the UK stars are hitting the road (with Pasquale at the wheel of the tour bus). \n\n\n\nThe Prat Pack 2025 UK Tour\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPacked with laughs and songs\, backed by a 15-piece band\, the show will let the audience in on the banter between some of television’s best-loved stars – who are also very close friends. \n\n\n\nBradley Walsh says: “People are starved of our type of entertainment – songs\, stories\, jokes – and banter! It’s an homage to the Rat Pack but brought up to the modern day\, and it’s a fantastic night. We are just thrilled. We all share the same dressing room – we’re mates. We’ve known each other for so long now – and the show is about warmth and family – because we are. It’s great\, really great.” \n\n\n\nWalsh was joined by his three mates and the Barry Robinson Big Band for a one-off show at the Palladium in London in March\, and the idea was born for a full-on Prat Pack tour. \n\n\n\nFans can expect an evening packed with jokes that can only come from the chemistry of such seasoned entertainers. Walsh\, Conley\, and Richie were all Pontins Bluecoats earlier in their careers and Pasquale was a Warner’s Greencoat\, giving them all a grounding in variety before decades-long careers at the very top of entertainment. \n\n\n\nBradley WalshWalsh hosts the BBC’s smash-hit revamp of the epic Gladiators (with son Barney)\, ITV mega-quiz The Chase and the Great British television institution that is Blankety Blank. For most stars that would be all you need to know\, but this is an actor\, comedian and singer whose credits also include Coronation Street\, Doctor Who and Law & Order: UK. He has released two hit albums – oh\, and he signed as a professional footballer for Brentford aged 18. \n\n\n\nBrian ConleySitcoms\, stage\, soap opera\, hit albums\, Strictly Come Dancing and puppets (“It’s a puppet!”) – Brian Conley has done it all. Musical Theatre credits include Me and My Girl\, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang\, Hairspray and Oliver!. Having shot to fame with ITV’s The Brian Conley Show\, in recent years\, appearances on Strictly Come Dancing and EastEnders have ensured his place as one of the country’s great performers. \n\n\n\nShane RichieShane Richie is probably best known for his classic EastEnder character Alfie Moon but his showbiz career goes back much further. For many\, he shot to prominence as host of Saturday morning TV’s Run the Risk as part of Going Live! But at the same time he was making his name on the stage in the Grease revival. Since then\, his credits range from The National Lottery: Win Your Wish List to I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!. \n\n\n\nJoe PasqualeUnforgettable from the moment his first TV performances hit the screens in the mid-90s\, Joe Pasquale’s place in the nation’s hearts was cemented with victory in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! In 2004. Since then stage credits have included starring roles in Spamalot and The Producers. The idiosyncratic comedian’s latest hit tour he named ‘The New Normal – 40 Years Of Cack!’. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom £112.74 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices:From £112.74Tickets are subject to a transaction fee of £3.95 \n\n\n\nDate & time:Thursday 22 May 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout New Theatre Oxford\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nThere has been a theatre on George Street for almost 170 years. SUMMARY:The Waterboys
DESCRIPTION:The Waterboys\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Waterboys\n\n\n\nThe Waterboys live for the experience of playing\, of feeling our music evolve and grow with each consecutive concert. Nothing makes us happier than seeing a long list of dates like these. How will the music change? What will happen that’s never happened before? How much fun and thrills can we and the audiences have? Come and join us!” – Mike Scott. \n\n\n\nThe Waterboys\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Waterboys have been led by Scottish singer and guitarist Mike Scott since the 1980s and have evolved through countless line-ups\, winning a fearsome concert reputation along the way. \n\n\n\nTheir best-known songs include The Whole Of The Moon\, How Long Will I Love You\, This Is The Sea and Fisherman’s Blues. Indisputably one of the best live bands in the world\, the 2024 version of The Waterboys features double keyboard players Brother Paul from Memphis and James Hallawell from Cornwall and is grounded by killer Irish rhythm section Aongus Ralston (bass) and Eamon Ferris (drums). \n\n\n\nThey reconfigure music from all stages of the band’s career\, from the early “big music” and the roots-inspired Fisherman’s Blues era to the run of genre-fluid records that have poured out since 2015’s swaggering Modern Blues\, taking in soul\, funk\, country-rock and any other kinds of music they care to play. \n\n\n\nExpect drama\, improvisation\, musical fireworks\, and Waterboys classics. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £51.80 \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee of £3.95. \n\n\n\nDate and time: \n\n\n\nFriday 23 May 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout New Theatre Oxford\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nThere has been a theatre on George Street for almost 170 years. The first theatre was built in 1836\, and a second in 1886. In 1934\, the third New Theatre opened. \n\n\n\nThe theatre has been owned by several different companies and undergone several name changes. It is now owned by the Ambassador Theatre Group and hosts everything from ballet and opera to musicals. \n\n\n\nOn performance days\, the Box Office opens at noon and closes 15 minutes after the show starts. If there is a performance on a Sunday or Bank Holiday\, Box Office will open 2 hours before the show begins and close 15 minutes after the show starts. \n\n\n\nThere is a large air-conditioned bar with seating located below the Stalls Foyer\, two further bars in the Circle Foyer and an additional one at the back of the balcony.
