SUMMARY:Geoff Norcott: Basic Bloke 2 - There's No Bloke
DESCRIPTION:Geoff Norcott: Basic Bloke 2 – There’s No Bloke\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Geoff Norcott: Basic Bloke 2 – There’s No Bloke\n\n\n\nNew national tour 2025-2026 for star of Have I Got News For You\, The Last Leg\, Would I Lie to You?\, Live At The Apollo\, 8 Out of 10 Cats\, Backstage With Katherine Ryan\, The Mash Report\, The News Quiz\, Geoff Norcott’s Working Men’s Club and many more! \n\n\n\nBasic Bloke 2 – is Geoff’s first tour under a Labour government\, so he’s got plenty to get off his chest! \n\n\n\nGeoff’s also taking advantage of the rediscovered tolerance towards jokes being jokes to tell you what he really thinks. How much he judges people. Bad parents\, people who eat too much\, anyone who wears a dressing gown beyond 9.00am…it’s fair to say the gloves are off. \n\n\n\nUnlike most sequels\, Basic Bloke 2 will move beyond some of the themes of the original (while fully aware that a comedian doing a ‘sequel’ at all is a bit ridiculous). He’s been moving in male mental health circles for a while now\, but while they’re all saying blokes should ‘check in’ on each other\, he’s wondering what happens if you do ‘check in’ all the time but they mainly want to send you politically incorrect memes. \n\n\n\nPresented by Live Nation in association with Sophie Chapman Talent. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“He’s a class act with a mature\, sharp take on modern politics.” \n\n\n\nSunday Times \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\n£20.50 \n\n\n\nAll prices include any booking fees \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nSunday 05 October 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nThe Theatre \n\n\n\nAge guidance: \n\n\n\n16+ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Theatre Chipping Norton\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Theatre Chipping Norton\, sometimes called The Theatre\, Chipping Norton or Chipping Norton Theatre\, is a theatre\, an arthouse cinema\, a gallery and a concert hall in Chipping Norton. \n\n\n\nThe theatre has has 217 seats\, including stalls and a balcony. It is a resource for the community\, and it is also a professional venue\, welcoming over 55\,000 customer visits every year. \n\n\n\nIt is something unique\, but it is also different things to different people. It is the cause and subject of many arguments and debates; and a fair amount of acclaim and affection. It is complicated and a little eccentric. \n\n\n\nIt is not a little theatre. It likes to make a big noise. \n\n\n\nDiscover more about The Theatre Chipping Norton\, including travel\, access and venue information.

SUMMARY:Abingdon Michaelmas Fair 2025
DESCRIPTION:About Abingdon Michaelmas Fair 2024\n\n\n\nAbingdon Michaelmas Fair takes place annually on the Monday and Tuesday falling first before the 11 October from noon to 11.00pm on both days. This will fall on Monday 06 and Tuesday 07 October 2025. \n\n\n\nThe Michaelmas Fair is the longest street fair in Europe\, running from Market Place\, through the High Street\, The Square and the entire length of Ock Street. \n\n\n\nThis historic street fair has its origins in the shortage of labour following the Black Death of 1348/9. The Fair was a hiring fair\, the equivalent of today’s employment agencies and online job websites. \n\n\n\nThe Michaelmas Fair starts setting up on Sunday\, after which there are road closures and diversions to enable the traditional street fair to take place. There are also closures and diversions the following week for the Runaway Fair. \n\n\n\nAs with previouse years\, to mark the start of the Fairs\, we expect the Town Council will be organising the traditional Fairground Service of Blessing and Dedication to take place at 7.00pm on Sunday 05 October 2025 on the Galloping Horses in the Market Place. \n\n\n\nAll are very welcome. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

SUMMARY:That Knave\, Raleigh
DESCRIPTION:That Knave\, Raleigh\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout That Knave\, Raleigh\n\n\n\nFollowing their five-star show\, I\, Elizabeth\, the award-winning Dyad Productions (A Christmas Carol\, Lady Susan\, A Room of One’s Own\, Christmas Gothic\, Austen’s Women\, Female Gothic) return to the Elizabethan era. To the famous and fabulous Elizabethan explorer\, sailor\, dandy\, and warrior\, Sir Walter Raleigh. Elizabeth I’s favourite and James I’s knave. \n\n\n\nThis is a journey through the astonishing highs and lows of one of Britain’s most famous historical figures. But there’s so much you don’t know… \n\n\n\nFather\, husband\, writer\, poet\, adventurer\, philosopher\, soldier\, tyrant\, egotist\, lover\, traitor\, alchemist\, visionary\, victim. \n\n\n\nIn a life spanning around 65 years\, Sir Walter Raleigh achieved more than others might do in a hundred lifetimes. Over a decade in the tower and still he held power. The Huguenots\, America\, The Armada\, and execution. Is that the whole story? The final chapter of Raleigh’s life is perhaps the most daring\, strange\, and utterly heartbreaking. \n\n\n\nSee the fall from grace taken directly from the historical record\, marvel at the magnetism of a man who seized every opportunity to create a legacy which spans the centuries\, and at every wrenching\, exalting\, and personal moment\, you will be witnesses. \n\n\n\nWritten and performed by Andrew Margerison (A Christmas Carol\, Frantic Assembly’s Fatherland\, Macbeth)\, and directed by Rebecca Vaughan (A Christmas Carol). \n\n\n\nCreated in collaboration with The Old Town Hall\, Hemel Hempstead. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWatch the trailer\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.themillartscentre.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/that_knave_raleigh_trailer-1080p.mp4?_=1\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\n“If you haven’t seen Dyad Productions’ work before\, you simply must.”  \n\n\n\nBritish Theatre Guide \n\n\n\n\n\nTHREE WEEKS Cumulative Body of Work Award-Winners\, 2018 \n\n\n\n\n\n“Beautifully performed… entrancing.” ★★★★★ \n\n\n\nBritish Theatre Guide \n\n\n\n\n\n“Richly re-imagined\, exquisitely evocative.” ★★★★★ \n\n\n\nEdinburgh Guide \n\n\n\n\n\n“A towering performance…assured…rich.” ★★★★★ \n\n\n\nThe Scotsman \n\n\n\n\n\n“Outstanding… gripping… never less than magnetic.” ★★★★★  \n\n\n\nThree Weeks \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £18.00 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nThursday 09 October 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Mill Arts Centre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Mill Arts Centre is the cultural hub for Banbury and the surrounding area. \n\n\n\nAs the only dedicated arts provision in the area\, it aims to inspire creativity and enrich the lives of the communities by providing a high-quality\, varied artistic\, educational and participatory programme. \n\n\n\nIt plays a significant role in the town’s cultural\, social and economic development by offering the community the chance to engage with and be entertained by several art forms. \n\n\n\nThe Mill Arts Centre offers an exciting live events programme\, including theatre\, dance\, music\, comedy\, film\, workshops and classes. SUMMARY:The Camera Helps: A Definitive Retrospective of the Work of Paddy Summerfield
DESCRIPTION:The Camera Helps: A Definitive Retrospective of the Work of Paddy Summerfield\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Camera Helps: A Definitive Retrospective of the Work of Paddy Summerfield\n\n\n\nPaddy Summerfield (1947–2024) was a photographer who developed a new psychological vision of photography\, turning the camera on the innermost workings of the human mind and heart. \n\n\n\nDespite an ongoing battle with bipolar disorder\, leading the photographer to continue living with his parents in Oxford\, Summerfield rose to prominence in the 1980s. Later\, his five critically acclaimed publications depicted Summerfield’s most intense and enduring photographic obsessions: desire and alienation. \n\n\n\nThis substantial retrospective of the photographer’s work shows the stages of Summerfield’s creative evolution through comprehensive installations inspired by his five major publications as well as other significant bodies of work. \n\n\n\nHighlights on display include: \n\n\n\n\nThe Oxford Pictures 1968-78\, a series capturing students during the summer term at Oxford. Close in age but feeling like an outsider\, Summerfield found a shared sense of loneliness in his subjects. Though set beside rivers\, college lawns\, and Oxford streets\, the images evoke the insecurities of youth\, including longing\, isolation\, and sexual anxiety\, with solitary figures reflecting his own experience.\n\n\n\nTony Lights Up (2016)\, an unpublished short photo-essay and portrait of ‘Tony’\, a familiar figure at the time to local people\, living in sheltered accommodation. Summerfield accompanied Tony on his daily routine of asking for small change\, laughing at the world around him\, and betting on dogs – portraying his pleasure in the quiet satisfaction of lighting a cigarette.\n\n\n\nMother and Father (Dewi Lewis Publishing\, 2014)\, a moving and poignant journal of the final years of his parents’ sixty-year marriage. From 1997 to 2007\, Summerfield documented his mother’s worsening Alzheimer’s and his father’s unceasing dedication to caring for her.\n\n\n\n\nThe exhibition also offers a glimpse of both the physicality and mastery of Summerfield’s unique and idiosyncratic relationship with the craft of photographic print making. \n\n\n\nThis exhibition is part of Photo Oxford. \n\n\n\nA small display – Paddy Summerfield: Order out of chaos – will be open from the end of August until 30 November in Blackwall Hall. It previews Summerfield’s working process and serves as a forerunner to the full exhibition. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\n Free admission\, no ticket required \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nSaturday 11 October to Sunday 30 November 2025  \n\n\n\nMonday to Saturday from 10.00am to 5.00pmSunday from 11.00am to 4.00pm \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nBlackwell Hall\, Weston Library
