SUMMARY:Marquee Square Heroes – Marillion Tribute
DESCRIPTION:Marquee Square Heroes – Marillion Tribute\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Marquee Square Heroes – Marillion Tribute\n\n\n\n‘Do you remember chalk hearts melting on a wall’ \n\n\n\nMarquee Square Heroes invites you to relive the shows that made Marillion one of the biggest bands in the world. \n\n\n\nBy the end of 1984 Marillion had completed their second album release and toured the UK\, Europe\, and North America to great acclaim with the ‘Fugazi’ album. \n\n\n\nDemand to see the band was huge and a multitude of pirated bootleg live albums were beginning to circulate amongst their fans. EMI decided to release a live ‘mini album’\, available at a reduced price. And thus\, was born ‘Real to Reel’\, a live album that really captures the essence and spirit of the band at that time. \n\n\n\nOn reflection\, this smart\, knee-jerk decision\, enabled the band to concentrate on writing the album that became the biggest-selling album of their career. \n\n\n\n‘Misplaced Childhood’ achieved Number 1 status in the album charts\, providing massive exposure with top 3 chart singles positions for ‘Kayleigh’ and ‘Lavender’\, and a healthy chart position for ‘Heart of Lothian’ too. \n\n\n\nKayleigh was only kept from the top of the charts by a worthy charity single but sold well over 200\,000 copies. You couldn’t turn the Radio on in 1985 and not hear that classic song of lost love and lost opportunities. And I seriously suspect everyone knows at least one Kayleigh! \n\n\n\nThis year Marquee Square Heroes will recreate the shows from this key period for Marillion\, performing not only a set that reflects that tour but also performing the entire classic Misplaced Childhood album\, as intended by the band in strict running order. As well as other classics\, not necessarily performed on that tour. \n\n\n\nA return to Banbury on the 40th anniversary of the album release will be a very special event – Marquee Square Heroes are delighted to celebrate the release of the album in The Mill Arts Centre. Featuring named musicians from the genre who have appeared across the world with members of Marillion. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWatch the trailer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\n£19.50 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nSunday 31 August 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nDoors open at 7.00pm \n\n\n\nAge guidance:  \n\n\n\n14+ \n\n\n\nContent guidance: \n\n\n\nModerate Language \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Mill Arts Centre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Mill Arts Centre is the cultural hub for Banbury and the surrounding area. \n\n\n\nAs the only dedicated arts provision in the area\, it aims to inspire creativity and enrich the lives of the communities by providing a high-quality\, varied artistic\, educational and participatory programme. \n\n\n\nIt plays a significant role in the town’s cultural\, social and economic development by offering the community the chance to engage with and be entertained by several art forms. \n\n\n\nThe Mill Arts Centre offers an exciting live events programme\, including theatre\, dance\, music\, comedy\, film\, workshops and classes. SUMMARY:Unravelling Wilburys
DESCRIPTION:Unravelling Wilburys\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Unravelling Wilburys\n\n\n\nLegend has it the original Wilbury brothers from Nashville\, Tennessee\, were plying their trade as a good ol’ Country band one night in Tootsie’s Bar\, when who should walk in but George Harrison from The Beatles and his old pal Jeff Lynne outta the ELO. \n\n\n\nAfter a few beers\, George and Jeff decided they loved the Wilbury boys and called up some of their friends\, inviting them downtown to hear for themselves. Those friends turned out to be Roy Orbison\, Tom Petty out of the Heartbreakers\, and Bobby Dylan himself. \n\n\n\nThe story goes that\, after the show\, the famous five wanted to hang out with the shy and retiring Unravelling Wilburys. They all got pretty drunk\, and it seemed like the Wilbury brothers had got their big break when Tom Petty allegedly said they should all work together. \n\n\n\nSix months went by and the Wilburys heard nothing. Then one day they were passing a record store and heard one of their own songs playing on the hi-fi. “Who’s this playing our song?” they said to the guy behind the counter. “Why\, it’s a new supergroup\,” the guy replied. “They call themselves The Traveling Wilburys.” \n\n\n\nYes folks\, it seems the Traveling Wilburys became a tribute band to our home-spun originals. \n\n\n\nWell\, a few years and more passed and finally the Unravelling Wilburys decided to ‘reclaim’ those songs\, putting together a set of all the hits and the best stuff Dylan\, Petty\, Orbison\, Lynne\, and Harrison could muster between ’em. Then they headed for the UK. The folks there ain’t got much of a clue about Country music and took to ’em straight away. \n\n\n\nPretty soon they were travelling all over the country\, from the Orkney Islands to the Isle of Wight; from Penzance to Perth; from Southwold to South Wales; packing out theatres along the way in towns whose names they’d never heard of and couldn’t pronounce. \n\n\n\nThe show features the best of the Wilbury albums (‘Handle with Care’\, ‘The End of the Line’\, ‘The Devil’s Been Busy’\, ‘Tweeter & The Monkey Man’ etc.) and some of their supposedly thievin’ counterparts’ numbers like ‘Only the Lonely’\, ‘Won’t Back Down’\, ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’\, ‘Like a Rollin’ Stone’ and ‘Mr. Blue Sky.’ The act even contains the kind of comedy only a band spending too many nights in Travelodge hotels could dream up. \n\n\n\nThe Unravelling Wilburys are now so popular they even got to be a question on the TV show ‘The Chase’. Now that’s fame…even if it ain’t fortune. \n\n\n\nSo- Ladies and Gentlemen\, turn off your hearing aid\, put your Zimmer frame to one side\, and prepare for a musical journey with Walter\, Blind Melon\, Sticky Willy\, Thumper and the Reverend Honky Tonk Wilbury. It’s a journey you ain’t gonna forget in a hurry. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\n£22.75 \n\n\n\nPrices include a £1.00 Restoration Levy\, a £1.50 Booking Fee and a 25p Community Fund Levy. \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nFriday 05 September 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n2 hours 20 minutes \n\n\n\nAge guidance: \n\n\n\nOver 12s \n\n\n\nContent guidance:  \n\n\n\nSome innuendo\, drug references & very mild swearing \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Kenton Theatre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nSituated in the centre of Henley-on-Thames\, the Kenton Theatre is the fourth-oldest working theatre in the UK and a registered charity. He believes that after you’ve seen the show\, you’ll feel exactly the same way. \n\n\n\nHis last tour was extended four times and he’s one of a select number of comics to have done Live At The Apollo three times and the Royal Variety twice\, TV also includes Have I Got News For You\, The Apprentice You’re Fired\, Bake Off Extra Slice and Would I Lie To You. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\n£22.50 \n\n\n\nAll prices include any booking fees \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nTuesday 09 September 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nThe Theatre \n\n\n\nAge guidance:  \n\n\n\n14+ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Theatre Chipping Norton\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Theatre Chipping Norton\, sometimes called The Theatre\, Chipping Norton or Chipping Norton Theatre\, is a theatre\, an arthouse cinema\, a gallery and a concert hall in Chipping Norton. \n\n\n\nThe theatre has has 217 seats\, including stalls and a balcony. It is a resource for the community\, and it is also a professional venue\, welcoming over 55\,000 customer visits every year. \n\n\n\nIt is something unique\, but it is also different things to different people. It is the cause and subject of many arguments and debates; and a fair amount of acclaim and affection. It is complicated and a little eccentric. \n\n\n\nIt is not a little theatre.
