SUMMARY:FISH
DESCRIPTION:FISH\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout FISH\n\n\n\nFISH\, the icon of progressive rock and much-acclaimed artist\, singer\, musician\, frontman\, and lyricist extraordinaire is thrilled to announce that he will be embarking on his farewell ‘Road To The Isles’ tour in the UK. \n\n\n\nBidding a final goodbye to the music industry after four decades of hits\, memories\, and touring\, FISH will be playing thirteen celebratory and emotional shows across England and Scotland\, taking in many towns and cities\, including Aylesbury\, where his music career started with Marillion. The tour finishes in Glasgow with a rousing last-ever show\, which will conclude FISH’s extraordinary career as a live performer. \n\n\n\nFISH\n\n\n\n“I’ve been amazed at the response to the tour”\, says FISH\, “and the sales in the first week in Europe were phenomenal\, so much so that dates had to be added to deal with the unprecedented demand. It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to take a bow on such a high and with the UK dates going on sale this week and finally closing the circle I’m sure it’s going to be an emotional finale. \n\n\n\n“I don’t want to be sticking to the same setlist every night and there are so many potential songs for the set we all felt that having a moveable feast was the way forward. The setlist will be covering 12 solo albums and of course\, there will be material from my time with Marillion. \n\n\n\n“There are a few epics from that time that I’d be remiss if I ignored and to be honest\, I’m actually looking forward to revisiting a couple of those tracks. The band members have all played them at one time or another and are all more than capable of delivering fantastic renditions across the board. It’s going to be actually quite exciting revisiting a lot of the material with this historical line-up.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTickets prices: \n\n\n\nThis show is sold out \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nFriday 28 February 2025 at 7.00pm \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nMain auditorium \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Aylesbury Waterside Theatre\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nAylesbury Waterside Theatre is a stunning modern venue at the heart of Buckinghamshire’s cultural scene. \n\n\n\nOpened in 2010\, its striking wooden interior takes inspiration from the rolling Chiltern Hills\, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. SUMMARY:Images of Authority: Portraits Between Iran and Europe
DESCRIPTION:Images of Authority: Portraits Between Iran and Europe\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Images of Authority: Portraits Between Iran and Europe\n\n\n\nThis free exhibition examines the power of portraits in shaping the image of three contemporaneous rulers: Fath Ali Shah Qajar (1797–1834)\, King George III (1760–1820)\, and Napoleon Bonaparte (1799–1814)\, offering a fascinating reflection on the role of imagery in both personal and political life. \n\n\n\nJuxtaposing works on different media from Iran\, Britain\, and France\, the display reveals the strategies these leaders and their image-makers used to convey authority\, ambition\, and personality. \n\n\n\nFor the first time in over a century\, the exhibition also presents two recently restored Qajar paintings\, alongside insights from their conservation discoveries. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking informatio\n\n\n\nPrices: \n\n\n\nFree \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nGallery 29 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSelected artworks on display\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n Seated Portrait of Fath Ali Shah of Iran retouched & conserved\, about 1798\, oil on canvas © Ashmolean Museum\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n Portrait of a setar player\, 1797–1798.
