SUMMARY:Abingdon Drama Club presents Things I Know to Be True
DESCRIPTION:Abingdon Drama Club presents Things I Know to Be True by Andrew Bovell\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Abingdon Drama Club presents Things I Know to Be True by Andrew Bovell\n\n\n\nAbingdon Drama Club is proud to present ‘Things I Know to Be True’ by acclaimed Australian playwright Andrew Bovell — a beautifully observed and deeply moving exploration of family\, love\, and identity. \n\n\n\nAt the heart of the play are Bob and Fran\, devoted parents who have worked their fingers to the bone to provide for their four children. With their children now grown\, it may finally be time to slow down and tend to their beloved garden — and perhaps enjoy the fruits of their labour. \n\n\n\nBut as the seasons change\, so too does the landscape of their family life. Long-held assumptions are challenged\, expectations unravel\, and shattering truths emerge\, forcing each member of the family to confront who they are — and what they mean to one another. \n\n\n\nTold through the eyes of the four adult siblings\, Things I Know To Be True is as tender as it is bold. Each child struggles to define themselves beyond the powerful pull of parental love and expectation. As they pursue independence\, they must also navigate the enduring bonds that both sustain and constrain them. \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n Abingdon Drama Club presents Things I Know to Be True by Andrew Bovell\n\n\n\nPoetic\, humorous\, and brutally frank\, the play is a complex and intense study of the mechanics of a family — a story that resonates with anyone who has ever loved\, lost\, or longed to be understood. \n\n\n\nBovell’s writing captures the quiet heroism of ordinary lives while asking profound questions: Can love ever be too much? And what does it truly mean to let go? \n\n\n\nAbingdon Drama Club’s production promises an emotionally rich and compelling theatrical experience that will leave audiences reflecting on their own families long after the curtain falls. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nStandard – £15.00 \n\n\n\nConcessions – £12.00 \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a booking fee\, and can be purchased online or from The Bookstore \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nWednesday 25 to Saturday 28 March 2026 at 7.30pm

SUMMARY:Met Opera: Tristan und Isolde
DESCRIPTION:Met Opera: Tristan und Isolde\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Met Opera: Tristan und Isolde\n\n\n\nAfter years of anticipation\, a truly unmissable event arrives in cinemas worldwide in March 2026 as the electrifying Lise Davidsen tackles one of the ultimate roles for dramatic soprano: the Irish princess Isolde in Wagner’s transcendent meditation on love and death. Heroic tenor Michael Spyres stars opposite Davidsen as the love-drunk Tristan. \n\n\n\nThe momentous occasion also marks the advent of a new\, Met-debut staging by Yuval Sharon—hailed by The New York Times as “the most visionary opera director of his generation” and the first American to direct an opera at the famed Wagner festival in Bayreuth—as well as Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin’s first time leading Tristan und Isolde at the Met. \n\n\n\nMezzo-soprano Ekaterina Gubanova reprises her portrayal of Brangäne\, alongside bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny\, who sings Kurwenal after celebrated Met appearances in Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer and Ring cycle. Bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green makes an important role debut as King Marke. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWatch the trailer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nStandard – £19.50 \n\n\n\nUnder 16s – £14.50 \n\n\n\nAll prices include any booking fees \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nFriday 27 March 2026 at 5.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n5 hours 10 minutes \n\n\n\nFilm rating: \n\n\n\n12A \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nThe Theatre \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Theatre Chipping Norton\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Theatre Chipping Norton\, sometimes called The Theatre\, Chipping Norton or Chipping Norton Theatre\, is a theatre\, an arthouse cinema\, a gallery and a concert hall in Chipping Norton. \n\n\n\nThe theatre has has 217 seats\, including stalls and a balcony. It is a resource for the community\, and it is also a professional venue\, welcoming over 55\,000 customer visits every year. \n\n\n\nIt is something unique\, but it is also different things to different people. DESCRIPTION:Monty Don: A Journey Through British Gardens\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Monty Don: A Journey Through British Gardens\n\n\n\nWhat do our gardens say about us? SUMMARY:Camera Club: Spring 2026 Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Camera Club: Spring 2026 Exhibition\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Camera Club: Spring 2026 Exhibition\n\n\n\nCamera Club is part of The North Wall’s YouthLab programme\, which supports young people aged 12 to 17 in developing their creative skills alongside professional artists. \n\n\n\nEvery year a group of 6 to 8 aspiring photographers works with artist Elina Medley to create images using digital SLR cameras and then to curate an exhibition of photography. \n\n\n\nLast summer they worked in the studio as well as the streets and parks of Oxford to experiment with different subject matter and approaches to image-making. Over four days they built on their technical and creative skills and discovered the subjects they love to photograph. \n\n\n\nDuring the October half-term\, they immersed themselves in several exhibitions of photography and learnt so much about how to curate their own exhibition. \n\n\n\nThe group are looking forward to one more day of planning in February before they install their group exhibition in the Spring. Come along and meet our latest cohort of wonderful photographers; they will be staffing the gallery during the show. \n\n\n\nThis exhibition takes place at Magdalen Road Studios. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFree entry \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nSaturday 28 March to Thursday 02 April 2026 at 11.00am \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n4 hours \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nMagdalen Road Studios

DESCRIPTION:Oxford Harmonic Choir: Bach St Matthew Passion\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Oxford Harmonic Choir: Bach St Matthew Passion\n\n\n\nJ. S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion was completed in 1727 and has been widely recognized\, to this day\, as the greatest sacred choral work of all time. DESCRIPTION:The Bootleg Shadows\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Bootleg Shadows\n\n\n\nIn June 1960\, Hank B Marvin\, Bruce Welch\, Jet Harris and Tony Meehan recorded Apache. \n\n\n\nThis charted in July and became the monster hit that launched the Shadows instrumental career and founded a nation of bespectacled guitarists dreaming of acquiring their very own Fender Stratocaster and stepping out into the glaring spotlight of stardom. \n\n\n\nWith their immaculate appearance\, synchronised dance movements and clean\, pure melodic sound\, the Shadows chalked up 35 hits of their own (not counting another 33 hits with Cliff Richard)\, giving them more hits than any other British group and securing them a unique place in the annals of popular music. \n\n\n\nToday\, the Shadows make few live appearances\, but the Bootleg Shadows keep their ‘live’ sound alive by performing a fantasy concert that encompasses the Shadows amazing career from 1960 up until the early 80s. Concert audiences are invited to relive fantastic hits such as: \n\n\n\nFoot Tapper\, Man of Mystery\, Atlantis\, Wonderful Land\, Kon Tiki\, Don’t Cry for Me Argentina\, FBI plus many\, many more. \n\n\n\nIn the company of Geoff\, Keith\, Tony\, Lloyd and Binks\, the audience is taken on a tour of the Shadows career\, with plenty of humour to make it a night out to remember. \n\n\n\nFor anyone who loves the sounds of the 60’s – and enjoys a few laughs on the way – Bootleg Shadows perform a unique tribute that has audiences humming the tunes and doing the Shadows famous ‘walk’ long after they have left the theatre. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWatch the trailer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\n£21.00 \n\n\n\nAll prices include any booking fees \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nSunday 29 March 2026 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n2 hours \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nThe Theatre \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Theatre Chipping Norton\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Theatre Chipping Norton\, sometimes called The Theatre\, Chipping Norton or Chipping Norton Theatre\, is a theatre\, an arthouse cinema\, a gallery and a concert hall in Chipping Norton. \n\n\n\nThe theatre has has 217 seats\, including stalls and a balcony. It is the cause and subject of many arguments and debates; and a fair amount of acclaim and affection. It is complicated and a little eccentric. \n\n\n\nIt is not a little theatre. It likes to make a big noise. \n\n\n\nDiscover more about The Theatre Chipping Norton\, including travel\, access and venue information.

SUMMARY:Mary Knowland: Lines of Enquiry
DESCRIPTION:Mary Knowland: Lines of Enquiry\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Mary Knowland: Lines of Enquiry\n\n\n\nMary Knowland grew up surrounded by art; her father was a painter\, however\, her initial training was in ceramics with Robin Welch and then at Harrow School of Art. After many years exhibiting and selling\, she returned\, via a course in textiles\, to her drawing and painting roots but has more recently included ceramics in her practice. \n\n\n\nThis collection of work offers us insights into her process of enquiry through line and a variety of media\, working with the human form\, the rhythms of the coast\, the simplicity of everyday objects and natural forms. \n\n\n\nTwo approaches to making drawings and paintings will be apparent. Consciously controlled mark-making and brush strokes verging on the abstract sit alongside a much freer approach where she is not looking at the subject while the work is in progress\, yet capturing the essence of the subject. \n\n\n\nDevelopment of an idea can be seen across a series of drawings where line also directly connects to the ceramics and\, in its various forms\, line is present throughout the exhibition. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFree entry \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nTuesday 31 March to Sunday 19 April 2026 \n\n\n\nExhibition Opening \n\n\n\nTuesday 31 March from 6.00pm to 8.00pm \n\n\n\nPlease join for drinks to celebrate the opening of this exhibition \n\n\n\nFree event. SUMMARY:Royal Ballet and Opera: Siegfried
DESCRIPTION:Royal Ballet and Opera: Siegfried\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Royal Ballet and Opera: Siegfried\n\n\n\nRaised by a scheming dwarf and unaware of his true family origins\, a young man embarks on an epic journey. Soon\, destiny brings him face-to-face with a shattered sword\, a fearsome dragon and the cursed ring it guards\, and a Valkyrie forced into enchanted slumber… \n\n\n\nMoments of transcendent beauty and heroic triumph sparkle in the third chapter of Wagner’s Ring cycle\, brought to life under Barrie Kosky’s inspired eye following his spectacular Das Rheingold (2023) and Die Walküre (2025). \n\n\n\nAndreas Schager\, in his much-anticipated debut with The Royal Opera\, stars as Siegfried’s titular hero\, alongside Christopher Maltman’s towering Wanderer\, Peter Hoare’s treacherous Mime and Elisabet Strid’s radiant Brünnhilde. Antonio Pappano conducts\, drawing out the unspoken tensions and ethereal mysticism of Wagner’s dynamic score. \n\n\n\nCast: \n\n\n\nSiegfried Andreas Schager \n\n\n\nMime Peter Hoare \n\n\n\nDer Wanderer Christopher Maltman \n\n\n\nBrünnhilde Elisabet Strid \n\n\n\nAlberich Christopher Purves \n\n\n\nFafner Soloman Howard \n\n\n\nErda Wiebke Lehmkuhl \n\n\n\nWoodbird Sarah Dufresne \n\n\n\nCreatives: \n\n\n\nMusic Richard Wagner \n\n\n\nConductor Antonio Pappano \n\n\n\nDirector Barrie Kosky \n\n\n\nSet Designer Rufus Didwiszus \n\n\n\nCostume Designer Victoria Behr \n\n\n\nLighting Designer Alessandro Carletti \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\n£19.50 \n\n\n\nAll prices include any booking fees \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nTuesday 31 March 2026 at 5.15pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n5 hours 30 minutes\, including two intervals \n\n\n\nFilm rating: \n\n\n\n15 \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nThe Theatre \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout The Theatre Chipping Norton\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Theatre Chipping Norton\, sometimes called The Theatre\, Chipping Norton or Chipping Norton Theatre\, is a theatre\, an arthouse cinema\, a gallery and a concert hall in Chipping Norton. \n\n\n\nThe theatre has has 217 seats\, including stalls and a balcony.
