Performing at London’s 600-capacity Lafayette for ‘Independent Venue Week’ in February\, The Guardian found The Pretenders “as sharp as ever\, with new songs stealing the limelight from classic hits”. \n\n\n\nThe band launched the Relentless album headlining Brighton’s The Great Escape Festival\, kicking off a UK club tour treating fans to unreleased new songs and scatterings of surprise hits\, tipped as “on such brilliant form” by The Independent. \n\n\n\nTheir surprise performance at Glastonbury\, featuring special guests Johnny Marr and Dave Grohl\, was received as a highlight of the entire festival weekend. The Telegraph described “a thrilling\, rocking\, melodious\, attitude-packed surprise set\, at the Park Stage”\, MOJO found “a thing of wonder”\, and the Metro reported\, “The Pretenders left fans well and truly in awe”. \n\n\n\nJoining Guns N’ Roses at London’s BST Hyde Park mid-way through a European arena tour\, both bands then set out across the US for huge outdoor shows through August and September\, where Chrissie Hynde joined Guns N’ Roses on stage singing and playing harmonica for a surprise performance of ‘Bad Obsession’ at Boston’s Fenway Park. \n\n\n\nA spectacular UK homecoming at BBC Radio 2 In The Park in front of 35\,000 fans in Victoria Park\, Leicester\, delighted fans before the band returned to the US for the Ohana Festival and sold-out club shows across the West Coast. \n\n\n\nTicket resale is not permitted for this event. Terms and Conditions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n\nOutrageously good \nLouder Than War\n\n\n\n\nLegendary \nSun On Sunday\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nPrices:From £62.88 \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee. \n\n\n\nDates & times:Doors open at 7.00pm \n\n\n\nAge guidance:Under 14s to be accompanied by an adult. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout New Theatre Oxford\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nThere has been a theatre on George Street for almost 170 years. SUMMARY:Fairground Attraction
DESCRIPTION:Fairground Attraction\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Fairground Attraction\n\n\n\nAfter an absence of 35 years\, all four original members of the 80s band Fairground Attraction are reuniting for a 14-date UK tour. \n\n\n\nThe band’s debut\, ‘Perfect’\, went to Number One not only in the UK but in countries all around the world and in 1988\, it won Best Single at The Brit Awards. It has gone on to be regarded as a genuine pop classic. \n\n\n\nLike ‘Perfect’\, ‘What’s Wrong With The World?’ was written by the band’s guitarist Mark Nevin and sung by their brilliant vocalist\, Eddi Reader. In a similar upbeat country-pop vein as their huge hit\, they finally answer the question on everyone’s lips: “What’s wrong with the world?” \n\n\n\nThere is no other band like Fairground Attraction – their use of the guitarrón (a large\, Mexican acoustic bass)\, played by Simon Edwards\, gives the bottom end of their records a warmth and character that combines with drummer Roy Dodds\, Nevin and Reader to create a charming acoustic antidote to all that is modern and digital.  \n\n\n\nWhen they arrived on the scene all those years ago\, their unique sound was described by many as a “breath of fresh air”\, and it is even truer today than it was then. \n\n\n\nAnd where are they now? Who are they now? They are here\, alive and well; they are Fairground Attraction. They survived\, and they’re still smiling. \n\n\n\nFans will also have the chance to see the band live this autumn\, with their first UK tour since they split in 1990. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee. \n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nAge guidance:Under 16s to be accompanied by an adult 21+. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout New Theatre Oxford\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nThere has been a theatre on George Street for almost 170 years. SUMMARY:Oxford Breast Buddy Group Fashion Show and Gala Evening
DESCRIPTION:Oxford Breast Buddy Group Fashion Show and Gala Evening\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Oxford Breast Buddy Group Fashion Show and Gala Evening\n\n\n\nOxford Breast Buddy Group (OBBG)\, an Oxfordshire-based charity supporting people affected by breast cancer\, invites you to a gala dinner and fashion show on Friday\, 04 October 2024\, in the majestic surroundings of the University of Oxford’s Examination Schools. \n\n\n\nThe event will celebrate breast cancer survivorship and raise awareness of the charity. \n\n\n\nThis special event will also feature an auction of unique experiences generously donated by supporters and the local community. The evening will be an exclusive event with a limited capacity of 220 guests. A high-quality three-course meal and drinks will be served on the night\, with live music and entertainment alongside the fashion show. \n\n\n\nOBBG was co-founded in 2015 by Professor P.G. Roy\, Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Oxford University Hospitals and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Oxford. The charity provides advice\, psychological and emotional support and a safe forum for discussion following treatment and beyond for anyone affected by breast cancer. \n\n\n\nAngela Unsworth\, a member of OBBG\, said\, “This is set to be a fabulous celebration of the amazing work OBBG does in and around Oxford – with all the models taking part in the fashion show being survivors of breast cancer. We hope you can join us on the evening of 04 October. \n\n\n\n“Being told you have any kind of cancer is isolating\, even from people who love you and who you love more than anything else. We celebrate the fact that we are still here\, we celebrate that we have such fantastic people as P.G.
