Other traders produce fantastic cakes\, jams\, chutneys\, pasta\, chocolates and even plants and soaps. \n\n\n\nThe market has an amazing range of freshly made dishes from diverse food regions – Japanese\, Middle-Eastern\, Asian\, and the Mediterranean. There’s also a cafe that serves coffee\, tea\, cakes\, and a ‘Full Wolvercote’ breakfast. \n\n\n\nThe market is open every Sunday from 10.00am to noon at The White Hart Community Pub in Godstow Road\, Lower Wolvercote. \n\n\n\nThere is a Repair Café and bike clinic on the 2nd Sunday of each monthBring along your broken small electrical item\, and a trained volunteer will try to fix it for you and save it from the landfill. They also have volunteer mechanics to provide tune-ups and repairs\, and to offer advice to get your cycles rolling smoothly. \n\n\n\nIf you’re arriving by bicycle\, there are plenty of bike racks and a regular bike.

Or the rollercoaster of religious change in Tudor and Stuart England? DESCRIPTION:Alice’s Day\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAlice’s Day 2026\n\n\n\nAlice’s Day 2026\, the annual city-wide celebration of all things Alice in Wonderland\, is on Saturday\, 04 July 2026. \n\n\n\nIt is celebrated on the first Saturday in July\, in commemoration of the afternoon on the 04 July 1862 when the Christ Church mathematician Charles Dodgson took the Dean of Christ Church’s daughters (Lorina\, Alice\, and Edith Liddell) on a boat trip\, from Folly Bridge to Godstow\, where they had a picnic. \n\n\n\nThere\, they begged him to tell her a story\, so he invented tales of a girl called Alice who had fantastical adventures. He wrote this up for her in a fine manuscript entitled Alice’s Adventures Under Ground in 1864 and published an expanded version as Alice in Wonderland in 1865\, under the pen name Lewis Carroll\, with illustrations by John Tenniel. \n\n\n\nJoin venues across Oxford\, including the Museum of Oxford\, History of Science Museum\, Oxford Botanic Garden\, Weston Library\, Alice’s Shop\, and The Story Museum\, for events\, including theatre\, puppetry\, crafting\, trails\, dance\, games\, lectures and more\, to celebrate one of literature’s – and Oxford’s – best-loved story heroes. \n\n\n\nAll events are free unless otherwise stated. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGallery

There’s also a cafe that serves coffee\, tea\, cakes\, and a ‘Full Wolvercote’ breakfast. \n\n\n\nThe market is open every Sunday from 10.00am to noon at The White Hart Community Pub in Godstow Road\, Lower Wolvercote. \n\n\n\nThere is a Repair Café and bike clinic on the 2nd Sunday of each monthBring along your broken small electrical item\, and a trained volunteer will try to fix it for you and save it from the landfill. These tickets are priced according to their view (in varying degrees) of the Floating Stage. \n\n\n\nLawn (Premier\, A\, B\, C and Restricted View) tickets give you the chance to see everything at the festival and view the Floating Stage concert under the stars in an allocated seat on the grassed Lawn area. These tickets are priced according to their view (in varying degrees) of the Floating Stage. \n\n\n\nGeneral Admission tickets provide a perfect way to enjoy the events\, performances\, restaurants and bars around the site – a great ticket if you want to wander around. General Admission ticket holders will be able to hear the performance and may be able to see the stage from a distance\, but this is not guaranteed. \n\n\n\nWhat is an Under 18’s ticket? \n\n\n\nHenley Festival offers an evening ticket for visitors aged under 18. Following on\, you will be contacted by the Henley Festival Mooring Team and asked to complete and return a mooring form. It could be the location of a first date\, a Saturday job\, a regular meeting point\, or the place you went for a favourite childhood treat. \n\n\n\nJoin Maurice East to explore the history of Oxford through the fascinating stories of ever-changing city centre shops through the ages. \n\n\n\nThe tour will explore: the ‘shambles’ of medieval Oxford; the hidden Jewish quarter of St Aldates; the alleyways of the covered market; lost coaching inns; grand department stores; the controversial destruction of a famous hotel; and much much more! \n\n\n\nAccessibility and further information: \n\n\n\nMeeting point: Museum of Oxford shop (located inside the Oxford Town Hall). Please arrive 5 minutes before the start of the walk and check in at the Museum Shop with our friendly front of house team. \n\n\n\nThe walk lasts 1.5 hours. His main area of research is the history of car making at Cowley and how the arrival of industry\, cars and blue collar workers changed Oxford forever in the early twentieth century. \n\n\n\nAccess \n\n\n\nThe Museum is accessible for wheelchair users\, buggies\, and baby carriers. There is step-free\, level entry access to the Town Hall via the entrance closest to Carfax (to the left of the main steps as you face the Town Hall). All produce is grown\, reared\, caught\, brewed\, pickled\, baked\, smoked or processed by the producer. \n\n\n\nAdditionally\, stalls are staffed by the producer\, family member or someone who is directly involved in growing\, raising or producing the goods on sale\, or those with a good working knowledge of the production process. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGood to know\n\n\n\nThe Town Council organises several weekend / Continental-style Markets each year\, and the Charter Market is held in Market Place every Thursday (except on the 4th Thursday of the Month when it is replaced by the Farmers Market).

The market also features stalls non-food stalls selling antiques\, scarves and shawls\, non-plastic household goods\, and makeup\, plus cleaners and detergents. \n\n\n\nThe majority of the producers are from within 30 miles of Oxford. \n\n\n\nThe market began in August 2006 with just six stalls\, and it has since grown into a local institution. Today\, regular stalls include: \n\n\n\n\nMighty Pie Co – artisan traditional hand made meat & vegetarian flat & raised pies made from local ingredients\n\n\n\nCrudges Cheese – a range of cheeses hand made by ethical & sustainable cheese makers known personally to award-winning Crudges\n\n\n\nWillowbrook Farm – free-range chicken\, lamb\, beef\, organic eggs & local honey\n\n\n\nNatural Bread – handcrafted speciality breads\n\n\n\nMrs B’s Antiques – antique jewellery & vintage household goods\n\n\n\nJericho Coffee Traders – premium coffee roasted in Jericho & served from a vivid turquoise tuk-tuk\n\n\n\nJason’s Book Box – second-hand books\n\n\n\nSandy Lane Farm – seasonal\, fresh\, local organic fruit & veg\, lamb & pork\n\n\n\nSESI Food & Detergent Filling Station – refilling empty containers for fairtrade\, organic dried foods; household detergents & hair-care products\n\n\n\n\nThe market also has a cafe which runs each week selling delicious breakfasts\, lunches\, cakes and fair-trade teas and coffee. This is a lovely place to meet up and take a break from shopping. \n\n\n\nThe market is wheelchair accessible both inside and outside. \n\n\n\nThe East Oxford Farmers’ & Community Market is a non-profit making organisation (a Society for the Benefit of the Community). It is run by a committee and a group of volunteers. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGetting there\n\n\n\nThe market takes place every Saturday from 10.00am to 1.00pm at East Oxford Primary School. Head down Cowley Road until you reach Tesco – the school borders on the car park directly behind it.
