DESCRIPTION:Oral History skills training workshop\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Oral History skills training workshop\n\n\n\nThis seminar is one of a new six-part event series taking place this autumn\, hosted by Oxford University’s Community History Hub. The events will showcase a range of innovative local historical projects run by\, or in partnership with\, community historians. \n\n\n\nParticipants will learn about the latest new research being conducted on Oxfordshire’s diverse histories\, as well as gain new skills that could help shape personal project ideas. \n\n\n\nOn 21 November\, participants are invited to a workshop offering guidance on conducting oral history interviews and planning their own research projects. The session will cover key topics such as project planning\, research ethics\, and interview techniques\, and is open to both beginners and experienced researchers. \n\n\n\nThe session will be led by two Oxford academics who have extensive experience in researching sensitive historical themes using oral history research methods: \n\n\n\n\nDr Sally Frampton has been working with a range of community mental health organisations (including Restore\, Oxfordshire Recovery College\, and My Life\, My Choice) to develop a long view of the changing nature of mental health treatment across the county. Her team has developed a number of free resources based on their research\, including an oral history archive and teaching resources for schools\, which you can find online via the Oxford Health Histories website.\n\n\n\nDr Suzan Meryem Kalayci thinks and writes about silence in history\, with a particular focus on the events of the Armenian Genocide\, for which she has won several awards. DESCRIPTION:Aphasia Support Group in Oxford – Volunteers & Promotion – Peer Leader Anna Zvegintzov\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Aphasia Support Group in Oxford – Volunteers & Promotion\n\n\n\nA welcoming social drop-in for adults with aphasia (or other acquired communication disabilities) to meet others\, build confidence and reduce isolation. Groups are run by people with aphasia\, for people with aphasia. \n\n\n\nThe Say Aphasia charity provides support groups across the UK for people with aphasia; a language and communication disability caused by a brain injury like a stroke. Aphasia affects over 350\,000 people in the UK but is little understood or known about by the public.  \n\n\n\nIt is the only aphasia charity set up by people with aphasia for people with aphasia; helping them to adapt to their new way of life and regain their independence and confidence. \n\n\n\nAphasia occurs due to injury to the brain such as a stroke. If there is a performance on a Sunday or Bank Holiday\, Box Office will open 2 hours before the show begins and close 15 minutes after the show starts. \n\n\n\nThere is a large air-conditioned bar with seating located below the Stalls Foyer\, two further bars in the Circle Foyer and an additional one at the back of the balcony. Dr. Tinselstein — festive inventor and old friend of Santa — was just popping by for a catch-up when his Christmas Time Machine malfunctioned in the snow! Now the entire North Pole has been flung into different eras of Christmas\, from the frosty past to the far-off future! \n\n\n\nTo get everything back on track\, we need one thing: festive energy — laughter\, kindness\, singing\, and fun! \n\n\n\nThey promise the 45-minute journey will be lots of fun\, with festive singing\, joy and laughter along the way\, so please help make this Christmas the best one yet and join them at the North Pole.
