Here\, the dancers truly bring the art to life.  \n\n\n\nUnseen in the UK since its 2009 premiere\, Consolations & Liebestraum by Liam Scarlett is a response to Franz Liszt’s piano score of the same name. Scarlett’s affecting ballet depicts the lifecycle of a relationship\, its blossoming and later fracturing love. \n\n\n\nEmerging choreographer\, Florent Melac\, best known as a Premier Danseur at the Paris Opera Ballet\, creates a new work for the company in a unique\, fluid\, musical style which combines inventive transitions with intimate partnering. \n\n\n\nJoin London City Ballet as it builds momentum and continues forging a path to Theatres across the world.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAwards\n\n\n\n\nThe Guardian Best Dance of 2024 List \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Times The Best of The Arts 2024 List \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat the critics say \n\n\n\n\n“London City Ballet is wide awake and back in business.” \n\n\n\nThe Times \n\n\n\n\n\n“…a glorious revival.” \n\n\n\nThe Guardian \n\n\n\n\n\n“An astute mix of revivals and new work.” \n\n\n\nThe Times \n\n\n\n\n\n“…leaves an indelible mark on the mind.” \n\n\n\nBristol Post \n\n\n\n\n\n“…rings with the clarity of perfection.” \n\n\n\nStage Talk \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFrom £35.00 \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee of £3.95 \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nTuesday 11 November 2025 at 7.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n1 hour 40 minutes\, including an interval \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout New Theatre Oxford\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nThere has been a theatre on George Street for almost 170 years. SUMMARY:Oxford's Black & Muslim migration stories
DESCRIPTION:Oxford’s Black & Muslim migration stories\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Oxford’s Black & Muslim migration stories\n\n\n\nThis seminar is one of a new six-part event series taking place this autumn\, hosted by Oxford University’s Community History Hub. The events will showcase a range of innovative local historical projects run by\, or in partnership with\, community historians. \n\n\n\nParticipants will learn about the latest new research being conducted on Oxfordshire’s diverse histories\, as well as gaining new skills that could help shape personal project ideas. \n\n\n\nOn 07 November\, participants will hear about the migration and community histories of local Black and Muslim residents of Oxfordshire\, from two project teams recently funded by the Community History Hub. \n\n\n\n\nThe ‘Place for We’ team has been exploring the ways in which African-Caribbean migrants to Oxford have worked\, played\, protested and built lives in the city\, from the mid-twentieth century to today. Hear from Euton Daley (Unlock the Chains Collective) and Junie James (ACKHI): two of Oxford’s foremost Black History researchers\, who have years of experience between them in building community archives and sharing their histories via plays\, exhibitions\, publications\, and Oxford’s legendary ‘Cowley Road Carnival’.\n\n\n\nThe ‘Muslim History of Oxford’ team has been collecting stories to build a new oral history archive of Muslim community experiences living in Oxfordshire. Sadiya Ahmed (Director of Everyday Muslim) and Dr Aleena Din (postdoctoral researcher at Manchester University) will be discussing the process of building this new archive and will showcase what it tells us about the diverse lived experiences of Muslims who have come to Oxford from all over the world.\n\n\n\n\nThe event is free and everyone is welcome\, but please note that the number of spaces available is limited\, so do book in advance. If you have any questions about the event\, you are welcome to contact Dr Priya Atwal (Community History Fellow) via email at priya.atwal@history.ox.ac.uk. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFree event \n\n\n\nDates and times: \n\n\n\nFriday 07 November 2025 at 2.00pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n1 hour 30 minutes \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nLearning Studio inside the Stephen A. Visit the venue information page for further details\, including opening times\, getting there\, age restrictions and more.
