SUMMARY:South Oxford Farmers and Community Market
DESCRIPTION:South Oxford Farmers and Community Market\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the South Oxford Farmers and Community Market\n\n\n\nThe South Oxford Farmers and Community Market is a weekly market selling local\, seasonal food and non-food goods. \n\n\n\n‘Local’ means produced within a 30-mile radius of Oxford and ‘produced’ means containing a significant quantity of local ingredients and labour although locality rules do not necessarily apply to ethical enterprises such as Fairtrade or similar organisations. \n\n\n\nThe market also supports the resale of locally-sourced second-hand products such as books and clothing. \n\n\n\nThe market is held every Sunday from 10.00am to noon in the courtyard of the South Oxford Community Centre on Lake Street. \n\n\n\nWeekly/regular vendors include: \n\n\n\n\nNatural Bread Company\n\n\n\nClays Organic Vegetables\n\n\n\nBrill Organic Vegetables\n\n\n\nEadles of Beckley\n\n\n\nSofacoma Wholefoods\n\n\n\nCelia’s Bakery\n\n\n\nFAI Eggs\n\n\n\nRaffaele Pepe\n\n\n\nJericho Coffee Traders\n\n\n\n\nThe South Oxford Farmers and Community Market is an initiative of the Low Carbon South Oxford (LCSO) Community Action Group\, and it is run by a small group of dedicated volunteers – all residents of South Oxford.

SUMMARY:Rhod Gilbert & The Giant Grapefruit
DESCRIPTION:Rhod Gilbert & The Giant Grapefruit at New Theatre Oxford\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRhod Gilbert & The Giant Grapefruit\n\n\n\nMulti-award-winning comedian Rhod Gilbert is bouncing back with a brand new live show\, Rhod Gilbert & the Giant Grapefruit. \n\n\n\nRhod is embarking on a full UK & Ireland tour\, playing more than 90 dates and running until late 2025. \n\n\n\nPreviously\, Rhod was dealing with some pretty pungent life citrus and an idiot called John. Little did he know that things were about to turn even more sour. \n\n\n\nBut Rhod’s not bitter; he’s bouncing back and feeling remarkably zesty. Hilariously dark\, passionate and way too personal\, this is classic Gilbert\, squeezing every last drop out of life’s latest curveballs… with a little help from an old adversary. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat the critics say\n\n\n\n\n★★★★ “Glorious\, satisfyingly splenetic stand up with a roaring sense of fun.” \nThe Times\n\n\n\n\n★★★★ “Big poignant laugh\, overbrimming with life.” \nThe Telegraph\n\n\n\n\n★★★★ “Barnstorming two hours. Knockout show with big laughs and a big heart.” \nThe Guardian\n\n\n\n\n“Without doubt\, one of the best comedians anywhere in the world.” \nTime Out\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee. \n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTimes: 7.30pm.Doors open 30 minutes before the show starts. \n\n\n\nDuration: TBC.This show has an interval. \n\n\n\nAge guidance: 16+.Not suitable for under 16s. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout New Theatre Oxford\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nThere has been a theatre on George Street for almost 170 years. SUMMARY:Oral History skills training workshop
DESCRIPTION:Oral History skills training workshop\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Oral History skills training workshop\n\n\n\nThis seminar is one of a new six-part event series taking place this autumn\, hosted by Oxford University’s Community History Hub. The events will showcase a range of innovative local historical projects run by\, or in partnership with\, community historians. \n\n\n\nParticipants will learn about the latest new research being conducted on Oxfordshire’s diverse histories\, as well as gain new skills that could help shape personal project ideas. \n\n\n\nOn 21 November\, participants are invited to a workshop offering guidance on conducting oral history interviews and planning their own research projects. The session will cover key topics such as project planning\, research ethics\, and interview techniques\, and is open to both beginners and experienced researchers. \n\n\n\nThe session will be led by two Oxford academics who have extensive experience in researching sensitive historical themes using oral history research methods: \n\n\n\n\nDr Sally Frampton has been working with a range of community mental health organisations (including Restore\, Oxfordshire Recovery College\, and My Life\, My Choice) to develop a long view of the changing nature of mental health treatment across the county. Her team has developed a number of free resources based on their research\, including an oral history archive and teaching resources for schools\, which you can find online via the Oxford Health Histories website.\n\n\n\nDr Suzan Meryem Kalayci thinks and writes about silence in history\, with a particular focus on the events of the Armenian Genocide\, for which she has won several awards. She explores the notions of memory and affect within her work on oral and cultural history.\n\n\n\n\nThe event is free and everyone is welcome\, but please note that the number of spaces available is limited\, so do book in advance. If you have any questions about the event\, you are welcome to contact Dr Priya Atwal (Community History Fellow) via email at priya.atwal@history.ox.ac.uk. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nFree event \n\n\n\nDates and times: \n\n\n\nFriday 21 November 2025 at 2.30pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n1 hour 30 minutes \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Museum of Oxford\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nThe Museum of Oxford is the only museum dedicated to telling the story of Oxford and its people.
