SUMMARY:Bodies Condemned by Oblivion
DESCRIPTION:Bodies Condemned by Oblivion\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Bodies Condemned by Oblivion\n\n\n\nExperience the world premiere of a powerful new English translation of Bodies Condemned by Oblivion (Cuerpos Desahuciados por el Olvido) by Colombian playwright Jhonnathan Velasquez\, presented as a rehearsed reading by local LGBTIQ+ actors from Oxford. \n\n\n\nSet during Colombia’s armed conflict\, the play follows two young men who are forcibly recruited into guerrilla forces. As they navigate the violence and uncertainty of war\, they must also confront their love for one another and the challenges of living authentically in a world shaped by conflict. \n\n\n\nMoving between moments of separation\, memory and survival\, this play offers an intimate portrait of resilience in the face of violence. \n\n\n\nThis special performance forms part of an international collaboration between artists from the UK\, Colombia\, and Mexico\, exploring how queer communities use creativity to resist violence\, preserve memory\, and imagine new futures. \n\n\n\nThe second half of the evening is produced in collaboration with Queer Voices\, from T(Art) Productions\, featuring performances of work from local members of the LGBTIQ+ community reflecting on their own experiences of love in the margins. \n\n\n\nThis will include works created in a workshop with the playwright and Mexican author Julio Diaz Calderon\, reflecting on queer memories of violence\, discrimination and joy. \n\n\n\nThis partnership brings together theatre-makers\, performers and community participants to reflect on shared experiences across cultures while recognising their distinct histories and contexts. \n\n\n\nThe evening concludes with a conversation featuring the performers and the creative team\, exploring the role of queer storytelling\, artistic collaboration and performance as acts of resistance. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\nAdult – £11.00 \n\n\n\nStudent – £10.00 \n\n\n\nTickets are subject to a transaction fee \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nWednesday 28 October 2026 at 7.00pm \n\n\n\nRunning time: \n\n\n\n2 hours\, including an interval \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nTheatre \n\n\n\nAge guidance:  \n\n\n\n16+

SUMMARY:Organ Recital with Stefan Donner
DESCRIPTION:Organ Recital with Stefan Donner\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Organ Recital with Stefan Donner\n\n\n\nOxford Town Hall will host an organ recital with Stefan Donner in the venue’s impressive Main Hall\, showcasing the renowned Father Willis Organ. \n\n\n\nBuilt in the late 19th century by celebrated English organ builder Henry Willis\, the historic instrument is an imposing feature of the Main Hall and provides a fitting setting for an afternoon of live organ music. \n\n\n\nIt is particularly notable because the instrument has been preserved remarkably close to its original form. The main alteration was the replacement of its original water-powered mechanism with an electric blower in 1926. \n\n\n\nAudiences are invited to enjoy a relaxed lunchtime concert\, with guests welcome to bring a packed lunch\, while tea and coffee will also be provided. The informal setting offers an opportunity to experience the character and distinctive sound of one of Oxford’s best-known historic concert organs. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see important booking information below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBooking information\n\n\n\nTicket prices: \n\n\n\n£7.00 – cash only (change is encouraged!)  \n\n\n\nTickets available at the door  \n\n\n\nDates & times: \n\n\n\nWednesday 28 October 2026 at 12.00pm
