The British Book Awards 2020

The British Book Awards, or ‘Nibbies’, has been the leading awards for the book trade since 1990. Celebrating the best books, the best bookshops and the best publishers, it is supported by all major industry associations, including The Publishers Association, The Booksellers Association and the Independent Publishers Guild.

The winners will be announced at an award ceremony on 18 May.

Update:

The annual celebration of the best books, bookshops and publishers will take place on 29 June 2020 with a virtual ceremony. It was originally scheduled for 18 May, but was recheduled as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, which has disrupted many events and public gatherings.

Nigel Roby, Chief Executive and publisher of Bookseller Media which runs the annual event, said: “We have been able to assess how organisations like BAFTA have created compelling virtual awards and I am sure that we will have a format that is going to engage everyone from our fantastic shortlisted indie bookshops to our celebrated authors and to the book-buying public”.
