About Fun, Theatre and Family Days Out This February Half-Term

Families across South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse can enjoy a fun-filled half-term with a range of free and low-cost activities, from sports and games to theatre and arts and crafts.

South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils are providing the activities and events at venues across the area from 17 to 21 February. 

The activities are expected to be very popular so, where required, residents are encouraged to book now to avoid disappointment.

Family Funday at Wantage Leisure Centre

Come along to the Family Funday at Wantage Leisure Centre, a free, action-packed event for the whole family.

Tuesday 17 February – Wantage Leisure Centre Fun Day – 9.30am-3.00pm.

Free activities from the Active Communities Team

  • Dance
  • Badminton
  • Boccia
  • New Age Kurling
  • Pickleball
  • Born to Move Early Years
  • Football – sessions for 5-7 years & 8-11 years
  • Family Dance Party
  • Booking in advance is required. Visit southandvale.gov.uk/south-and-vale-holiday-activities.
  • There will be Leisure Centre activities available, these will be bookable from 6 days before; charges may apply.

Xplorer Family Fun Challenge

Join the free Xplorer Orienteering events, a family friendly fun navigation challenge that is suitable for all ages.

Wednesday 18 February

  • Xplorer Watlington Recreation Ground, Watlington OX49 5BZ 10.00am-11.30am
  • Xplorer Southern Town Park, Abingdon, Abingdon OX14 5TJ 1.30pm-3.00pm
    • Explore the park, find the markers, complete the challenge and have fun together! Free session.

Didcot Mini Fun Day

Don’t miss the Didcot fun afternoon at Great Western Park District Community Centre, 1-4pm.Activities will include Boccia, New Age Kurling, crafts, and a family dance party.

Thursday 19 February – GWP District Community Centre, 1.00pm-4.00pm

  • Activities available will be
    • Boccia & New Age Kurling,
    • Crafts
    • Family Dance Party.

Art Centre’s Half Term Activities

This February half term, enjoy live entertainment at Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot and The Beacon in Wantage.

Saturday 21 February 

Everyone is invited to enjoy live entertainment at Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot. Families can enjoy a performance of Rapunzel, as well as a range of creative holiday activities to keep children entertained during the school break.

Friday 20 February – The Hundred Watt Club, 7.30pm

Over at The Beacon in Wantage, Monkey Mayhem Stay and Play sessions continue every Monday 9.30am–11.30am – a fun-filled morning for under 5s featuring a bouncy castle, ball pit, teddies and toys galore..
