About Claydon Estate
Claydon Estate is a country estate and events venue with a historic courtyard for visitors to eat, shop and relax. The estate has been owned by the Verney’s for more than 550 years, but it was not until Sir Edmund Verney moved here in 1620 that Claydon House and Claydon Estate became the ancestral home of the Verney family.
The estate was passed down through the generations to Sir Ralph Verney, 5th Baronet, who inherited it in 1936. Twenty years later, Claydon House was given over to the National Trust with Sir Ralph and his son, Sir Edmund Verney, 6th Baronet, dedicating their time to helping the charity restore and conserve the house and running the wider estate.
Today, with over 170 acres of scenic parkland and walled gardens, Claydon Estate offers flexible open spaces for large outdoor events. Whether a public, corporate or private celebration, there are several stunning venues for creating memorable occasions.
