About Everybody’s Talking About Jamie

Book & Lyrics by Tom MacRae

Music by Dan Gillespie Sells

From an idea by Jonathan Butterell

Directed by Guy Brigg MBE

Musical Director Ali Kane

Jamie New is sixteen and lives on a council estate in Sheffield. Jamie doesn’t quite fit in. Jamie wants to be a drag queen and go to the school prom in a dress. Supported by his brilliant, loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies, and steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight.

Based on the true story of Jamie Campbell this (‘Funny, outrageous, touching’ Daily Telegraph) musical is not to be missed! With an original score of catchy pop tunes by lead singer-songwriter of The Feeling, Dan Gillespie Sells, and writer Tom MacRae (Doctor Who), this sparkling musical will have everybody talking about Jamie!

Brought to you by the award-winning Musical Youth Company of Oxford, you’re guaranteed a performance packed with energy, dance, and song. This is a story of community and friendship, and a celebration of everyone’s messy, fabulous uniqueness.
