A digital guide for families

Share a family adventure as you explore some of the Ashmolean’s most intriguing objects.

Featuring 11 objects and paintings, this fun interactive digital guide for families offers an interactive exploration of some of the Museum’s most intriguing objects through a variety of multimedia activities.

Play games and quizzes, enjoy sounds and stories, try out your design and drawing skills – each activity is different because each object is different!

Booking information

Ticket prices:

The standard ticket, for a family of 2, includes the first 2 digital devices. Tickets for additional family members/devices are then available for a small additional cost.

Family of 2 – £10.00 (£8.00 for Members)

Family of 3 – £12.00 (£10.00 for Members)

Family of 4 – £14.00 (£12.00 for Members)

Family of 5 – £16.00 (£14.00 for Members)

Family of 6 – £18.00 (£16.00 for Members)

Dates & times:

Available at weekends in term time and every day of the summer school holidays from Saturday 19 July to Wednesday 03 September 2025. 

Age guidance:

The Ashmolean Adventure is designed for families with children aged 7–11, but there is plenty for all ages to enjoy.

Good to know:

  • Each member of the family will need their own digital multimedia device to join in with the adventure.
  • Families can book timed tickets for Ashmolean Adventure in groups of up to 6 people.
  • Pre-booking your tickets and devices is recommended to avoid disappointment, though walk-up tickets are often available at the Museum.
  • Tickets include a digital device for each person.
  • Tickets also include admission to the Museum galleries, café, and shop. Pre-booking your tickets and devices is recommended to avoid disappointment, though walk-up tickets are often available at the Museum.
  • Please note that one activity about Impressionist paintings refers to a painting that is currently not on display due to changing gallery exhibition displays.
