Families are invited to step into a storybook adventure this October as We’re Going on a Ghost Hunt™ comes to the National Trust’s Hughenden in Buckinghamshire.
The enchanting trail, inspired by The Bunny Adventures books from Bloomsbury with illustrations by Laura Hughes, runs from 11 October to 02 November 2025.
Children can pick a bunny name and set off through Hughenden’s autumn gardens in search of hidden ghosts.

Along the way, there are playful activities to enjoy, from Halloween hoopla and broomstick races to hopping over stepping stones where warty toads might appear. After completing the trail, families can collect a prize and join the celebration party.
Perfect for preschoolers and younger children aged three to eight, the trail is designed to spark imagination while making the most of Hughenden’s beautiful seasonal setting.

Richard Grudzinski, National Trust Experiences Curator, said:
“We’re thrilled to bring the magic of We’re Going on a Ghost Hunt to National Trust properties this Halloween.
“Our stunning autumnal gardens, houses and parklands create the perfect backdrop to bringing the bunny adventures to life, and with spooky storybook fun, playful games, and enchanting activities waiting around every corner, it’s a hauntingly delightful way for families to celebrate the season together.”
Evelyn Opoku-Agyeman, Senior Marketing Manager at Bloomsbury Children’s Books, added:
“We’re delighted to collaborate with the National Trust on this enchanting interactive trail, perfect for all ages.
“We can’t wait for families to meet our beloved bunnies and immerse themselves in an unforgettable Halloween adventure through the magic of We’re Going on a Ghost Hunt.”
The trail runs daily from 11 October to 02 November, 10.00am to 5.00pm, with last admission 4.30pm. It is free to join with normal admission to Hughenden.
